[Detailed Description of the Invention] The present invention relates to a mirror body molded from synthetic resin.

Conventional outside mirrors are shown in Figures 1 and 2.
As shown in the figure, a thick wall portion b is formed on both sides of the base of a peripheral edge a that supports a mirror (not shown), and the thick wall portion b increases the rigidity when the mirror body is supported in pressure contact with the base. It is configured in such a way that it can be obtained. However, if this is done, a sink mark H will occur in the thick part b during molding, so in order to reduce the sink mark H as much as possible, a slide core S is used in the mold to reduce the thickness of the thick part b. (See Figure 3).

By the way, in conventional mirror bodies, when the thick part b is made thinner, the rigidity decreases accordingly, making it impossible to support the mirror reliably, and for this reason, when it is assembled to the car body, vibrations from the car body are applied to the mirror. There is a drawback that the image may flicker when transmitted. In addition, if slide core S is used in the mold, the mold structure will become more complicated, and there will be restrictions on the design.
The drawback is that the design of the mirror body is regulated.

In view of the above circumstances, the present invention can suppress the occurrence of sink marks during molding as much as possible, thereby preventing a decrease in rigidity, and providing a degree of freedom in design. It is also an object of the present invention to provide a mirror body for an outside mirror that can simplify the mold structure.

As shown in FIG. 4, the mirror body 1 has a substantially box shape, and has thick portions 4 on both sides of the base of the peripheral edge 3 that forms the opening 2. As shown in FIG.

Further, the mirror body 1 is made of synthetic resin and is formed by sandwich molding. That is, as shown in the sectional view in FIG. 5, the mirror body 1 is composed of skin layers 5 forming the outer and inner surfaces thereof, and a core layer 6 between the skin layers 5. The core layer 6 is made of a foamed material such as urethane foam, and the foamed material forms the skin layer 5.
By foaming from within, it is possible to prevent sink marks that occur during molding. The skin layer 5 may be made of conventional materials such as ABS resin or AAS resin, or may be made of any weather-resistant material such as acrylic or soft material such as vinyl chloride. 7 in Figure 4
and 8 are gates and runners that form part of the mold.

As mentioned above, the mirror body according to the present invention is made of synthetic resin by sandwich molding, and the core layer 6 is made of a foam material, so that the foaming action peculiar to the foam material occurs during molding. Therefore, the skin layer 5 can be pushed out from the inside to the outside, thereby reliably preventing sink marks from occurring. Therefore, since the thickness of the thick portion 4 of the mirror body 1 does not become thinner, a decrease in rigidity can be prevented. In addition, since it is no longer necessary to use a slide core S in the mold as in the past,
The mold structure is simplified and is not subject to any restrictions. Furthermore, by using the foam material, the weight of the mirror body 1 can be reduced, and the weight of the outside mirror as a whole can be reduced.

以上述べたように、本考案によれば、ミラーボ

As described above, according to the present invention, it is possible to prevent the rigidity of the mirror body from decreasing, so the mirror can be firmly supported and flickering can be prevented, and the mold structure can be restricted. Since the process is simple and does not require any damage, the cost of the mold can be reduced accordingly, and there is an advantage that the degree of freedom in design can be increased.
