Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to uniformly and safely polish the outer surface of a wrapper roller mounted on a rolled steel strip winding device with the use of a polishing belt, by fitting a drum member removably on a mandrel in the rolled steel strip winding device, and by fastening the polishing belt onto the drum so that the polishing band covers the outer peripheral surface of the drum. CONSTITUTION:A mandrel 1 whose diameter has been reduced, is fitted thereonto with a drum member 11 in a wrapper roller polishing jig. Thereafter, the mandrel 1 is enlarged in its diameter so as to fix the jig on the mandrel 1. Then, wrapper roller 4a through 4d are lightly pressed onto a polishing belt 13 which is fastened to the drum member 11 so as to cover the outer peripheral surface of the drum member 11, and the mandrel 1 and the wrapper rollers 4a through 4d are rotated relative to each other. As a result, the wrapper rollers 4a through 4d are rotated while they are pressed at pressing points by the wrapper rollers 4a through 4d on the polishing belt 13, thereby the four wrapper rollers 4a through 4d are surface-polished simultaneously and uniformly.

(Prior art and its problems) In a steel strip manufacturing line, the final point of the rolling process is equipped with a device for winding up the steel strip that has already been rolled to a predetermined thickness in the previous process. . The strip winding section of this rolled steel strip winding device generally has a structure as shown in FIG. FIG. 5 is a conceptual diagram for explaining the positional relationship of each element when the winding section of the winding device is viewed from the axial direction of the device.

The mandrel 1 is made up of four expansion/contraction segments each having a predetermined wall thickness, one end of which is connected to a drive mechanism (not shown), and the other free end of which has an expansion/contraction structure, so that the entire segment can be expanded/contracted in the radial direction. ing.

These trumpet rollers 4a to 4d rotate themselves, for example, in the direction of the arrow P by a drive mechanism attached to each one, and also rotate the mandrel 1 by a pneumatic mechanism (not shown) or the like.

When a predetermined length of the rolled steel strip 3 is wound onto the mandrel 1, measures are taken to prevent the steel strip from unwinding, the pressing operation is stopped, the diameter of the mandrel 1 is reduced, and the rolled bundle of steel strips is rolled onto the mandrel. This flaw on the surface of the wrapper roller frequently occurs at the beginning of winding of the rolled steel strip. This is because the tip of the steel strip to be wound collides with the wrapper rollers 4a to 4d in sequence.

Once a flaw is formed on the surface of the wrapper roller, this flaw is continuously transferred to the surface of the steel strip that is being wound up while being pressed by these rollers, causing flaws in the steel band as well. Steel winding bundles may be defective.

Therefore, when operating the winding device, the operator always observes and inspects the surface of the wrapper roller for any flaws.
In addition, the surface of the wrapper roller is polished quite frequently.

The conventional polishing work described above is basically a manual work. That is, when polishing the surface of the wrapper roller, the operator first stops the operation of the entire apparatus, then inserts his or her body into the space formed by the mandrel 1 and each of the rough rollers 4a to 4d.
The surface of each rough par roller is sequentially polished using, for example, an electric grinder held in hand.

However, the polishing work described above is dangerous because it is carried out in a narrow space with poor footing. Furthermore, since the individual wrapper rollers are manually polished one after another using a grinder, the work requires a relatively long time, and the smoothness of the surface after polishing is likely to vary.

In this state, relative rotational movement is performed between the mandrel and the wrapper roller. Since the wrapper roller rotates while being pressed at the pressing point by the roller 7 of the polishing band of the jig, the surfaces of the four wrapper rollers are simultaneously polished. If each wrapper roller applies equal pressure to the polishing band, there will be no variation in the polishing of each wrapper roller.

A side surface 11 is provided on the outer peripheral surface of the outer curved plate 11g of the divided block.
A cushioning material 12 such as a felt material is adhesively fixed to the side surface 11i from the point h to the side surface 11i using, for example, an adhesive, and furthermore, on the top surface of the cushioning material 12, from the side surface 11h to the side surface 11i.
A sandpaper-like polishing band 13 having abrasive grains fixed to its surface is also adhesively fixed thereto using an adhesive. In this case, the cushioning material 12 exerts a negative effect on the wrapper roller pressed against the polishing band 13.

(Effects of the Invention) The brush roller polishing jig of the present invention includes a drum body that is removably fitted onto a mandrel of a rolled steel strip winding device, and a drum body that is fixed so as to cover the outer peripheral surface of the drum body. Since the wrapper roller is configured with a polishing band for polishing it, the jig is fitted onto the mandrel of the winding device, the wrapper roller to be polished is pressed against the polishing band on the outer peripheral surface, and the wrapper roller itself is rotated. The surface of the wrapper roller can be polished without using human power. Therefore, dangers as in conventional polishing operations are eliminated.

Furthermore, polishing can be completed in an extremely short time compared to when it is done manually, so there is no need to worry about a drop in the operating rate of the equipment. In addition, by appropriately selecting the pressing force of the wrapper roller on the polishing band, polishing can be completed in an extremely short time compared to manual work. It can be done evenly.
