Conventionally, nipples have been manufactured by using solid rubber such as natural rubber, isoprene rubber, silicone rubber, etc. as the main raw material, and placing a certain amount of this on a predetermined mold and molding it under direct pressure. The materials of the nipples currently sold in Japan are 58% isoprene rubber and silicone rubber.
40%, others 2%. Silicone rubber has been on the rise in recent years because dibutylhydroxyltoluene, which is used as an anti-aging agent in isoprene rubber, has become a safety issue.
In these molding processes, natural rubber and isoprene rubber are mixed in rolls with sulfur as a crosslinking agent, zinc oxide and fatty acids as vulcanization accelerators, rubber elasticity, tear strength, and anti-aging agents, and the raw materials are weighed according to the weight of the product. It is then placed in the cavity of a heat press mold and molded. Similarly, for silicone rubber, the mixed raw materials such as silicone rubber, crosslinking agent, and silicic acid anhydride are weighed out and then placed in the cavity of a hot press mold and molded.

All of the conventional nipple manufacturing methods described above have extremely long molding cycles of 3 to 10 minutes.
The raw materials have to be mixed together, the raw materials for one nipple have to be weighed one by one, and then put into the mold, which is very time consuming and has extremely poor work efficiency.
The drawback was that manufacturing costs were high. Also,
Unless the burr is removed, the physical appearance cannot be achieved, so after the mold is filled with extra material and molded, it is necessary to perform post-processing to remove the burr.

In FIGS. 1 to 3, reference numeral 1 denotes a nipple manufactured by the manufacturing method of the present invention, which is composed of a nipple body 2 and foam members 3 and 4. The nipple main body 2 is injection molded from an elastic material such as silicone rubber or plastic, and has a thick part 6 at the top of the nipple part 5, and an annular protrusion 7 and an annular protrusion 7 on the outer periphery of the opening. It has a collar part 8. The foamed members 3 and 4 are made of polyethylene or polypropylene, etc., and are injection molded to a predetermined density and have a columnar shape with flanges 9 and 10 on the outer periphery to prevent slipping out, and are breathable. The foamed member 3 is embedded in the center of the thick portion 6 formed in the nipple 5 of the nipple body 2 and in a predetermined portion of the flange 8, and the foamed member 3 has its outer end surface 3a flush with the outer surface 5a of the nipple 5. The inner end 3b protrudes into the nipple 5 and is held stationary by the annular protrusion 5b on the inner surface of the nipple 5, and the foam member 4 has its outer end 4a flush with the upper surface 8a of the collar 8. In addition, the lower end portion 4b is made to protrude downward and held by the annular protruding portion 8b, and both end surfaces 3a, 3c, 4a, 4c of each foam member 3, 4 are made to communicate with the inside and outside of the nipple body 2, respectively.

Incidentally, since the surfaces of the injection-molded foamed members 3 and 4 are skin layers and do not have air permeability, both ends of the foamed members 3 and 4 are aligned with the broken lines 11a and 11 in FIG.
b and provide ventilation as described above. In addition, there are usually three types of nipples: S, M, and L, and one of the three types is detachably attached to a baby bottle depending on the sucking power of the infant. By changing the density of 3 and 4 depending on the degree of foaming and molding conditions, three types of nipples, S, M, and L, can be made with high precision. Furthermore, in the above description, the outer end surface 3a of the foamed member 3 and the outer surface 5a of the nipple of the nipple body 2 are on the same plane, but as shown in FIG. The outer end surface 3 of the foamed member 3 is covered with a foamed member 3, and a ventilation hole 12 is formed in the covered portion 5c, or a cross cut is made.
A is communicated with the outside of the nipple body 2.

FIG. 5 shows an apparatus for manufacturing the nipple 1. In the figure, 13 is an upper die of an injection molding machine having a recess 14 having the same shape as the outer surface of the nipple 1, and 15 is an upper mold for the nipple. When the upper mold 13 and the lower mold 15 are joined, the core 16 fits into the recess 14, and a cavity 17 having the same shape as the nipple 1 is formed between them. is formed. Concave holding holes 18 and 1 with approximately the same diameter as the foamed members 3 and 4 and enlarged opening edges are provided at the top of the core 16 and at predetermined portions of the outer peripheral area of the core 16.
9 are formed respectively. Reference numeral 20 denotes a gas vent hole provided in the core 16 and communicated with the holding hole 18 at the top thereof. A runner 21 is formed between the joint surfaces of the upper mold 13 and the lower mold 15, and is communicated with the cavity 17 via a gate 22.

Then, when manufacturing the nipple 1, the foam members 3, 4 are inserted into the holding holes 18 and 19 of the lower mold 15.
After raising and holding the upper mold 13 and lower mold 1,
5 and fit the core 16 into the recess 14. After that, preheated silicone rubber, for example, is press-fitted into the runner 21 by an appropriate means, and the gate 22 is inserted into the runner 21.
The inside of the cavity 17 is filled through. At this time, the air in the cavity 17 is discharged from the gas vent hole 20 via the breathable foam member 3,
Therefore, there is no possibility that the gas will be compressed and burned or that the material will not be filled. When the molding of the nipple 1 is completed, the upper mold 13 is released from the lower mold 15, and then the nipple 1 is removed from the core 16 of the lower mold 15. Thereafter, nipple 1 is manufactured in the same manner.

In the case of nipple molding, the position of the gate becomes a problem because the cavity 17 is deep. For example, the top part of the cavity 17, that is, the upper mold 13 or the lower mold 1
If a gate is provided at 5, the gas in the cavity 17 will escape through the parting line between the upper mold 13 and the lower mold 15, so there will be no problem, but flow marks and gate marks will remain on the nipple, which is inconvenient for the nipple. It is. According to the present invention, the upper mold 13 and the lower mold 1
A gate 22 is provided at the joint with the cavity 5, and when the cavity 17 is filled with preheated silicone rubber, the gas inside the cavity 17 is discharged from the gas vent hole 20 through the foamed member 3 having air permeability. As a result, flow marks and gate marks are not formed on the nipple 5 of the nipple 1, and a glossy nipple can be manufactured.

Further, instead of the foamed member, columnar members 25 and 26 having ventilation passages 23 and 24 may be used, as shown in FIG. Furthermore, if the mold temperature is particularly high, the member 27 may be made by coating a glass fiber bundle with a resin to provide air permeability.
In this case, the degree of breathability can be changed by the degree of coating. Furthermore, in the above embodiment, silicone rubber was used as the material for the nipple body 2, but since the foamed members 3 and 4 perform the sucking function, injection molding is very easy if thermoplastic resin such as vinyl acetate or EVA is used. It is easy to manufacture, and the nipple can be manufactured at a lower cost than silicone rubber nipples, that is, at about one-fifth the cost.

According to the present invention, the raw materials are mixed and viscous as in the past, and the teat 1
There is no longer a need to weigh each individual piece and put it into a mold. As a result, the operator does not have to touch the material of each nipple with his/her hands, which is extremely hygienic and prevents foreign matter from getting mixed in. In addition, the labor of each worker is reduced and work efficiency is greatly improved, making it possible to mass-produce nipples in a short time. Costs are also reduced, making it possible to provide nipples to consumers at low prices. . Furthermore, while conventional nipple manufacturing methods required deburring, the present invention eliminates the need for post-deburring processing, and also ensures that the preheated elastic material is filled into the cavity. By doing so, it is possible to produce glossy nipples without gas burns and without flow marks or gate marks.
