Abstract

PURPOSE:To form an embossed figure on the surface while obviating the necessity of particular treatment such as surface preparation and to obtain wide range of purposes by carrying out plating by using a hot dip galvanizing bath in which specific amounts of Ti and Al are incorporated. CONSTITUTION:The hot dip galvanizing bath having a composition consisting of 0.01-1% Ti, 0.001-0.1% Al, and the balance Zn is prepared. Subsequently, hot dip galvanizing is applied to the surface of a material to be plated by using the above plating bath. By this method, a raised-embossed figure formed into pear skin-like, melon pattern-like, crepey, or other states on the surface can be obtained.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a hot-dip galvanizing method, and particularly to a hot-dip galvanizing method capable of producing an embossed pattern only by hot-dip galvanizing. The present invention is suitably used for outdoor structures and interior decoration materials that require a profound texture and luxurious feel, and can also be used for guardrails, soundproof walls, etc. that do not want strong reflections.

In recent years, hot-dip galvanizing has been widely recognized for its high rust-preventing ability, and has been widely adopted as a surface coating for outdoor structures and the like. Furthermore, taking advantage of the unique surface color and gloss of hot-dip galvanized products, they are increasingly being used for interior decoration, and are attracting attention.

Although hot-dip galvanizing has been widely used in this way, paint is applied to the surface of hot-dip galvanized structures in outdoor structures for the purpose of harmonizing with the environment and adding a sense of luxury. Furthermore, with the aim of creating an even more luxurious feel, attempts are being made to add embossed patterns such as satin-like or melon-like patterns instead of the flat surface finish of hot-dip galvanized materials. .

Traditionally, the surface of a hot-dip galvanized product is a smooth surface that directly reflects the surface condition of the steel to be plated. However, no technology has yet been developed to create an embossed pattern on the plated surface using only hot-dip galvanizing.

Conventionally, the methods for applying an embossed pattern surface finish are: - For example, blasting the steel material to be plated in advance to create irregularities on the steel surface and then hot-dip galvanizing, and - Applying surface painting after hot-dip galvanizing. There are two methods: After the painting process, a special emboss finish is applied, such as roller pressing with an embossed pattern or lightly pressing plywood with an embossed pattern. ■Again, when the surface is painted after hot-dip galvanizing. A method has been used in which the surface is first hot-dip galvanized, then the surface is blasted and then painted.

However, the method (2) of subjecting the pre-plated steel to, for example, blasting, naturally increases the processing cost, and furthermore, the uneven pattern formed on the steel base material is damaged by the plating layer. There was a problem in that the original intended pattern was attenuated and difficult to reproduce as is. ■The method of applying a special embossed finish after painting is difficult to implement, has restrictions on application, and cannot produce deep embossed patterns. Method (2) of applying surface painting after hot-dip galvanizing involves removing the hot-dip galvanizing layer that has been applied, and is not recommended for corrosion resistance. If deep gouges occur in the plating layer, corrosion may occur from there. A serious problem arose in that the disease progressed rapidly.

The purpose of the present invention is to eliminate the need for preliminary preparation of the surface by blasting the steel to be plated, etc., which was indispensable in the conventional technology for hot-dip galvanized products with embossed patterns. To develop a method for manufacturing a hot-dip galvanized product or a coated product with an embossed pattern by a simple method without requiring any special treatment or modification of normal hot-dip galvanizing operations.

As a result of repeated studies to achieve the above-mentioned objective, the present inventors have come to the conclusion that the most suitable method is to add special elements to the hot-dip galvanizing bath. As a result of many studies, it has been found that the combination of specific amounts of titanium (Ti) and aluminum (AI) is optimal.

The present invention does not require any changes to the normal hot-dip galvanizing operation;
By adding 0.01-1.0% titanium and 0.001-0.1% aluminum to a normal hot-dip galvanizing bath, a plated surface with an embossed pattern that cannot be obtained with conventional hot-dip galvanizing baths is created. The basic principle is to do so.

The hot-dip galvanizing bath in the present invention contains 0.01 to 1.
0% titanium and O1O○1-0.1% aluminum are added. When the titanium content is less than 0.01%, no embossed pattern appears. On the other hand, if it exceeds 1.0%, -
Non-plating occurs with a type of flux. If the aluminum content is less than 0.001%, various colors will occur on the plated surface, and although such coloring may be preferred, it is not preferred from the basic purpose of obtaining the original color of hot-dip galvanizing close to silver. Furthermore, if the amount of aluminum is small, a matte pattern is likely to occur instead of an embossed pattern. When the aluminum content exceeds 0.1%, non-plating tends to occur.

The bath temperature is generally selected in the range of 430 to 620°C depending on the bath composition, but when the concentration of added elements is low (Ti = 0.5% or less), the temperature is extremely normally 440 to 480°C. However, as the concentration of added elements increases, it is necessary to shift the bath temperature to a higher temperature.
For example, when the Ti concentration is about 1%, a temperature of about 600° C. is selected.

The galvanizing operation itself is basically the same as the conventional method. This is also a feature of the present invention. This is carried out by immersing the material to be plated in a bath of molten zinc containing the required additives.

Furthermore, by applying various paints to the plating surface,
Surface protection and further improvement of appearance are possible. Transparent paint is used to express the hue of the plating surface as is, and colored paint is used to adjust the shade of the hue. As the paint, synthetic resin paints such as polyurethane, acrylic, and epoxy, and water-based paints are used, and water-based paints are particularly preferred. All can be applied by brush, spray, or dip application. The adhesion of the paint is also good.

The effect that the surface of regular j and Hirosato embossed patterns can be obtained only by hot-dip galvanizing is significant, and there is no need for preliminary preparation costs, and there is no need to go through a special painting process, and the coating can be applied according to the purpose. A hot-dip galvanized product with an embossed pattern can be obtained. The resulting embossed pattern surface is beautiful, luxurious, solid, etc., and does not sacrifice its original corrosion resistance in any way. Therefore, it is suitably used for outdoor structures such as various wall surfaces. It can be used for interior decoration, or even when used as is on the plated surface, giving it a profound texture. It is expected to be applied to a wide range of applications, both indoors and outdoors.

Furthermore, as a ripple effect, the strong reflection of light, which is considered a problem in some areas with general hot-dip galvanized surfaces, is suppressed, so it is effective in terms of safety measures for road facilities such as guardrails, soundproof walls, and tunnel interior materials. It's also big.
