Abstract

PURPOSE:To efficiently heat not only the feet but also the entire legs by combining a foot warmer comprising an electric heat generator and a standing radiation heater having an electric heat generator in the heat generating section. CONSTITUTION:A foot warmer 1 and a radiation heater 2 are combined. The foot warmer 1 comprises an electric heat generator 4 to heat the stepping surface up to 35 to 40 deg.C in its body proper 3 which is placed on the floor to hold the stepping surface in a level or nearly level position. On the other hand, the standing radiation heater 2 is joined its heat generating section to the front end of the foot warmer 1. Its radiation surface is at 105 to 135 deg. relative to the stepping surface, and an electric heat generator 5 is disposed in the heat generating section which can maintain the surface temperature in the neighborhood of 350 deg.C. A safety screen 6 is preferably attached to the front face of the radiation heater 2. Further, the stepping surface of the foot warmer 1 is preferably adjustable from the horizontal position to about 15 deg. with the its front end being raised.

(Prior Art) Devices that heat the feet include a device called a foot warmer that heats the feet locally by contact, or a free-standing electric stove as shown in Japanese Patent Publication No. 61-4003. There are screen-shaped panel heaters that use radiation to heat the legs and knees, but all of them are dedicated to heating a narrow, specific area, which is a problem when it comes to providing comfort.

(Problem to be Solved by the Invention) When sitting down to do office work or light work, it is preferable to have a device that can heat the lower body from the waist down on average. Each of these methods can only locally heat different parts of the body, and cannot achieve its purpose unless they are used in combination, but this is undesirable because of the problems of increased installation space and heating loss.

In view of these problems, the present invention was created to provide an electric heater that can efficiently heat the entire half of the body from the toes to the legs and waist at the same time. The purpose is to effectively heat the legs and waist by radiant heating, and to even out the temperature distribution to achieve comfort and contribute to improving the economical efficiency of heating operation.

The foot warmer (1) warms the soles of the feet to 35-40°C, making them feel comfortable, and the foot warmer (2) connected to the foot warmer (1) warms the soles of the feet near the feet. The electric heating element (5) with a surface temperature of around 350°C radiates radiation of approximately the same amount of heat over the entire area of the legs and knees centered at an elevation angle of 15 to 45°C. By keeping the room warm at around 15 degrees Celsius, we can avoid excessive heating and feel comfortable, making it possible to achieve local heating that is close to the ideal.

Claim 2 provides protection from burns even when the feet are brought close to the heat-resistant device (2) by installing the protective net (6), and claim 3 provides protection by setting the footrest in the most comfortable position for the user. According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, the rays of the electric heating element (5) can be efficiently and concentratedly radiated to both legs and both knees, thereby providing heating with little energy loss.

In addition, the electric heating element (5) provided in the radiant heater (2)
) may be divided into left and right halves, and both heating element elements (3) may be interposed within the casing in an arrangement adapted to the distance between the user's legs.
Such a divided structure is a preferable means in that it prevents the radiation from dissipating and allows almost the entire amount to be radiated toward both legs when the radiation is maintained at a temperature of 0°C.

Therefore, it is preferable to attach the foot warmer (1) so that it can tilt relative to the frame (7), and depending on the height difference of the user, the footrest surface may be swung from horizontal to forward upward. Since it may make your posture more comfortable when you put your feet on it, the angle is preferably within the range of <30°, preferably 15°, as shown in Figure 4.
It is a preferred embodiment to be able to swing around an axis extending in the left-right direction at the front rear end portion or the front-rear intermediate portion.

On the other hand, in the example shown in Figure 5, a reversible temperature-indicating paint (9) is applied to the surface of the electric heating element (5), and whether or not the electric heating element (5) is at a high temperature can be visually recognized as a change in color. This is preferable in that it prevents low-temperature burns caused by touching the protective net (6) for a long period of time or forgetting to turn off the switch.

Examples of temperature-indicating paints in this case include pigments containing cadmium sulfide and cadmium selenide. While it gives a sense of warmth, it is also a suitable color for predicting danger, making it even more effective. In addition, in this example, the footrest surface is formed into a chevron shape so that it fits tightly against the soles of the feet and enhances the heating effect.

When the distribution of 1 was measured, the results shown in Figures 6 and 1 were obtained, and the distribution was averaged from below the knee to the foot or LJ, and an ambient temperature of about 15°C was obtained, which was transmitted from the sole of the foot. Combined with the temperature of 35°C, this indicates comfortable local heating.
