Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a ceiling from sagged by the dead weight in a room under a high-humidity environment by setting the ceiling material body to an impregnated layer of thermosetting resin by some depth from the rear face toward the inside. CONSTITUTION: A ceiling material body 1 is set to an impregnated layer 3 of a thermosetting resin by the depth of 10-50% of the thickness of the ceiling body 1 from the rear face 2 toward the inside. This constitution can hardly cause the lowering in the strength even in a case of absorbing the humidity, because the resin-impregnated layer 3 has some extent of thickness.

(Conventional technology and its problems) Ceiling materials (^) made of fiberboard made from mineral fiberboards such as rock wool have traditionally had heat insulation, fire retardant properties,
Due to its excellent sound absorption properties, it is widely used as a ceiling material for buildings and other structures.

However, ceiling materials made of mineral fiberboard (^) use a binder mainly consisting of starch, which can achieve a large binding effect with a small amount of addition, so there is a drawback in terms of moisture resistance. If it is formed on a ceiling material (^), it is likely to cause so-called sag, where the center part sags due to its own weight as it absorbs moisture, especially when the ceiling material (^) is constructed and supported between T-shaped bars (4) using the drop-in method. had the disadvantage that a large sag occurred because the central portion was not supported in any way.

In order to eliminate such defects, it is possible to impregnate the entire ceiling material body (1) with a binder with excellent water resistance such as phenolic resin, or apply a thin layer of resin directly to the back surface 2) of the ceiling material body (1). It was suggested that something be done.

However, in the case of the former, the entire ceiling material (Δ) is cured with resin, so when the ceiling is installed, the ceiling material (^)
The resin coating layer (5) hardens to the surface side, has poor sound absorption properties, and tends to generate echoes, and also has the disadvantage that the zag improvement effect, which is the main objective, is even poorer. In the latter case, the resin coating layer (5) shrinks and the entire ceiling material (^) warps, and when it absorbs moisture, the thin coating layer (5) does not show enough strength to prevent sag, which has the disadvantage of causing sag. However, it was not possible to achieve satisfactory sag prevention.

The mineral fiber used in the present invention is mainly rock wool, and the following description will focus on rock wool. First, a wet mat (B) is formed by mixing and forming rock wool with other materials such as a binder, a thickener, a filler, and water. Subsequently, a thermosetting resin is impregnated from the upper part of the wet mat (B) to a thickness of 10 to 50% of the entire board thickness to form a resin-impregnated layer (3).

The resin used is, for example, a melamine resin emulsion, and the resin addition rate is preferably in the range of 1 to 10% in solid resin content based on the total dry weight of the rock wool mat (B). That is, if the addition rate is too low, the hardness of the resin-impregnated layer (3) will be insufficient, and if the addition rate is too high, the hardness will be excessive, causing warping of the ceiling material (^). Rock wool mat (
The resin impregnation in B) may be carried out after the mat has dried, but
It is preferable to carry out the process in a wet state containing moisture because this allows the resin liquid to penetrate evenly and smoothly. When the resin impregnation is completed, a drying process begins, in which the entire rock wool mat (B) is dried and at the same time, the resin-impregnated layer (3) is cured. After the drying process is completed, the rock wool mat (B) is turned over so that the non-impregnated side is facing upwards, and the non-impregnated side is sanded to smooth it, painted, and decorated as appropriate, such as with a pin hole pattern (6), to create a sound-absorbing ceiling. Complete material (A>).

Thus, the sound-absorbing ceiling material (Δ) is installed between the T-shaped bars (4) suspended from the ceiling with the thermosetting resin impregnated layer (3) facing the back surface (2). Then, the moisture in the room is gradually absorbed by the sound-absorbing ceiling material (^), but when moisture is absorbed, the ceiling material (8)
Although the strength of the binder on the front side of the bonding agent decreases to some extent, the resin-impregnated layer (3) on the back side (2) has a certain thickness, so no decrease in strength due to moisture absorption is observed, and the occurrence of sag is minimal. is suppressed. At the same time, the surface side of the sound-absorbing ceiling material (^) is not a resin-impregnated layer (3) and remains a porous fiber layer, so sounds with various frequencies and intensities generated in the room will be absorbed by the fiber layer. It will be absorbed and the sound absorption properties will not be impaired.

(Example 1) A sound-absorbing ceiling material (^) with a thickness of 5/8 inches, a width of 24 inches, and a length of 48 inches was installed between the T-shaped bars (4) and heated at 30℃9.
The sag value of the ceiling material (Δ) was measured after one week of ceiling construction in a room with a 0% RH environment. The results are shown in FIG.

If the ceiling material (^) is impregnated with a thermosetting resin, the sag value will decrease, but if the impregnated layer (3) is 10 to 10 times the thickness of the ceiling material (^)
The sag value shows almost the lowest value in the range up to 50% depth (particularly the minimum value is shown around 30% depth), and thereafter increases as the impregnated layer 3) increases. In addition, as the addition rate of the thermosetting resin increases, the sag value decreases, but if the addition rate is too high, the hardness of the impregnated layer (3) becomes too high and the ceiling material (
8) This is the cause of warping and is approximately 10% at most.

Therefore, in practice, the impregnated layer (3) has a thickness of 10 to 5% of the total thickness.

(Effects) The present invention impregnates a mineral fiber ceiling material body with a thermosetting resin from the back side toward the inside to a depth of 10 to 50% of the thickness of the ceiling material body, like a ridge. Since it is a layered material, even if it is installed between T-shaped bars indoors in a high-temperature environment and absorbs moisture, there is almost no decrease in strength because the resin-impregnated layer on the back side has a certain thickness. It has the advantage that conventional ceiling materials do not have, in that it is a significant improvement, and the surface side has a fiber layer that does not impair its sound absorption properties.
