A conductor dip holder 3 from a torch body (not shown) connected to a conduit tube 2 of a torch nozzle 1 and a contact tip 4 screwed onto the tip thereof are covered with a nozzle tube 5. The contact tip 4 has a wire guide hole 6 in its center, through which a welding wire passes, and guides the wire and supplies power to the wire. The gap between the contact tip 4 and the nozzle tube 5 is used as a shielding gas outflow path 7, and during welding, shielding scum (currently, inexpensive carbon dioxide scum is mainly used instead of inert gas) is discharged from the gas outflow path 7. ) covers the electrode (the above-mentioned welding wire) and the arc from it to the weld metal.

However, spatter scattered by the arc of the welding wire and weld metal during welding enters the gas outlet path 7. When this spatter accumulates, electrical continuity occurs between the contact tip 4 and the nozzle tube 5, and when the nozzle tube 5 approaches the welding base, a short circuit occurs and welding becomes impossible. In this state, it is not possible to make the gas outlet passage 7 that large.
This occurs quite frequently, and the nozzle tube 5 must be removed and cleaned each time. This phenomenon is particularly severe in upward welding, etc., to the point where it is almost impossible to do the work.

FIG. 1 shows the nozzle tube 5 and the top portion of the contact tip 4 cut away, and the same reference numerals as those in FIG. 2 indicate the same parts. A large number of ceramic balls 8 are placed in the gas outlet passage 7 in the gap between the nozzle tube 5 and the contact tip 4, the tip of the contact tip 4 is made into an outer peripheral threaded part 9, and the balls 8 are inserted into the threaded part 9.
The retaining terminal 10 is screwed and fixed. The outer diameter of the terminal 10 is naturally larger than the diameter of the contact tip 4. It is preferable to use a heat-resistant material such as a molybdenum alloy or a tungsten alloy.

FIG. 3 shows the front half of the torch nozzle by cutting off the torch nozzle and cutting off the tip of the contact tip 4 as in FIG. 1, and FIG. 4 is a front view in the direction of arrow A in FIG. 3. The ball retaining terminal is a ball retaining terminal 10a having a large-diameter flange surface 10b that covers the tip surface of the nozzle tube 5 at its tip, and the flange surface 10b as shown in FIG.
A circular hole 11 for shielding gas outflow is provided in a circumferential portion corresponding to the shielding gas outflow path 7. If the ball bale having such a structure is used as a stop terminal, it will serve as a highly functional torch nozzle that also protects the nozzle tube during welding.

There is no fear that the nozzle tube 5 and the contact tip 4 will be short-circuited.
