Description
The present invention relates to a vehicle driving control device that has a function for avoiding a collision with an obstacle by emergency brake control.
In recent years, driving control devices have been put into practical use to assist the driver in driving operations in automobiles and other vehicles, with the aim of reducing the burden of driving operations on the driver and improving safety. In this type of driving control device, various technologies have been developed for a driving control mode that performs steering assistance control and acceleration/deceleration control on the premise that the driver performs the main driving operation, and a driving control mode for driving the vehicle without the need for driving operations by the driver (so-called automatic driving mode) (for example, see Patent Document 1).
The driving control by the driving control device is basically realized by providing an adaptive cruise control (ACC) function and an active lane keep centering (ALKC) control function. This type of driving control allows the vehicle to automatically drive along the driving lane while maintaining a distance from the vehicle ahead.
Furthermore, a technology has been put into practical use in which, when a driving control device recognizes an obstacle such as a vehicle or pedestrian ahead of the vehicle using a driving environment recognition device that uses autonomous sensors such as a camera or laser radar, it performs emergency braking (AEB (Autonomous Emergency Braking): collision damage mitigation brake) control for the obstacle and brings the vehicle to an emergency stop in front of the obstacle. In such AEB control, generally, a point on the obstacle that is closest in straight-line distance to the vehicle is set as a representative point, and braking control is performed to stop the vehicle in front of the representative point.
Furthermore, in recent years, technology has been developed that extends emergency brake control to obstacles such as intersecting vehicles (intersecting moving objects) approaching the vehicle from a direction that intersects with the vehicle's path, in addition to obstacles in front of the vehicle.
However, in emergency brake control in which an intersecting moving object recognized by a radar device such as a millimeter wave radar is used as an obstacle, the timing to start braking may be delayed. That is, for example, in order to perform emergency brake control on an intersecting moving object at an appropriate timing, it is necessary to recognize the position of the side of the intersecting moving object on the vehicle's side. However, depending on the positional relationship between the vehicle and the intersecting moving object, it may be possible to recognize only a portion of the front of the intersecting moving object. In such a case, the front-rear position of the intersecting moving object relative to the vehicle's own vehicle (the z coordinate of the intersecting moving object when the z-axis is set in the front-rear direction relative to the vehicle's own vehicle) is recognized as being farther away than the actual front-rear position. And when the front-rear position of the intersecting moving object is recognized as being far away, the target stop position of the vehicle relative to the intersecting moving object is set as being far away, which may delay the timing to start emergency brake control.
If the timing of initiating emergency braking control were to be accelerated across all intersecting moving objects detected by the radar device in order to address this issue, there is a risk that excessive emergency braking control would be performed.
The present invention was made in consideration of the above circumstances, and aims to provide a vehicle driving control device that can perform appropriate emergency brake control even when an intersecting moving object is detected by a radar device.
A vehicle driving control device according to one aspect of the present invention includes a radar device that recognizes an intersecting moving object approaching from a direction intersecting the vehicle's travel path, a collision prediction time calculation means that calculates a collision prediction time, which is a time that the vehicle will reach a target stop position set based on the intersection position between the predicted travel path of the intersecting moving object recognized by the radar device and the vehicle's travel path when traveling at the current vehicle speed, a collision possibility determination means that determines the possibility of the vehicle colliding with the intersecting moving object at the intersecting position, an emergency brake execution means that executes emergency braking to stop the vehicle at the target stop position when the collision possibility determination means determines that the vehicle may collide with the intersecting moving object and the collision prediction time becomes equal to or less than a threshold value, and a correction means that performs a correction to advance the timing of executing the emergency brake as the distance from the intersecting position to the vehicle becomes shorter relative to the distance from the intersecting position to the intersecting moving object.
The vehicle driving control device of the present invention can perform appropriate emergency brake control even when an intersecting moving object is detected by the radar device.

