Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the simple type spectacles to be used mainly as sun glasses by cutting a polyester or other transparent or semitransparent flexible film into which a photoreactive color forming material is incorporated to a proper shape and thermally deforming this film to a roll shape. CONSTITUTION:The transparent or semitransparent polyester film formed by incorporating an org. photochromic compd. of, for example, a spirooxazine system which is the photoreactive color forming material therein is cut to the shape of general spectacles slightly larger than the width size of a face exclusive of temples. This film is then deformed to a roll shape by applying <=250 deg.C heat thereto. The inexpensive spectacles 1 having the shape like the shape of the film of a camera are thus obtd. The spectacles 1 are used by developing the same as shown in the figure and wearing the spectacles on the face A in the same manner as with general spectacles. Since both ends thereof are brought into pressurized contact with both side faces by recovering force, the slip down is obviated even if the spectacles have no temples. The inexpensive spectacles which are easy to carry are thereby obtd. The use of the spectacles as sunglasses is possible as well if the spectacles are used in a place where UV rays are strong.

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) When the above-mentioned conventional glasses are folded and carried in an accessory case with other accessories, they become bulky, making it inconvenient and difficult to carry them in the accessory case. There are inconveniences such as being expensive and unprofitable when distributing them to participants when they are used only from time to time.

(Means for Solving the Problems) The present invention is proposed to solve the above-mentioned disadvantages, and the glasses according to claim 1 are made of polyester or other transparent or translucent flexible film mixed with a photoreactive coloring material. is cut into an appropriate shape and then thermally deformed into a roll shape.
The glasses according to claim 2 are made by cutting polyester or other transparent or semi-transparent flexible film to which a film of photoreactive coloring material is attached, and then thermally deforming the film into a roll shape. The glasses are made by cutting a transparent or translucent flexible film such as polyester or other transparent or translucent film coated with a photoreactive coloring material paint or ink into an appropriate shape, and then thermally deforming the film into a B-shape.

(Function) The glasses according to claims 1 to 3 having the above configurations are unfolded and worn in the same way as ordinary glasses. in this case,
Because the restoring force of the glasses presses both ends of the glasses against both sides of the face, they do not slip off. In places where ultraviolet rays are strong, such as at the beach or in the mountains, the photoreactive coloring material of these glasses changes color from colorless to blue, acting as sunglasses.

In Figures 1 and 2, I is a transparent or semi-transparent polyester film mixed with a photoreactive coloring material such as a spirooxazine-based organic phosphor (manufactured by Nippon Chemistry Co., Ltd.). These are inexpensive glasses that are cut into the shape of a single thick piece of glasses, and then heated to below 250 degrees Celsius to transform them into a roll shape, resembling camera film.

When using these glasses, unfold them as shown in Figure 3.
They are worn on the face A like regular glasses, and their restoring force presses both ends of the glasses against both sides of the face, so they will not fall off even if they do not have a clasp. In areas exposed to strong ultraviolet rays, the photorome changes color from colorless to bluish-purple, from colorless to blue, from colorless to yellow, from colorless to red, etc., and acts as sunglasses.

When the glasses 1 are removed from the face, they return to a roll shape due to their restoring force, so they can be stored in a cylindrical case 2 made of plastic similar to camera film, as shown in FIG. Therefore, they do not get bulky like regular glasses and can be easily carried in an accessory case. In the above examples, a polyester film mixed with Photorome powder was used, but a transparent or translucent polyester film with Photorome film attached may also be used, or a polyester film coated with Photorome paint or Photorome ink may be used. A film may also be used.
