As shown in FIG. 1, the paper setting mechanism of the paper feeding device of a conventional serial printer has a paper storage area shown by a broken line behind the printer, and the paper shown by the broken line is set into the printing device from the rear of the printer. Such a paper setting mechanism requires a place to store the paper behind the printer, which may cause problems in terms of printer installation space. For this reason, recently a bottom feed system has been adopted in which paper is set from below the printer, as shown by arrow A in FIG. In FIG. 1, 1 is paper, 2 is a paper guide, 3 is a platen, and 4 is a tractor.

The paper setting mechanism in this paper setting method is as shown in FIG. In this figure, as in FIG. 1, 1 is printing paper, 2 is a paper guide, 3 is a platen, and 4 is a tractor. The procedure for setting paper in a conventional apparatus will be explained with reference to FIG. As shown in FIG. 1, the paper is manually inserted into a predetermined position from below the printer and upward into the printer. The inserted paper passes through a paper guide 2 and a platen 3, as shown in FIG. 2, and reaches the top surface of the printer. The paper that has reached the top of the printer is then set on the tractor 4 by aligning its feed hole with the paper feed protrusion of the tractor 4. As mentioned above, when setting paper in a conventional printer device, there is no mechanism to prevent the paper from going backwards in the paper guide 2, so the paper inserted from the bottom of the printer will not roll until it appears on the top of the printer. As shown in Figure 1, the paper must be held by hand from below the printer. Therefore, the paper inserted from the bottom of the printer reaches the top of the printer,
When setting this on a tractor, the paper that has reached the top of the printer is pulled further upwards, so the person setting the paper should hold the paper from below the printer with one hand to prevent the paper from rolling back up, as shown in Figure 1. At the same time, the remaining hand must be used to pull up the paper that has reached the top of the printer. At this time, if you are unlucky enough to let go of the hand that was holding the paper below the printer before grasping the paper that has protruded from the top of the printer, the paper will fall down from the printer, and you will have to reload the paper using the method described above. There must be.

As explained above, conventional paper setting mechanisms for printers force the operator to perform unnecessarily complicated operations, leading to incorrect paper setting, paper kinking, and other paper waste, resulting in processing delays and machine Examples were often experienced that resulted in a decrease in operating efficiency.

An object of the present invention is to solve the above-mentioned problem of complexity in setting paper in a printer, and in order to achieve such an object, the inventor of the present invention has developed a paper guide in a paper setting mechanism of a bottom feed type paper feeding device. A plurality of cut and raised pieces are cut and raised in the paper width direction of one member, and a spherical or cylindrical roller is arranged between the one member and the other member on which the cut and raised pieces are not cut and raised. Invented a paper setting mechanism for a paper feeding device.

FIG. 3 is a diagram showing the paper setting mechanism of the present invention. In the figure, numerals 1, 3, and 4 indicate the same parts as those already shown, and FIG. 4 is a view of the paper guide provided with the cut-and-raised piece 5 of FIG. 3, viewed from the direction of arrow C in the same figure. It is. Referring to FIGS. 3 and 4, a plurality of substantially rectangular cut pieces 5 sufficient to prevent the paper from rolling back are cut out on one member 12' of the paper guide, which has the same function as the conventional paper setting mechanism. has been done. Note that FIG. 4 shows three cut and raised pieces. The cut-and-raised piece 5 is made by making a notch in one member 12' of the paper guide made of a thin metal plate along the side other than the bottom side D shown in FIG. It can be easily produced by extruding in the opposite direction. A stopper 7 is provided on the upper part of the cut and raised piece 5. Between the cut and raised piece 5 and the other member 12 of the paper guide where the cut and raised piece 5 was not cut and raised,
A spherical or cylindrical roller 6 is placed (a cylindrical roller 6 is shown in FIG. 4). The roller 6 is designed to move freely between the two members 12, 12' of the paper guide, and is held by a stopper 7 on the upper part of the cut and raised piece so that it does not come out of the paper guide.

In such a paper setting mechanism, when setting paper, when paper inserted from below the printer enters the paper guide, the roller 6 is pushed upward as the paper enters (see Fig. 3A).
). Therefore, the paper can smoothly move upward in the paper guide regardless of the rollers 6 (that is, the rollers 6 must be able to easily move upward as the paper enters).
The roller 6 is in the position shown by A in Figure 3 while the paper is moving upward in the paper guide, but the roller 6 reaches the top of the printer to the extent that the paper can be pulled up from the top of the printer, and the paper moves upward from the bottom of the printer. When the feed of the roller 6 is stopped, the roller 6 moves from the position shown by A to the position shown by B in FIG. The other paper guide member 1
2 to a position where the distance from the roller is equal to the size of the roller. Therefore, the paper is sandwiched between the roller 6 and the paper guide member 12, and is held down by the pressure of the roller 6, so that the paper does not return as experienced in conventional mechanisms. Therefore, unlike paper setting in conventional mechanisms, it is necessary to hold the paper inserted from below the printer with one hand under the printer, and then pull the paper out from the top of the printer with the remaining hand while preventing the paper from returning. There is no longer a need for complicated operations. In other words, when the paper inserted from the bottom of the printer has reached the top of the printer and is ready to be pulled out from the top of the printer, if you release your hand from the paper, the paper will be held down by the rollers 6, so it will move backwards. It will not fall below the printer. Therefore, the paper can be pulled out to the top of the printer in a comfortable position, and the paper can be set on the tractor easily without twisting the paper.

In the above embodiment, three cut and raised pieces were provided, but the scope of application of the present invention is not limited to that case, and one piece may be sufficient. Also,
The rollers can be made of metal or other suitable material. Furthermore, the members forming the cut and raised pieces may be reversed from those shown in the drawings.

As explained above, the paper setting mechanism of the present invention facilitates paper setting, which was complicated with conventional mechanisms, and improves machine processing efficiency. Furthermore, the paper setting mechanism of the present invention has a simple structure and is therefore advantageous in terms of cost.