The
The first driving
The first driving
The first driving
Furthermore, multiple radar devices (e.g., a left front-side radar device 11fl, a right front-side radar device 11fr, a left rear-side radar device 11rl, and a right rear-side radar device 11rr) are connected to the first driving
The left front-side radar device 11fl and the right front-side radar device 11fr are provided, for example, on the left and right sides of the front bumper, respectively. These left front-side radar device 11fl and right front-side radar device 11fr monitor the areas Afl, Afr (see FIG. 3) diagonally forward and to the left and right of the vehicle M, which cannot be monitored using images from the above-mentioned
The left rear-side radar device 11rl and the right rear-side radar device 11rr are provided, for example, on the left and right sides of the rear bumper, respectively. These left rear-side radar device 11rl and right rear-side radar device 11rr monitor the areas Arl, Arr (see FIG. 3) extending from the left and right sides to the rear of the vehicle M, which cannot be monitored by the above-mentioned left front-side radar device 11fl and right front-side radar device 11fr. The left rear-side radar device 11rl and the right rear-side radar device 11rr are arranged so that parts of the areas Arl, Arr overlap each other and overlap with the areas Afl, Afr, respectively.
Each radar device 11fl, 11fr, 11rl, 11rr is configured with a millimeter wave radar, a laser radar, a LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging), etc. Each radar device 11fl, 11fr, 11rl, 11rr detects multiple reflection points on a three-dimensional object around the vehicle M by receiving reflected waves of radar waves (radio waves, laser beams, etc.) emitted in the horizontal direction. Then, each radar device 11fl, 11fr, 11rl, 11rr recognizes the three-dimensional object by analyzing the relative positions and moving speeds of the detected multiple reflection points and performing grouping processing. Furthermore, each radar device 11fl, 11fr, 11rl, 11rr sets the reflection point that is closest in straight-line distance to the vehicle M among the reflection points on the recognized three-dimensional object as the representative point Pr of the three-dimensional object (see Figures 5 to 7). In addition, the three-dimensional object recognized in this way by each radar device 11fl, 11fr, 11rl, and 11rr is called a radar object (radar OBJ).
In this way, information on the representative point Pr and the like related to the radar OBJ recognized by each of the radar devices 11fl, 11fr, 11rl, 11rr is input to the first driving
Here, the first driving
As described below, in this embodiment in which emergency braking control is performed to avoid a collision with an intersecting moving object based on information from a radar device, the locator unit 12 (and the control device 100) are not essential components and can be omitted as appropriate.

In addition, in an environment where it is not possible to receive a valid positioning signal from a positioning satellite due to reduced sensitivity of the

