Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform precise positioning and prevent a high-voltage discharge by constituting one of containers with a metal and positioning and fixing an electron beam control means in this metal container using no spring against a phosphor screen provided in the other container. CONSTITUTION:A metal container 2 is made of a sealing metal to match its thermal expansion coefficient with that of glass. An electron beam control means 3 is fitted and arranged by welding or screws in the containers 1 and 2 with fixing metals 4 fitted to the container 2 by welding. A phosphor screen 5 is provided on the inner face of the transparent section of the container 1, an insulating film 6 is provided on the container 2 except for the fitting sections of the fixing metals 4. The electron beam control means is fixed in the container using no spring, thereby the aging displacement with the phosphor screen is reduced, the distance between the phosphor screen and terminals and others on the low-voltage side along the inner face of the container is extended, thus a high-voltage discharge is prevented.

Furthermore, a connection terminal 16 from the electron beam control means
In No. 24, a strip-shaped terminal of a glass sealing metal was treated with chromium oxide and removed from the adhesive surface of a glass container. Therefore, since there are a large number of terminals, there are problems such as vacuum leakage from the adhesive surface of the glass container, poor positional accuracy that tends to cause short-circuits between the terminals, and difficulty in connecting to a printed wiring board.

Function: The present invention uses the above-described structure to fix the electron beam control means in the container without using a spring, thereby reducing positional deviation with respect to the phosphor screen over time. In addition, high voltage discharge is eliminated by increasing the distance between the phosphor screen, the terminal on the low 1E voltage side, and others along the inner surface of the container. Moreover, the metal container can be easily attached to the cabinet by providing a hole in the metal container. Terminal reliability is improved by providing a wiring pattern on the insulating film.

Embodiment Hereinafter, an image display device according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 shows the configuration of an image display device in an embodiment of the present invention. In FIG. 1, 1 is a glass container and 2 is a metal container. This metal container 2 is made of a so-called sealing metal in order to match the thermal expansion coefficient with that of glass. An electron beam control means 3 is disposed within the containers 1 and 2 by being attached by welding or screws using a fixing fitting 4 which is attached to the container 2 by means of welding or the like. Further, the container 1 is provided with a phosphor screen 5 on the inner surface of its transparent portion. An insulating film e is provided on the container 2 except for the part where the fixing fitting 4 is attached. This insulating film 6 can be formed by screen printing a glass adhesive, by thermal spraying a ceramic material, or by other methods. Further, on this insulating film 6, a wiring pattern is provided from the inside to the outside of the container 1.degree. This wiring pattern 7 can be formed by a method such as thick film printing. The wiring pattern 7, a plurality of terminals of the electron beam control means 3, and the container 1,
Connected within 2. Further, the containers 1 and 2 are pasted together using a glass adhesive 8, and the insides of the containers 1 and 2 are maintained in a vacuum. Further, the container 2 is attached to a cabinet (not shown) through holes 9 provided at the four corners.

次に、この一実施例の構成における作用を説明する。Next, the operation of the configuration of this embodiment will be explained.

Next, by providing the wiring pattern 7, vacuum reliability is improved compared to the conventional method in which metal terminals are sandwiched between the adhesive surfaces of the container 1.2. There are no holes, no misalignment of terminal positions due to deformation of conventional metal terminals, and no short-circuits between terminals.

1. By eliminating the fixing bolts and springs that were present in conventional containers, there is sufficient distance between the phosphor screen on the high voltage side and the terminal on the low voltage side, making it possible to reduce the size of the container, making it thinner and lighter. It is also possible to achieve this.
