With such a configuration, when the switch 51 for making a call is turned on, the control circuit 52 detects this fact, and the control circuit 52 switches the switching circuit 53 to the control circuit 52 side, and the relay contact rl Four ,
rl 5 and relay contact rl 1 are turned on to form a DC loop with the exchange. When the push button dial 31 is operated in this state, the operation information is temporarily stored in the control circuit 52 and then read out and guided to the dial signal sending circuit 32. As a result, the dial signal sending circuit 32 transmits the operation information to the dial signal sending circuit 32. A corresponding dialing signal is generated and sent to the subscriber line 1. When the transmission of the dial signal is completed, the line switching relay contacts rl 2 and rl 3 are switched to the main body of the facsimile apparatus.

On the other hand, a busy tone is returned from the exchange because the other party's device is busy, and when this is recognized by the control circuit 52, a return signal is issued from the control circuit 52, and as a result, relay contacts RL 4 and RL 5 and the DC loop are maintained. The relay contacts rl 1 for the telephone return to their respective states and the DC loop with the exchange is broken, and at the same time, the relay contacts rl 2 and rl 3 switch to the telephone side and return to the standby state. In this state, the control circuit 52 operates its own recall timer and starts counting time. When a certain period of time has elapsed after the start of this time measurement, the control circuit 52 performs a recall operation. In other words, the switching circuit 53 is switched and each relay contact rl 1 , rl 4 , rl 5 is turned on to close the DC loop, and then the dial operation information stored at the time of the first call is transferred to the control circuit. 52 and supplied to the dial signal sending circuit 32, from which the dial signal is sent. Thereafter, a response signal from the partner device is monitored, and if this signal is a transmission permission signal, an image signal is transmitted. On the other hand, if the busy tone is returned again, the device returns to the standby state again in the same way as the first call, and a time counting operation is performed to repeat the re-call operation.

In this embodiment, the calling switch 5
1 and dialing, the series of operations from calling to sending image signals will be performed automatically without having to take the handset off the hook, check the status of the communication partner, disconnect the line, etc. Therefore, facsimile transmission can be performed extremely easily. Therefore, operability can be improved. In addition, in this embodiment, if the other party's device is busy, a timer for re-calling is activated and the re-calling is performed after a certain period of time has elapsed. Thereafter, there is no need to monitor the operation of the device, and as a result, transmission can be performed simply by turning on the call switch 51, which greatly reduces operator intervention time and labor. It can be reduced. Furthermore, since the automatic calling operation described above is controlled by adding a slight function to the control means conventionally provided in the main body of the facsimile apparatus, there is an advantage that the structure can be relatively simple.

As described in detail above, the present invention newly includes a call switch, a switch circuit that short-circuits both ends of the telephone's switch, and control means, and the control means turns on the call switch. At this time, the switch circuit is closed to enable the dial information input means and the dial signal output circuit of the telephone to send a dial signal, and after the dial signal is transmitted, the switch circuit is opened and the line changeover switch is switched to the telephone side. The main unit of the facsimile machine maintains the calling state for the line, and in this state, the call status of the other party's device is determined. If the other party's device is able to communicate as a result of this determination, the line switching switch is switched. This switching state is maintained on the main body of the facsimile device, and if communication is not possible with the other party's device, the line changeover switch is restored to the telephone side.
