Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent drivers on vehicles ahead and/or pedestrians, etc., from having illusions with regard to vehicles behind by using reflection means provided on the rear face to reflect light that goes out from that face of a projecting lens in a projecting portion which is near the outer periphery of the lens and that enters the inside of a light guide. CONSTITUTION:When a lamp 7 is lighted, the reflected light 5... is projected forward by a projection lens 13. When the distribution of the luminous intensity of the light 5... is seen from a section along the optical axis, there is a large amount of light 5'... that goes out from that portion 13a of the lens 13 which is near its outer periphery. The light 5'... allowed to pass through the portion 13a is then allowed to enter the inside of a light guide 19 from the circumferential face 21 of the through hole 20 of the light guide 19 and spread throughout the inside of the light guide 19a by the 'edge light' effect. That part of light 5'... which is reflected by the inner faces of rear face stipples 22... is allowed to go out forward, so that the whole inside of the lens 17 is seen bright. It is thus enabled to prevent drivers on vehicles ahead and/or pedestrians from having illusions with regard to vehicles behind.

(B Summary of the Invention) The automobile headlamp of the present invention has a transparent plate-shaped light guide arranged in the lamp body to fill the difference in shape between the front opening of the lamp body and the projection part. , the opening peripheral surface of the insertion hole formed in the light guide is positioned opposite to the surface near the outer peripheral edge of the projection lens of the projection unit, and the light entering from the opening peripheral surface of the insertion hole to the rear surface of the light guide The light emitted from the surface near the outer periphery of the projection lens of the projection unit enters the light guide through the opening circumferential surface of the insertion hole of the light guide when the light is turned on. The light is reflected by the reflective means on the rear surface and emitted forward through the semi-reflective means on the front surface, and the light guide shines, allowing the driver or pedestrian of the preceding vehicle to pass or pass the following vehicle. It is possible to recognize that the vehicle is larger than a passenger car with headlights on both sides, and the front shape that can be seen as the headlights is enlarged, making it look better.

Therefore, as shown in FIG. 10, a reflecting mirror for condensing the reflected light onto a condensing section in front, and a projection lens disposed in front of the reflecting mirror, the focal point of which is located near the condensing section, are provided. The projected portion a is placed in a lamp body b with a larger outline, especially a larger front opening, as a projection part, and the front opening of the lamp body b is covered with a lens C, and the front opening is placed inside the lamp body b. A dummy plate d is placed as a reflective surface,
An automobile headlamp f is considered in which the front end of the projection part a is inserted into the insertion hole e formed in the dummy plate d.

According to such an automobile headlamp f, during the daytime, the outside light that enters the lamp body b through the lens C is reflected by the front surface of the dummy plate d and returned to the outside, so that light from the front When viewed, it is difficult to distinguish between the projection part a and other parts, giving the impression that it is a large headlamp.

(D Invention or problem to be solved) [Figure 10, 1
[Fig. 1] By the way, in the above-mentioned automobile headlight f, at night, the dummy plate d shines, and only the projection part a appears to shine, so drivers and pedestrians in the lead can see this. In this case, as shown in Figure 11, it creates an illusion as if two motorcycles are traveling side by side, and when making a traffic decision, it is easy to make a wrong decision based on incorrect information. People are used to doing this, and it is extremely problematic in terms of traffic safety.
It also looks bad.

The opening peripheral surface of the insertion hole is arranged to face a surface near the outer peripheral edge of the projection lens of the projection unit, and a reflecting means is provided on the rear surface of the light guide to reflect the light that has entered from the opening peripheral surface of the insertion hole toward the front. It was established.

Therefore, in the automobile headlamp of the present invention, the light that is emitted from the surface near the outer periphery of the projection lens of the projection part and enters the light guide from the opening periphery of the insertion hole is directed forward by the deflection means on the rear surface. The light guide appears to shine as it is reflected towards the front, and is therefore visually recognized as a headlight whose size corresponds to the area seen from the front of the light guide, resulting in a good appearance. At the same time, it is possible to prevent the driver of the preceding vehicle, pedestrians, etc. from becoming aware of the following vehicle.

The reflecting mirror 3 has a reflecting surface 4 that focuses the reflected light onto a focusing section in front of it.
For example, a parabolic-elliptic composite surface can be used. Here, the parabola-ellipse compound surface forms a parabola in the horizontal cross section, an ellipse in the vertical cross section, and the focal point of the parabola and the first focal point of the ellipse are the same point F (hereinafter referred to as the "focal point"). ) and coincides with the axis xx (hereinafter referred to as the "optical axis"). Therefore, when a light source is placed at the focal point F, the light 5. emitted from the light source and reflected by the reflective surface 4.
5, . . . are light beams parallel to the optical axis x-x in the horizontal direction, and are condensed at the second focal point of the ellipse in the vertical direction. Therefore, the reflected lights 5.5, . . . are at the second focal point of the ellipse and the optical axis x
The light is focused on a line F' (hereinafter referred to as a "condensing section") that intersects at right angles to -x and extends horizontally. Therefore, this reflected light 5.5
,... is cut at a plane perpendicular to the optical axis x-x just before or after the condensing part F', the bundle of reflected light 5.5,... becomes a substantially rectangular shape that is elongated in the horizontal direction. A pattern 6 is shown.

Incidentally, the reflecting surface of the reflecting mirror is not limited to a parabolic-elliptical compound surface, but may be any surface as long as it has the property of condensing the reflected light onto the front condensing section. Specifically, it varies depending on the desired light distribution pattern. For example, various objects such as a spheroid, a surface obtained by deforming an ellipse, etc. can be used.