The second driving environment recognition unit 13c recognizes, from the updated road map information, road map information of a set range centered on the vehicle position estimated by the vehicle
The first driving environment information recognized by the first driving
The driving modes set in the
Here, the manual driving mode is a driving mode that requires the driver to maintain steering, for example, a driving mode in which the vehicle M is driven according to driving operations such as steering, accelerator, and brake operations by the driver.
Similarly, the first driving control mode is also a driving mode that requires the driver to maintain steering. In other words, the first driving control mode is a semi-automated driving mode in which the host vehicle M is driven along a target driving route by appropriately combining adaptive cruise control (ACC), active lane keep centering (ALKC), and active lane keep bouncing (ACTIVE Lane Keep Bouncing) control, for example, through control of the E/
The second driving control mode is an autonomous driving mode in which the vehicle M is driven along a target route (route map information) by performing an appropriate combination of preceding vehicle following control, lane centering control, and lane departure prevention control through control of, for example, the E/
The evacuation mode is a mode for automatically stopping the vehicle M on a roadside or the like when, for example, while driving in the second driving control mode, driving in that mode cannot be continued and the driver cannot take over driving operations (i.e., when transition to the manual driving mode or the first driving control mode cannot be made).
さらに、走行_ECU22は、上述の各運転モードにおいて、自車両Mと衝突する可能性の高い車両等の障害物に対し、適宜、緊急ブレーキ(AEB(Autonomous Emergency Braking):衝突被害軽減ブレーキ、FCTB(Front Cross Traffic Brake):出合頭衝突回避ブレーキ等)制御を行う。
Furthermore, in each of the above-mentioned driving modes, the
For example, when a preceding vehicle or an oncoming vehicle is recognized as an obstacle on the path of the vehicle, the
Also, for example, when a moving body such as an intersecting vehicle (intersecting moving body C) is recognized as an obstacle, the
Here, the determination of whether the vehicle M will collide with the intersecting moving object C can be made, for example, by calculating the predicted position of the intersecting moving object C after the collision prediction time TTC has elapsed based on the speed Vc of the intersecting moving object C, and checking whether the predicted position of the intersecting moving object C is within a collision prediction area set based on the intersecting position Pc. Alternatively, the determination of whether the vehicle M will collide with the intersecting moving object C can be made, for example, by checking whether the ratio (Lm/Lc) of the distance Lm to the distance Lc matches the ratio (Vm/Vc) of the vehicle speed Vm to the speed Vc of the intersecting moving object C within a predetermined error range, where Lm is the distance from the intersecting position Pc to the vehicle M, and Lc is the distance from the intersecting position Pc to the intersecting moving object C.
In order to apply emergency braking to the intersecting moving object C at the appropriate timing, it is necessary to set the representative point Pr at an appropriate position that approximately coincides with the side of the intersecting moving object C on the vehicle M side, and calculate the intersecting position Pc to an appropriate position.
For example, as shown in Figures 5 and 6, when a radar device is used, the ease of detecting the side of the crossing moving object C on the vehicle M side generally depends on the relative relationship between the distance Lm from the crossing position Pc to the vehicle M and the distance Lc from the crossing position Pc to the crossing moving object C, and the larger the ratio of the distance Lm to the distance Lc (Lm/Lc), the easier it is to detect the side of the crossing moving object C. In other words, assuming that the vehicle M collides with the crossing moving object C, the smaller the relative speed (vertical relative speed) between the vehicle M and the crossing moving object C in the front-rear direction (z-axis direction in the z-x coordinate system (see Figure 3) based on the vehicle M) and the larger the relative speed (horizontal relative speed) between the vehicle M and the crossing moving object C in the left-right direction (x-axis direction in the z-x coordinate system (see Figure 3) based on the vehicle M) becomes, the more difficult it becomes to detect the side of the crossing moving object C.
That is, for example, as shown in FIG. 5, when the ratio (Lm/Lc) between the distance Lm and the distance Lc is equal to or greater than a predetermined value, the incident angle of the radar wave incident from the radar device to the crossing moving body C becomes smaller on the front side of the crossing moving body C and becomes larger on the side side of the crossing moving body C. Therefore, the radar device tends to have difficulty in detecting the reflection point on the front side of the crossing moving body C and to easily detect the reflection point on the side side of the crossing moving body C. In other words, when there is a high possibility that the vehicle M will collide with the crossing moving body C at the crossing position Pc, the larger the ratio (Vm/Vc) between the vehicle speed Vm and the speed Vc of the crossing moving body C (i.e., the faster the vehicle speed Vm is and the slower the speed Vc of the crossing moving body C is), the easier it is to detect the reflection point on the side of the crossing moving body C. Note that near the boundary between the front side and the side of the crossing moving body C, the reflected wave is likely to be disturbed due to the curved surfaces of the vehicle body constituting the crossing moving body C, and the reflection point by the radar device tends to be difficult to detect.
In such a case, the position of the representative point Pr of the intersecting moving object C input to the second driving environment recognition unit 13c as radar OBJ will be an appropriate position that approximately coincides with the side of the actual intersecting moving object C on the vehicle M side. When such an appropriate representative point Pr is input to the second driving environment recognition unit 13c, the target stop position Pt for the intersecting moving object C is set to an appropriate position, and the timing of executing the emergency brake for the target stop position Pt can be appropriate.
On the other hand, for example, as shown in FIG. 6, when the ratio (Lm/Lc) between the distance Lm and the distance Lc is less than a predetermined value (when the distance Lm is sufficiently smaller than the distance Lc), the angle of incidence of the radar wave incident from the radar device to the crossing moving body C becomes smaller on the side of the crossing moving body C and becomes larger on the front of the crossing moving body C. Therefore, the radar device tends to have difficulty in detecting the reflection point on the side of the crossing moving body C and to easily detect the reflection point on the front of the crossing moving body C. In other words, when there is a high possibility that the host vehicle M will collide with the crossing moving body C at the crossing position Pc, the smaller the ratio (Vm/Vc) between the host vehicle speed Vm and the speed of the crossing moving body C (i.e., the slower the host vehicle speed Vm is and the faster the speed Vc of the crossing moving body C is), the more difficult it tends to be to detect the reflection point on the side of the crossing moving body C. In addition, near the boundary between the front and side of the intersecting moving body C, the reflected wave is likely to be disturbed due to the curved surfaces of the vehicle body and other components of the intersecting moving body C, making it difficult for the radar device to detect the reflection point.
In such a case, the position of the representative point Pr of the intersecting moving body C input to the second driving environment recognition unit 13c as the radar OBJ is offset further away from the actual side of the intersecting moving body C on the vehicle M side. When the offset representative point Pr is input to the first driving
To prevent excessive deceleration due to a delay in the timing of emergency braking, the
To advance the timing of the emergency brake execution, the
The calculation of the correction amount α can be performed, for example, using a threshold correction map (see FIG. 8) that is set in advance based on experiments, simulations, etc. That is, the
In addition, the
That is, the

