Abstract

PURPOSE:To contrive the reduction of electric power consumption and noise and the improvement of the durability of a cooling fan by detecting the commencement/completion of recording and reproducing and operating/stopping the cooling fan accordingly. CONSTITUTION:When a sensor 1 detects the insertion of an information recording carrier, its detecting signal is outputted to a D-type FF circuit 2. The circuit 2 turns on a cooling fan driving switch 4 upon receipt of the output of the sensor 1. Consequently, the fan 6 is supplied with an electric power from a driving electric power source 5 to start the operation. Then, on completion of recording or reproducing, the sensor 1 detects the ejection of the information recording carrier, so as to turn off the switch 4 via the circuit 2. Therefore, the fan 6 is only driven when the information recording carrier is inserted, thus reducing the electric power consumption and noise and also improving the durability of the cooling fan.

[Prior Art] There are two types of information recording and reproducing devices: optical and magnetic. In recent years, the optical type has attracted attention due to its large storage capacity and other reasons. All of these information recording and reproducing apparatuses employ a method of making effective use of the recording area on the surface of the information recording carrier by linearly reciprocating or rotating the information recording carrier. However, the electric motor for linearly reciprocating or rotating the information recording carrier consumes more power than other information processing systems. Therefore, in order to suppress the heat generated by the electric motor, a cooling fan is used to reduce the heat generation part. Cooling is performed, and conventionally, the driving of this cooling fan is started when the information recording/reproducing apparatus is powered on and stopped when the information recording/reproducing apparatus is powered off.

[Problems to be solved by the invention] However, in an information recording/reproducing device, power consumption increases only while an information recording carrier is attached, and power consumption does not increase as much while on standby, requiring cooling. However, in the conventional method, as long as the power is on, the cooling fan continues to operate even when no information storage carrier is installed, which conversely increases power consumption and causes noise. Become. Furthermore, driving the cooling fan at times other than when necessary has the problem of accelerating the wear and tear of the motor of the cooling fan.

The sensor l is arranged near the upper part of the information recording carrier insertion lower, and its output is connected to the D-type flip-flop circuit 2 as described above, and also to the drive circuit of the electric motor 8. A pulley 9 is attached to the rotating shaft of the electric motor 8, and the pulley 9 is attached to a power transmission member 10 such as a belt.
The rollers lla and 12a are connected to each other via the rollers lla and 12a, and rollers llb and 12b are installed in pairs above the rollers lla and 12a, respectively.

The sensor l is composed of, for example, a photo interrupter, a photo reflector, etc., and generates one pulse signal when the information recording carrier is inserted and ejected. Further, the reset switch 3 is operated in conjunction with the power switch of the device, and the cooling fan drive switch 4 is turned off when the output of the D-type flip-flop circuit 2 is at a low level, and turned on when it is at a high level. It is a switch that becomes the state. The overall configuration of the information reproducing/recording equipment section is as follows.

First, when the information recording/reproducing apparatus is powered off, the reset switch 3 is in an OFF state, so the D-type flip-flop circuit 2 is in a reset state. Therefore, the circuit does not operate and the cooling fan drive switch 4 is in an open state, and the cooling fan 6 is not supplied with power and is not driven.Next, when the information recording and reproducing apparatus is powered on, the reset switch 3 is turned on. state, press reset switch 3.
is released from the reset state. However, when no information recording carrier is inserted, no pulse is output from the sensor 1 and the output of the D-type flip-flop circuit 2 is at a low level, so the cooling fan drive switch 4 is open and the cooling fan 6 is driven. do not.

Therefore, the cooling fan 6 receives power from the driving power source 5 and starts operating. On the other hand, the electric motor 8 also starts driving, the pulley 9 rotates, and its power is transmitted to the rollers 11a and 12a via the power transmission member 10. When the recording and reproduction of information is completed by a known method, the information recording carrier is ejected in the direction of the insertion lower. At this time, the sensor 1 detects the ejection of the information recording carrier again and activates the D-type flip-flop circuit 2 and the electric motor 41. Outputs the detection signal to the drive circuit of !8. The electric motor 8 stops driving, and the output of the D-type flip-flop circuit 2 becomes low level. Therefore, the cooling fan drive switch 4 becomes open, and the cooling fan 6 stops operating. In this way, the cooling fan 6 can be driven only when the information recording carrier is inserted, that is, when the electric motor 8 is driven.

In this embodiment, the cooling fan 6 is driven and stopped by the output of the sensor l provided near the insertion lower, but other means may also be used. It is also possible to adopt a configuration in which the cooling fan 6 is driven and stopped by determining the presence or absence of an information recording carrier near the head or whether or not the recording/reproducing head is energized. Further, in this embodiment, the cooling fan 6 is stopped at the same time as the information recording carrier is ejected, but if the cooling fan 6 is configured to be stopped after a certain period of time after the information recording carrier is ejected, the number of times the cooling fan 6 is started can be reduced. The load upon starting the cooling fan 6 can be reduced. Furthermore, if the set time is set to a time sufficient for cooling the equipment, a more effective cooling effect can be obtained.

[Effects of the Invention] As explained above, the information recording and reproducing device according to the present invention has the following advantages:
