Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the need of a separation pawl, to solve the problem of the deterioration of an image and to easily obtain a gap quantity with high accuracy by separating a toner image supporting material by means of a separation guide which is allowed to approximate to a rotor for fixing such as a roller and a belt, etc., with a fine gap. CONSTITUTION:The separation guide 2 whose supporting point 5 abuts on the frame 16 of the fixing device is supported by a step screw 3 through a spring 6 at three points such as the supporting point and abutting spacers 4 on both end parts of a heat roller 1. Unfixed toner on a supporting material P is fixed by adding heat and pressure to the toner by the nip between a pair of rollers and fixed on the transfer paper P. In such a case, the supporting material P comes into closely contact with the heat roller 1 but the leading edge of the material P slightly separates from the roller 1, so that the supporting material P is peeled off from the roller 1 by means of the tip of the separation guide 2 and guided to a paper ejection part. Thus, the separation pawl is not needed and the gap quantity with high accuracy is obtained.