Next, emergency brake control for an intersecting vehicle will be described with reference to the flowchart of the emergency brake control routine shown in FIG. 4. This routine is executed repeatedly at set time intervals. In this embodiment, emergency brake control for an intersecting moving object is basically performed only for the radar OBJ.

On the other hand, if it is determined in step S101 that an intersecting moving object C exists, the

In each of the above-mentioned determinations, the range of the collision prediction area and the error range are set based on the generally assumed longitudinal length of the intersecting moving object C (for example, the general vehicle length when the intersecting moving object C is assumed to be a vehicle).
When the process proceeds from step S105 to step S106, the

On the other hand, if it is determined in step S107 that the collision prediction time TTC is equal to or less than the threshold value Tth, the
According to this embodiment, the collision prediction time TTC is calculated as the time to reach the target stop position Pt set based on the predicted path of the intersecting moving object C recognized by the radar device and the vehicle's travel path when the vehicle M is traveling at the current vehicle speed Vm, and the possibility of the vehicle M colliding with the intersecting moving object C at the intersecting position Pc is determined based on the vehicle speed Vm and the speed Vc of the intersecting moving object C. When it is determined that the vehicle M may collide with the intersecting moving object C and the collision prediction time TTC is equal to or less than the threshold value Tth, the vehicle M is stopped at the target stop position Pt by executing an emergency brake control to perform an emergency brake control. The smaller the vertical relative speed between the vehicle M and the intersecting moving object C and the larger the lateral relative speed between the vehicle M and the intersecting moving object C, the larger the correction amount α is added to the offset amount Δz to advance the timing of executing the emergency brake control, so that appropriate emergency brake control can be performed even when the intersecting moving object C is recognized by the radar device.
In other words, assuming that the host vehicle M will collide with the intersecting moving body C, the smaller the longitudinal relative speed between the host vehicle M and the intersecting moving body C and the greater the lateral relative speed between the host vehicle M and the intersecting moving body C, the more difficult it becomes to detect the side of the intersecting moving body C on the host vehicle M side. In view of this, by correcting the offset amount Δz toward the host vehicle M side using the correction value α, emergency braking can be performed at an appropriate timing even if the intersecting position Pc calculated based on the representative point Pr of the intersecting moving body C is set farther away from the host vehicle M than the actual intersecting position.
In the above embodiment, only the brake control that stops the vehicle M against the intersecting moving object C has been described, but similar processing can also be performed for the preliminary brake control and warning control that are performed in the preceding stages.

The invention described in the above embodiments is not limited to those embodiments, and various modifications can be made in the implementation stage without departing from the gist of the invention. For example, the above embodiments have been described using an example of emergency brake control when the vehicle M is moving forward, but the invention can also be applied to emergency brake control when the vehicle M is moving backward.
