Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording sheet which intercepts UV rays and is resistant to light, by dispersing fine particles of ZnO on a thermal recording paper or providing a coated film comprising the fine particles on the recording paper. CONSTITUTION:A UV barrier layer comprising ZnO particles is provided on a thermal color forming layer, or the ZnO particles are dispersed in the color forming layer. The ZnO particles are extremely finely shaped to have a particle diameter of 0.01-0.1mum, so that when a coating film comprising the ZnO particles is formed or the ZnO particles are mixed in the color forming layer, UV rays are intercepted, however, visible rays are favorably transmitted. Thus, a light transmittance of about 80% is obtained, and recorded images can be visually verified favorably.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION [Field of Industrial Application] The present invention relates to a heat-sensitive recording sheet on which recording is performed using a heat-sensitive head. [Prior Art] This type of heat-sensitive recording sheet forms a colored image by heating, and is widely used in various fields because of its simple recording method and good print quality. This type of heat-sensitive recording sheet includes, for example, a color-forming substance such as a colorless or light-colored leuco dye, an acidic substance such as boric acid or tartaric acid, or a phenolic substance such as naphthol or resorcinol to cause the color-forming substance to develop a specific color under heat. A color developing substance and a binder, and if necessary, additives such as pigments such as calcium carbonate, waxes, antifoaming agents, etc. are mixed using a suitable solvent to form a heat-sensitive coating liquid, For example, a sheet-like support is coated with an amount of ~10 g/m''.However, this type of heat-sensitive recording sheet is easily discolored by plastics such as polyvinyl chloride, fingerprints, highlighters, etc. Uncolored areas easily develop color with organic solvents such as alcohol, resulting in insufficient storage stability. For this reason, various measures have been taken to improve storage stability. Typically, a protective layer (overcoat layer) is provided to cover the heat-sensitive coloring layer formed as described above.Providing such a protective layer prevents discoloration of colored areas or uncolored areas. Efforts have been made to improve solvent resistance to prevent coloration, etc., or to improve protection against thermal radiation, etc. [Problems to be solved by the invention]. In addition to the above-mentioned solvents, factors that cause discoloration include light, especially ultraviolet rays. For example, if the heat-sensitive recording paper formed in the manner described above is printed in a prescribed manner and exposed to direct light, the color will fade significantly over time. However, there was a drawback that it became impossible to read after a long period of time. This is because light, especially ultraviolet light, affects the coloring components. [Means to solve the problem] For this reason, this method In the invention, ZnO particles formed into extremely fine particles are used to block ultraviolet rays.As a means for this purpose, an ultraviolet blocking layer containing these ZnO particles is formed on the heat-sensitive coloring layer, or ,
These ZnO particles were directly dispersed in the heat-sensitive coloring layer. [Function] ZnO particles have a particle size of 0.01 μn to 0.1 un
Because it is formed in extremely fine particles, when it is mixed into a paint film or coloring layer, it blocks ultraviolet rays but allows visible rays to pass through effectively. According to the invention, the light transmittance is about 80%
This allows the recorded print to be visually recognized with good effect. [Example] As described above, the present invention efficiently blocks ultraviolet rays using ZnO fine particles and improves light resistance. EXAMPLES Hereinafter, the present invention will be explained in detail by showing Examples and Comparative Examples. First, a first embodiment of the present invention will be described. The above-mentioned liquids A, B, C and polyvinyl apacol were mixed in a ratio of 1:4:1:2, respectively, to form a heat-sensitive liquid, which was coated on a commercially available high-quality paper to form a heat-sensitive coloring layer. Next, 30 parts by weight of ZnO particles with a particle size of 0.01 um to 11 m and 100 parts by weight of a 5% polyvinyl alcohol aqueous solution were mixed to form a coating liquid, and this coating liquid was applied onto the above-mentioned heat-sensitive coloring layer. A thermosensitive recording sheet (Example) was obtained according to the invention. Next, a second embodiment of the present invention will be described. 90 parts by weight of water The above-mentioned liquids A, B, C and polyvinyl aparcoal were mixed in a ratio of 1:4:1:2 to form a heat-sensitive coating liquid, which was coated on commercially available high-quality paper. A heat-sensitive recording sheet (Example 2) was formed. In addition, as a comparative example of the above-mentioned example, a heat-sensitive recording sheet formed by substantially the same method as described above except for the ZnO particles was used. Test Printing was performed using a thermal pen recorder on each of the three heat-sensitive recording sheets described above. Next, each printed heat-sensitive recording sheet was exposed to fluorescent light (5
000 watt) for 100 hours, and the degree of discoloration was measured. The measurement results are shown in the figure. [Effects of the Invention] As explained above, since the Z n O9 particles are dispersed or formed into a coating film on the heat-sensitive recording paper, it is possible to block ultraviolet rays and form a light-resistant heat-sensitive recording sheet.
