Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the position setting of the upper surface of paper possible without being affected with a folding waviness, by controlling the position of a pushing plate on the basis of the output of a sensor inspecting the upper end position of paper, and providing a movable lever which presses the upper surface of this paper when the upper end position of the paper is set to a predetermined position. CONSTITUTION:After a predetermined quantity of paper has been accumulated on a pushing plate 6, the roller 12 of a movable pressing lever 7 is made to come down and set on the accumulated sheets of paper. At this instance, the upper end position of the accumulated paper is inspected by means of a position inspection sensor 8, and the position of the pushing plate 6 is controlled as being pressed by means of the roller 12 of the movable pressing lever 7, on the basis of the output of this position inspection sensor 8, and the upper end positions of the accumulated sheets of paper are retained at predetermined positions. Thus, the position setting of the upper surface of the paper can be accurately conducted without being affected with a folding waviness by setting the upper end position of the paper to the predetermined position under a condition in which the paper is flatly spread by means of the roller 12 of the movable pressing lever 7.

That is, in the case of a banknote that does not have a tendency to bend, the horizontally installed optical sensor is blocked from light when the banknote actually exists up to that height, but in the case of a banknote that has a tendency to bend,
Because the banknotes on the top have a tendency to bend, both ends are lifted up, making it impossible to obtain the true value.

The above-mentioned object of the present invention is to support one sheet of accumulated paper, and to have a push plate whose position changes according to the amount of accumulated paper, and to receive the paper that is conveyed through the conveyance path. The stacking paper sheet handling device is provided with a movable presser lever that presses the paper sheets accumulated on the push plate from above and a position detection sensor that detects the top end position of one paper sheet, and based on the output of the position detection sensor. This is achieved by a paper sheet handling device characterized in that the upper end position of the paper sheet pressed by the front six movable pressing levers is adjusted to a predetermined position.

In the present invention, when aligning the top surface of one paper sheet, the movable presser lever is used to stretch the paper sheet flatly, so the top edge position of the paper sheet is determined using a one-position detection sensor. By performing alignment, the upper surface of each sheet can be aligned without being affected by the tendency of each sheet to fold.
