Abstract

PURPOSE:To absorb a heat expansion/contraction thereby preventing a deformation by a method wherein, a long-size resin material article is formed by dividing it into at least three parts, then, these divided parts are unified by bonding by thinly formed connectors being formed by bending, and providing fitting members to engage with other members at the vicinities of bonding positioned at both sides thereof. CONSTITUTION:A bumper 1 is molded and formed by dividing it into three parts, i.e. a central part 2 and both side parts 3 and 3. These three parts are unified into one body by connecting them by thinly formed connectors 4, 4 with U-shape cross section being bent. Then, the unified member is fitted to the body 9 of an automobile with a bolt 8 through a fitting member 5 provided at the center part 2 and fitting members 6, 6, 7, 7 positioned close to the connectors 4, 4 of the both side parts 3, 3. By this construction, the bumper 1 absorbs the elongation of the central part 2 by the bending of the aforementioned thinly formed connectors 4, 4 with U-shaped cross section even reaching a high temperature, resulting in that the both side parts 3, 3 show only slight elongation to outsides with fitting members 6, 6, 7, 7 positioned close to the connectors 4, 4 as the elongation base points of the elongation. Thus, the bumper 1 is prevented from its deformation.

(Prior Art) Long objects made of synthetic resin, such as automobile bumpers and spearhead boilers, expand and contract as the temperature rises and falls, causing significant deformation. For example, the coefficient of linear expansion of polypropylene is ]○×10-5/'C, while the coefficient of linear expansion of steel plate is 10×10-8/'C, which is an order of magnitude smaller than this. Bumpers attached to the body of automobiles have been exposed to the scorching sun on hot summer days and have been exposed to heat for over 50 years.
If the temperature exceeds 0.degree. C., the length of the steel plate will increase by 3 mm or more. For this reason, bumpers that are attached to the body with a gap of 2 mm to 5 mm may protrude from the side of the body, making installation difficult, or come into contact with parts of the body, peeling off the paint film and causing rust. Alternatively, the gap between the combination light and the bumper may be narrowed, or when it is attached to the body, heat expands between the parts, causing problems such as the bumper deforming into an arched shape with no escape.

(Means for Achieving the Object) That is, the present invention is a resin elongate object for achieving the object of darning, in which a long object made of a synthetic resin material is divided into at least three parts in the longitudinal direction, Each part is connected integrally by a thin connecting part formed by bending between them, and a part is provided near the connecting part of the part located on both sides of the part to attach it to other parts. This thin connection part absorbs the expansion or contraction caused by the temperature of the long object attached to it.

Reference numeral in the figure] is a long bumper molded from a synthetic resin material. This bumper 1 is divided into a central portion 2 having the required cross-sectional shape as a bumper and side portions 3.3, and the central portion 2 and A thin connecting portion 4.4 bent toward the back surface of the bumper 1 in a U-shaped cross section is formed between the central portion 2 and both side portions 3.3.
3 are integrally connected by these two connecting portions 4.4, thereby forming one bumper 1.

The bumper 1 configured in this way has a central portion 2.
The upper and lower mountings provided near the connecting portion 4.4 of the both side portions 3.3 are connected to the vehicle through the mounting portion 5 (Fig. 2) located above the center of the vehicle. Porto 8 can be attached to body 9 with more.

Therefore, even when the bumper 1 configured in this manner is exposed to the scorching sun and becomes hot, the thin connecting portion 4.4, which is bent in a U-shaped cross section, will bend significantly as shown by the two-dot chain line in the figure. This absorbs the elongation of the central portion 2 whose center is fixed to the body 9, and at the same time the both side portions 3.3 are connected to the connecting portions 4.4.
Since the bumper 1 as a whole exhibits only a slight outward extension from the nearby mounting portion 6.6.7.7, the bumper 1 as a whole does not undergo any deformation that would affect other parts.

FIG. 3 shows another embodiment of the present invention applied to a beam recessed boiler, in which central portions 1 are connected via thin-walled connecting portions 14 and 14 having a U-shaped cross section.
2 and both side portions 13.13 (Fig. 2), and a foam 18 which is integrally bonded to the substrate 11 and has a cross-sectional shape as a recessed boiler. As shown in FIG. 2, it is fixed to the rear upper part of the body 9 by ports 15, 16, and 16 provided at the center of the board 2 and near the connection parts 14 and 14 on both sides, respectively. Even in the case of this embodiment, the deformation of the rear spoiler 1o is suppressed by absorbing the expansion or contraction that occurs in the substrate 1 due to the deflection of the two U-shaped thin-walled connecting portions 14 and 14.

The present invention has been explained above using examples of the bumper 1 and rear spoiler 10 of an automobile, but the present invention is not limited to these examples, and may be applied to other composites that can be attached to members with a small coefficient of thermal expansion. It can also be applied to long objects made of resin.

In addition, if the long resin object has a sufficient length, it may be divided into three or more parts, and these parts may be joined together by a thin connecting part formed by bending between each part. Therefore, each thin-walled connecting portion may be configured to absorb the expansion and contraction thereof.

(Effects) As described above, according to the present invention, a long resin material having a relatively large coefficient of thermal expansion is divided into at least three parts, and these parts are joined together by a thin connecting part formed by bending. Therefore, even when this long object is fixed to a member with a small coefficient of thermal expansion, it is possible to absorb the thermal expansion and contraction that occurs in each part due to the deflection of the thin connection part, and to reliably suppress the deformation. can.

Moreover, since this bent thin-walled connecting part is coated in at least two places in the longitudinal direction of a long object, it is possible to accentuate the long object with this part, and when applied to a car bumper, etc., the appearance can be improved. It can be further improved.
