Abstract

PURPOSE:To effectively allow clean air from which minute dust is eliminated to flow into a disk closed structure body by providing an electrostatic filter on an air passage of a spindle. CONSTITUTION:When a disk plate 2 is rotated by a spindle 1, and a head driving part 4 for carrying a magnetic head 3 is operated, air pressure of the inside of a disk closed structure body sealed up tightly by a dust-proof cover 7 rises. When the disk plate 2 and the head driving part 4 stop, air pressure in the disk closed structure body drops. By a variation of this air pressure, inside/ outside air flows through a respiration filter 6. Air which flows into the inside of the disk closed structure body passes through an electrostatic filter 5 provided on an air passage of the spindle 1 and flows toward the disk plate 2. The electrostatic filter 5 can eliminate dust of about 0.01mum, therefore, the inside of the disk closed structure body can be held in a clean state.

する事故が多発している。従ってディスク密閉構造体内
のディスク板と磁気ヘッドとの間に微小な塵埃が流入す
るのを防止するため、エアフィルタを使用しているが、
従来のエアフィルタは、主として紙フィルタが使用され
ているため、その性能は約0.3μm以上の塵埃を除去
できるのが限度である。しかし最近は、さらに微小な(
例えば0.1μm以下)の塵埃を除去することが必要に
なってきている。このため、上述のような従来のエアフ
ィルタでは、微小な塵埃を完全に除去することができな
いという欠点がある。

保つことが可能となる。

ことができるという効果がある。
