【考案の詳細な説明】 〈技術分野〉 本考案は液晶表示素子と該液晶表示素子の駆動
回路基板とを一体化してなる液晶表示ユニツトに
関する。

〈従来技術〉 従来、液晶表示素子と該液晶表示素子の駆動回
路基板とを一体化してなる液晶表示ユニツトに於
て一般的な構造は第1図に示す如くである。即
ち、2枚のガラス基板間に液晶を封入してなり、
その上面及び下面に偏光板が貼り付けられる液晶
セル1と、該液晶セル1の駆動回路が搭載された
駆動回路基板2とが導電性ゴムコネクター3にて
電気的に接続がなされ、メタル製アングル4にて
液晶セル1を駆動回路基板2に固定して組込みが
なされていた。しかし、以上の従来の液晶表示ユ
ニツトに於いては特に大型の液晶セルを用いた高
密度表示素子の場合に液晶セル1の電極端子と駆
動回路基板2との間の位置ズレを生じ易く、その
為に位置合わせ及び組込みにかなり手間を要し
た。特に駆動回路基板2の一方の端部を液晶セル
1の片方の電極端子と接続する場合には同一の平
面上で接続することができるが、その後、駆動回
路基板2の他方の端部を液晶セル1の残りの電極
端子と接続して一体化する場合には駆動回路基板
2と液晶セル1を積層状態とした後接続固定する
ことを要求されるため、作業性が極めて悪くな
る。又湿気により液晶セル1の電極端子と導電性
ゴムコネクター3との間の界面でリークが発生す
るという欠点をも有していた。

とによつて、電気的接続の確実化を図りながら
も、製造過程に於ける位置合わせ及び組込みに要
する時間の短縮化を図ることを目的とする。

〈実施例〉 以下本考案に係る液晶表示ユニツトの一実施例
について説明する。

第2図aは本考案に係る液晶表示ユニツトの一
実施例の組立てる過程の側面図である。5は2枚
のガラス基板間に液晶を封入してなり、その上面
及び下面に偏光板が貼り付けられる液晶セルであ
つて、該液晶セル5のセグメント側基板の端部に
設けられた電極端子と駆動回路基板6との間がフ
レキシブルプリント基板7(ソニーケミカル社の
異方性導電膜等)を用いてヒートシールによつて
接続される。フレキシブルプリント基板7を折り
曲げた時液晶セル5と駆動回路基板6とによつて
プラスチツク樹脂からなるシヤーシ8が挾持され
る。該シヤーシ8の平面図を第2図bに、又、側
面図を第2図cに示す。シヤーシ8の4隅には駆
動回路基板6の位置合せ及びガタツキの防止を行
なう突起8aが設けられる。又、シヤーシ8の中
央には駆動回路基板6と係合するT形状の突起8
bが設けられる。該T形状の突起8bの側部には
駆動回路基板6の挿入を容易にするテーパーが形
成される。

アングル9の周縁に爪9aが形成される。この固
定アングル9の爪9aは2枚の駆動回路基板6,
6の周縁に形成された穴に通されてから折り曲げ
られ駆動回路基板6,6を固定するものである。
又、シヤーシ8の中央のT形状の突起8bによつ
て駆動回路基板6,6は固定される。

〈効果〉 本考案によれば液晶セルと2枚に分割された駆

ーシの溝へ挿入するのみで容易に固定することが
できるので大型の液晶セルであつてもその接続状
態は良好であり、リーク等が発生する虞れがな
い。又、駆動回路基板の組込みを容易にしかも効
率良くユニツト化できるものである。
