DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention receives still image signals such as characters and figures that are transmitted superimposed on video signals during the vertical blanking period of a television signal, and transmits them to a central processor such as a microprocessor. The present invention relates to a teletext receiver in which data is processed in a predetermined procedure by a processing device, accumulated and stored in a memory, and is selectively read out and displayed on a television screen based on a program selection operation.

The still image signal superimposed on the video signal and transmitted has, for example, the following format. That is, on the transmitting side, the pattern signal is decomposed into a matrix of pixels of 248 bits horizontally, 204 lines vertically, and a total number of pixels of 248 x 204 = 50592 bits, and the above pixels are 8 bits horizontally and 12 lines vertically, making a total of 96 bits as one block. The horizontal blanking block, 17 vertical levels of color signals, and each of the above still image signals for one horizontal line (248 bits for pattern signals, 31 blocks for color signals) are processed from the 10th H (273rd H) to the 173rd H in the vertical blanking period.
It is sent out with various control codes added during an arbitrary period of the 21st H (284th H).

At the same time, a still image is composed of a plurality of programs or pages, and a data packet (PCP) that controls the entire program/page is also sent out prior to the pattern signal and color signal packets. This data packet (PCP) also has the above-mentioned control codes, that is, a start signal (CR), a framing code (CR), a service identification/interrupt (SI/IN), and a data identification (DI).

Figure 2 shows an example of the structure of a still image signal (data packet), including a page control packet (PCP), color code packet (CCP), pattern data packet (PDP), horizontal scroll packet (HDP), and program index packet ( There are six types in total: PIP) and dummy packets (DMP).

Each of these packets has a control section (header section) at the beginning. Then, the still image signal extracted from the television signal is written to the buffer memory, which stores it, after synchronizing the extraction using, for example, the clock line (CR) and framing code (FC) shown in Figure 2. Subsequent data writing is performed.

By the way, the still image signal is transmitted by superimposing one horizontal line on the video signal during the vertical blanking period, so it takes about 3 seconds to compose one screen. Therefore, if dozens of different programs are to be transmitted, a considerable amount of waiting time will be required from the time the receiver selects the desired program to the time it is received. In order to reduce this waiting time, if a large number of memories are provided and desired programs can be reserved in advance in each of these memories, the waiting time for the reserved programs can be extremely reduced.

There is a data identification (DI) in the control section (header section) of the still image signal (data packet) in Figure 2.
This data identification code is used to distinguish the types of packets (page control packet, color code packet, pattern data packet, horizontal scroll data packet, program index packet, dummy packet). As shown above, the scanning line number on the screen is usually added, and the color code packet is usually added with the column program on the screen.

If the above codes are added, the assembly at the time of reception does not always start from the top of the screen, but it is also possible to assemble still images from the center of the screen towards the top. Unique visual effects can be created by assembling still images.

However, as mentioned above, when a large amount of memory is used to receive and store desired reserved programs with very little waiting time, it is necessary to assemble the contents of dozens of programs at once. If they were to be stored together, the assembly process would take a lot of time, and the purpose of using a large amount of memory would be lost.

Further, if the still image signals of the reserved program are assembled and then stored in the memory, the above-mentioned visual effect by assembling the still images on the screen cannot be achieved.

For example, if program N is currently displayed on the screen and program M is stored in the reservation memory, the entire content of program M may be stored in the reservation memory while the screen of program N is being viewed. In this case, the next time you select to display the M program on the screen, a still image will be displayed on the screen regardless of the assembly on the transmitter side, and the intended visual effect will not be obtained.

According to this invention, the still image signal of the program or page specified for reservation is recorded in the memory as it is sent from the transmitter/receiver, and when a selection operation for the specified reservation program is performed, the still image signal of the program or page specified for reservation is recorded as if it had just arrived. It will be assembled exactly as shown and displayed on the TV screen.

As described above, according to the present invention, still image signals that are assembled and sent on the transmitter side are stored as they are in consideration of the visual effect, and are assembled in a predetermined manner for the first time when being displayed on the screen. In particular, compared to the case where programs are assembled and then stored, it is possible to save the time required to assemble dozens of programs, and if there is only one display screen, only one program is required. Assembly processing speed can also be significantly increased.
