それらのうち2本の放電管の端部に電極を設け、同様に
口金を設けた蛍光灯も知られている(特開昭62−21
7526号公報)。そして、このような複数の直管形放
電管は次のようにして連通される。すなわち、複数の直
管形放電管となるべきガラス管の連通予定部を加熱軟化
した後、ガラス管端部に設けられた排気管を通してこの
ガラス管内にエアーを導入することにより、前記連通予
定部をそれぞれ吹き破って、各々の部分に膨出部を形成
し、膨出部同士を溶着して複数のガラス管を連結するも
