カラービデオ画像信号を、しきい値と比較する比
較回路と、同比較回路の比較結果を記憶する画像
メモリと、前記画像メモリの前記カラービデオ画
像の位置に対応したアドレスを指示する信号を発
生するアドレス発生回路と、前記の比較回路の比
較結果を前記アドレス発生回路で指示された画像
メモリアドレスに書き込む書き込み手段と、多色
階調画像の表現方法に基づき前記画像メモリより
記憶データを読みだし印字する印字手段とを有す
るカラーハードコピー装置において、前記しきい
値に対応したデジタルコードを生成する濃度コー
ド生成回路と、前記比較回路の比較結果が所定の
状態であるとき前記濃度コード生成回路で生成し
たデジタルコードを前記アドレス発生回路で指示
されたアドレスの前記画像メモリに書き込む書き
込み回路と、前記しきい値を単調に増加/減少さ
せた後に再度前記の比較回路と画像メモリとアド
レス発生回路と書き込み回路とを動作させること
