Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an ink ductor capable of preventing a pattern on the surface thereof from being reproduced on a printed matter, by mounting on a core metal a tubular body having a surface comprising a rugged pattern with recessed parts communicating with each other. CONSTITUTION:A rubber powder 16 is fixed to the surface of a core metal 11 by an adhesive to form a matrix roll 17. A tubular body 18 formed of a rubber is provided on the outer periphery of the roll 17, and is polished. The tubular body 18 is drawn off the roll 17 while reversing the body 18 inside out. The tubular body 18 thus reversed has a surface comprising an irregularly rugged pattern, with recessed parts 13 communicating with each other to permit sufficient flow of an ink therein. The tubular body 18 is fitted over a separately prepared iron core 19, with a rubber layer 20 therebetween. Thus, an ink ductor suitable for use on an offset press can be obtained which is enhanced in retention of an ink on the surface thereof, permits an allowance in the range of metering of the ink, and is capable of preventing the pattern on the surface thereof from being reproduced on a printed matter.

[Prior Art and Problems] 'Conventionally, in keyless ink delivery rolls, the roll surface has been roughened by various means in order to increase the amount of ink supplied.

(1) When the surface is roughened by polishing: As shown in FIG. 6, when the surface of the roll 1 is roughened by polishing, streaks appear in the direction of rotation, and the pattern appears on the printed matter. In addition, it is difficult to produce the same pattern on the surface, and the printed matter is not stable. Furthermore, there is a limit to increasing the surface area of the roll 1, and there is a problem in metering the ink.

(2) When the surface is roughened by machining, laser processing, etc.; For example, a recess 2 with a U-shaped cross section on the surface of the roll 1
When formed regularly (as shown in Figure 7), the cross-sectional shape is 7.
When the letter-shaped recesses 3 are formed regularly (as shown in FIG. 8),
Another example is a case where recesses 4 having a curved cross-sectional shape are formed regularly (as shown in FIG. 9). However, in the case of machining or laser processing, the ink 5 is kept in a sealed state (in the closed state) due to the nip width W of the roll (see Figure 10), regardless of the size and depth of the recesses, and the density of the number of recesses relative to the roll surface area. (see Figure 11),
The pattern on the roll surface is reproduced on the printed matter. In addition, in FIG. 10, c16 is a convex portion, and 7 is a concave portion.

(2) When the recesses 6 are formed regularly as shown in FIG. 12, the pattern on the surface of the roll is reproduced on the printed matter, although there are considerable differences depending on the angle of the recesses with respect to the circumferential direction of the roll. Note that if the recesses are made smaller in the vertical and horizontal directions, the effect on pattern reproduction on printed matter will be reduced;
The amount of ink is not perfect, and the density of the printed matter is poor.

In the cylindrical body according to the present invention having an irregularly uneven surface and communicating recesses, the size and depth of the recesses on the surface, the size and height of the projections, the pitch of the recesses (or projections), etc. are different, and the ink is designed to flow sufficiently through the recesses. Further, the shape of the cylindrical body includes a cylindrical body (the former), or a sheet-like body that is spirally wound into a cylindrical shape (the latter). In the latter case, it is important to wrap the sheet so that the joints are as small as possible in order to avoid pattern transfer to the printed material.

Further, according to the method of the present invention, a mother roll having an irregular surface is formed, and this mother mold roll is used to form a cylindrical shape having an irregular surface and continuous recesses. By forming a body and attaching it to a core metal, it is possible to obtain an ink delivery roll having an irregularly uneven surface and a pattern of continuous concave portions on the surface. Therefore, by using this roll, there is a wide range of ink metering, and high quality printing can be performed without the pattern on the roll surface being reproduced on the printed matter.

The depth and shape of the concave portion (groove) 13 and the convex portion 1 are
4, the pitch of the concave portions 13 (or convex portions 14), etc. are irregularly uneven, and the concave portions 13 forming a part of the concave and convex surfaces can retain ink in the concave portions 13 for a certain period of time. The structure is such that they are interconnected. Therefore, due to the irregularly uneven surface shape, the surface area of the cylinder (cylindrical body 1
8) becomes larger, the ink content on the roll surface can be increased, and the amount of ink can be measured more widely. Furthermore, since the recesses 13 are in communication, it is possible to prevent the surface pattern from being reproduced on the printed matter. Furthermore, there is no need to use expensive equipment such as conventional machining or laser processing, and manufacturing costs can be reduced.

(2) Next, after inverting the cylinder 18,
was pulled out from the mother roll 17 (as shown in FIG. 4(d)). Here, the complicated uneven pattern on the surface of the master roll was transferred to the surface of the inverted cylinder 18. That is, the surface of the inverted cylindrical body 18 has an irregularly uneven surface shape as shown in FIG.
The height of the recesses 13 (or the convex parts 14), etc. are different from each other, and the recesses 13 are in communication with each other so that the ink can flow sufficiently, as shown in FIG. Next, wrap rubber to the specified dimensions around the iron core 19 for the actual machine, which was prepared separately, to form a rubber layer 2.
0, this rubber layer 20 was polished. Next, a rubber layer 20 and an adhesive (not shown) are applied to the outer periphery of the iron core 19.
After fitting the cylindrical body 18 through the cylindrical body 18, a tape is wrapped over it to make it stick tightly, and the rubber layer 2 on the outer periphery of the iron core 19 is heated.
0 and the cylindrical body 18 were brought into close contact. After that, the outer circumferential tape was removed to produce an ink delivery roll (Fig. 1(e)).

Therefore, according to the method of the present invention, the rubber powder 16 is added to the core metal 1.
By uniformly coating the outer periphery of 1, a mother roll 16 having a complex pattern on the surface is formed, and this mother roll 16
A cylindrical body 19 having an uneven surface with an irregular surface is formed by applying a mold release agent and applying a fluid to the cylindrical body 19.The cylindrical body 19 is then pulled out from the master roll 17 while being reversed, and the cylindrical body 18 is further separated in this state. By attaching the prepared iron core 19 via the rubber layer 20 and adhesive layer, an ink delivery roll having an irregular pattern on its surface can be obtained. Therefore, if this roll is used, it is possible to increase the ink content on the roll surface, increase the amount of ink to be measured, and perform high-quality printing without reproducing the pattern on the roll surface in the printed matter. In fact, when the roll according to the present invention was used as a keyless ink delivery roll of an offset printing machine, high-quality printing could be performed without the pattern on the roll surface being reproduced on the printed matter. Further, unlike conventional machining and laser processing, there is no need to use expensive equipment, and manufacturing costs can be reduced.

Subsequently, this rubber sheet was spirally wrapped around the core with an adhesive so that the uneven patterned surface of the sheet was on the outside. However, when rolling the sheet, roll it so that the seams are as small as possible. Next, a tape was wrapped over it and heated to bring the sheet into close contact with the rubber layer around the outer periphery of the iron core. Thereafter, the tape on the outer periphery was removed to produce an ink delivery roll having the same structure as in Example 1. According to Example 2, the same effects as in Example 1 were obtained.
