Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 ［産業上の利用分野］ 本発明は、人間の歯列を矯正する装置、特に、開校や舌
が歯を押していたりするのを矯正する装置に関する。
［従来の技術］ 歯の開校は、小さい子供によ（見られる状態であり、奥
歯が前歯よりも余計に伸びていて、噛み合わせが行われ
る時に、奥歯だけが接触状態となり、前歯は開いたまま
である状態を言う。舌が歯を押した状態というのは、舌
が前歯に押し付けられた状態で、しばしば開校を伴って
いる。
開校を矯正したり、前歯に舌が押し付けられた状態を矯
正したりする。あらかじめ成型された矯正装置を提供す
ることは有益である。
［発明が解決しようとする課題］ 本発明は、子供あるいは大人の歯の開校を矯正するため
に、あるいは前歯に舌が押し付けられた状態を矯正する
ために使用され、使用者が脱着することが出来る、あら
かじめ成型された矯正装置を提供する。
矯正装置は一般にＵ型をした装置であり、その峡部がＵ
型を形づくっており、峡部の側面は垂直方向の縁部とな
っていて、外側の縁部は唇および頬に当たる縁部であり
、内側の縁部は舌に当たる縁部である。このような装置
は、わたしの前の合衆国特許第３９３９５９８号に記載
されている。個々の歯腔は、−本一本の歯を受は入れる
ように作られている。
［課題を解決するための手段］ 本発明の原理に基づく矯正装置と、私の前発明の装置と
の構造上の違いは、新しい装置では、上下の門歯の間に
、垂直方向に狭いスリットあるいは窪みが付けられて、
使用者が垂直方向に噛み合わせる時に、これらの歯に垂
直に圧力がかからないようになっている点にある。子供
が使用する際、子供がこの矯正装置を力を入れて噛んだ
時に、圧力は乳歯の犬歯および臼歯だけにかかる。
これにより、奥歯を押え付けて、両顎の間の垂直寸法を
狭め、前歯が開いているのを矯正する。この矯正装置は
、奥歯を最も効果的に押し付けるために、一定の硬度の
弾性を持つモールド型の材料でつくられる。
［作用］ このような矯正装置は、すべての永久歯が揃っている大
人にも使用される。奥歯（第２および第１の永久臼歯と
永久二頭歯）には、その間に噛み合わさる形で柔らかい
弾性体が挟まれ、一方、永久前歯（犬歯、左右及び中央
の門歯）には、垂直方向にスリットがついているので、
噛む力が働（時にも圧力がかからず、したがって、歯が
伸びでるのを助け、開校を矯正する。この矯正装置は、
長手類の、下顎の角度が険しく傾いた人の［４的な固定
矯正の時に、顔面と下顎面の垂直角度を安定に保つ助け
として使用することも可能である。
これらの応用では、固定矯正用ブラケットがこの矯正装
置のソケットにうまく納まるように、内側部分で水平方
向に材料が削られたり、垂直方向の寸法が狭められたり
する。
前歯に舌が押し付けられた状態を矯正するのを助けるた
めに、この矯正装置の前部に小さな挿入円かモールドさ
れて、舌の先端に対する案内役をさせ、同様に湾曲した
領域が舌がもっと垂直の位置を取る様にさせ、さらに、
矯正装置の下方中心線部の舌側からの***で、睡眠中に
舌が前歯を押した状態をとろうとするのを防いでいる。
［実施例］ 本発明の原理に基づく歯列矯正装置が、第１図から第５
図のＩＯに示されている。この装置は、私の合衆国特許
第３９３９５９８号に記載した位置調整器とい（らか似
た歯列矯正用位置調節器で、位置調節器は平面図でＵ型
をしており、前面には湾曲部があり、二つの後面部は自
由端となっており、上顎の歯をうける上部溝１２と下顎
の歯をうける下部溝１４がある。これらの溝は、唇およ
び頬部に当たる縁部１６と、舌に当たる縁部］８で形成
され、これらの縁部は二つの縁部を連結する峡部あるい
はウェブ２０によって連結されている。上下両方の溝に
は、歯を受は入れて押し下げる受は部あるいはソケット
があり、ソケットは一個またはそれ以上の歯を受は入れ
る。この矯正装置はある範囲のサイズを持つ複数の違っ
た患者に適合するようにあらかじめ整形するのが望まし
い。
峡部２０の、第１図の実線で示される少なくとも門歯の
受は入れ部領域には、ある場合には（通常は大人が使用
する場合）第１図の点線で示される犬歯の受は入れ部領
域まで広がる領域には、垂直方向のスリット２２が付け
られている。
スリットは、矯正装置を貫通する通しのスリット２２（
第２図及び第３図に示されている）でもよいし、あるい
は、歯が抵抗無しに垂直方向に伸びることか出来るサイ
ズと形状であるかぎり、対面する一対のチャンネル、溝
あるいは部分的なスリット２２°（第２Ａ図に示される
）であってもよいことを理解されたい。このように、峡
部は矯正装置の後部だけで縁部を連結し、前部では縁部
を連結していない。垂直方向のスリット２２は、矯正装
置の使用者がそれを噛むとき、門歯（あるいは犬歯まで
）に垂直方向の圧力がかからないように保証している。
胸部２０は、奥歯の領域では強固で、奥歯がそれ以上伸
びるのを防ぐが、このスリットは前歯がさらに伸びるよ
うにして、開校の矯正を助ける。
矯正装置にはまたモールドされた挿入部２４があり、こ
れは矯正装置に一体としてモールドするのが望ましく、
この挿入部は舌の先端を案内するために、矯正装置の前
部領域の舌のある側にモールドされる。挿入部２４には
、−個またはそれ以上の***２６があり、それは装置の
下方中心線にそって、あるいは中心線から下方に離れて
、舌のある側に、下が前歯に押し付けられる状態になら
ないようにするために、配置されている。第２図にもっ
ともよ（見られるように、矯正装置の中心線にそった輪
郭は、***２６の上に受は部２８を持ち、特に、突き出
た***２６と組み合わせて使用されるときに、舌が垂直
方向に高い位置にくるようにしている。このモールドさ
れた挿入部を加えることにより、舌が適切な位置に（る
ようにして、しばしば歯の開校を悪化させる傾向のある
、舌が前歯を押した状態を矯正出来る。
矯正装置は、弾性のあるモールド可能な材料で製作され
、それが奥歯を押しつけるために、奥歯領域で峡部と接
触する時に、奥歯と柔らかいクツションで噛み合わさる
ようにしている。
細長い谷間部にあるソツケトは、水平方向に内側にある
部分をな（したり、装置の垂直方向の高さを低くしたり
して、広げることが出来、広がったソケットはそこに固
定装置のブラケットをはめられるようにできて、この矯
正装置が歯の固定装置をつけている人にも使用出来るよ
うにすることができる。
本発明は、また、上部溝だけあるいは下部溝だけを持つ
位置ぎめ装置にも適用出来、いずれの場合においても、
前歯にかかる垂直方向の圧力を避けるために、位置ぎめ
装置の前歯領域には、垂直方向のス゛リットがつけられ
る。

Claims (2)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. （１）平面図では一般にＵ型をした歯列位置矯正装置（
    １０）で、門歯および犬歯をはめこむのに十分な長さを
    持ち、患者の上部歯列および下部歯列の少なくとも一つ
    の歯列を位置ぎめするサイズおよび形状をもつ、少なく
    とも一個の歯列受け入れ溝（１２、１４）があり、前記
    溝は舌側および唇または頬側の縁部（１６、１８）で形
    成され、前記縁部を連結する峡部（２０）があり、前記
    峡部には、前歯である中央門歯、両側門歯および犬歯の
    少なくともいくつかをはめこむ矯正装置の前歯部分に、
    矯正装置の全長よりも短い範囲にわたって、垂直方向の
    スリット（２２）がついている、歯列位置矯正装置。
  2. （２）平面図では一般にＵ型をした歯列位置矯正装置（
    １０）で、前部には湾曲部分があり、二つの後部分は自
    由端となっており、患者の上下の歯列の少なくとも一つ
    の歯列を位置ぎめするサイズと形状を持つ少なくとも一
    個の歯列受け入れ溝（１２、１４）があり、前記溝は舌
    側および唇あるいは頬側の縁部（１６、１８）で形成さ
    れ、前記縁部を連結する幕部（２０）があり、幕部には
    、前歯である中央門歯、両側門歯および犬歯の少なくと
    もいくつかをはめこむ矯正装置の前歯部分に、少なくと
    も一個の垂直方向を向いた溝（２２ａ′）がついている
    、歯列位置矯正装置。
