Description

The present invention relates to a circuit breaker that is installed, for example, in a distribution board.

Conventionally, for example, in circuit breakers used in single-phase three-wire circuits, the power supply side terminals are sometimes configured as so-called plug-in type terminals. In addition, as such circuit breakers, there have been devised ones in which the position of the terminal fittings on the power supply side terminals can be changed from outside the main body case (for example, Patent Document 1).

However, the circuit breaker described in Patent Document 1 has a problem in that the operation for adjusting the position of the terminal fittings is cumbersome. In addition, since it is difficult to determine the current position of the terminal fittings, there is also a problem in that various operations become even more cumbersome when installing the circuit breaker in a distribution board, etc.

The present invention has been made in consideration of the above problems, and aims to provide a circuit breaker that allows the position of the terminal fittings to be easily adjusted and the current position of the terminal fittings to be easily grasped.

In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides a circuit breaker having a main body case and three terminal ports, into which conductive bars can be inserted and connected, arranged in parallel in the vertical direction, and a first holding member having an operating portion located outside the main body case and a holding portion connected to the operating portion and located inside the main body case to hold a first terminal metal fitting, the first terminal metal fitting being attached to the lower side of the first holding member so as to be slidable in the vertical direction between a first position where the first terminal metal fitting is located corresponding to the upper terminal port and a second position where the first terminal metal fitting is located corresponding to the central terminal port, the second retaining member having an operating portion positioned at a central terminal port and a retaining portion connected to the operating portion and positioned within the main body case for holding a second terminal fitting, the second retaining member being slidable in the vertical direction between the second position where the second terminal fitting is at a position corresponding to the central terminal port and a third position where the second terminal fitting is at a position corresponding to the lower terminal port, the operating portion of the first retaining member covering at least a portion of the upper terminal port while sliding between the first position and the second position, and the operating portion of the second retaining member covering at least a portion of the central terminal port while sliding between the second position and the third position.
The invention of claim 2 is the invention of claim 1, wherein three confirmation indicators indicating the positions of both terminal fittings are provided within the sliding range of both holding members on the surface of the main body case, and when the first holding member is in the second position and the second holding member is in the third position, a first confirmation indicator indicating that the first terminal fitting is in a position corresponding to the central terminal port and that the second terminal fitting is in a position corresponding to the lower terminal port is exposed, while a second confirmation indicator indicating that the first terminal fitting is in a position corresponding to the upper terminal port and that the second terminal fitting is in a position corresponding to the lower terminal port is exposed by the operation portion of the first holding member. A third confirmation indicator portion, which indicates that the second terminal fitting is in a position corresponding to the central terminal port, is covered by the operation portion of the second holding member, and when the first holding member is in the first position and the second holding member is in the third position, the second confirmation indicator portion is exposed, while the first confirmation indicator portion is covered by the operation portion of the first holding member and the third confirmation indicator portion is covered by the operation portion of the second holding member, and further, when the first holding member is in the first position and the second holding member is in the second position, the third confirmation indicator portion is exposed, while the first confirmation indicator portion is covered by the operation portion of the first holding member and the second confirmation indicator portion is covered by the operation portion of the second holding member.

According to the present invention, a holding member having an operating portion located outside the main case and a holding portion connected to the operating portion and located inside the main case for holding the terminal fittings is attached to the main case so as to be slidable in the vertical direction, and the position of the terminal fittings can be adjusted simply by sliding the two holding members by operating from outside the main case. Therefore, the position of the terminal fittings can be adjusted more easily than in the past.
The operating portion of the first holding member covers at least a part of the upper terminal port while sliding between the first position and the second position, and the operating portion of the second holding member covers at least a part of the central terminal port while sliding between the second position and the third position. In other words, if the holding members are not in the appropriate positions, the conductive bar cannot be inserted into the upper terminal port or the lower terminal port. This makes it possible to prevent a situation in which the terminal metal fittings or the conductive bar are deformed or damaged by forcibly connecting the conductive bar to the terminal metal fittings when the terminal metal fittings are not in the appropriate positions.
According to the invention described in claim 2, three indicators indicating the positions of the terminal fittings are provided within the sliding range of the two holding members on the surface of the main body case, and the indicators exposed according to the positions of the first and second holding members and the indicators covered by the operating parts of each holding member are different, and the exposed indicators indicate the current positions of the terminal fittings. Therefore, the current positions of the terminal fittings can be easily grasped, and various operations such as installation in a distribution board can be performed more easily.

The circuit breaker 1 used in a single-phase three-wire circuit has a synthetic resin main case 2 assembled from multiple case members, with a power supply terminal 4 at the rear of the main case 2 and a load terminal (not shown) at the front. A handle 5 is provided on the top surface of the main case 2 so that it can be rotated back and forth. Rotating the handle 5 activates an opening/closing mechanism (not shown) built into the main case 2, connecting/disconnecting the electrical circuit electrically connecting the power supply terminal 4 and the load terminal 3.

The power supply side terminal 4 further comprises three plug-in type terminals P1, P2, P3 arranged in a vertical direction, and each of the terminals P1 to P3 is formed by cutting out a U-shape that penetrates the main body case 2 in the horizontal direction. A conductive bar (not shown) arranged in a distribution board or the like can be inserted and connected to each of the terminals P1 to P3. In the power supply side terminal 4, the upper terminal P1 is a neutral terminal, and the central terminal P2 and the lower terminal P3 are voltage terminals, respectively. When the input voltage is 100V, the conductive bar is connected to the upper terminal P1 and the central terminal P2 or the lower terminal P3, while when the input voltage is 200V, the conductive bar is connected to the central terminal P2 and the lower terminal P3.

Here, a sliding structure of the terminal fittings 10A, 10B on the power supply terminal 4 side, which is a main part of the present invention, will be described.
Two holding members 11A, 11B that slide up and down relative to the main case 2 are attached to the rear end of the main case 2 (the end on the power supply terminal 4 side). Terminal fitting 10A is held by holding member 11A, and terminal fitting 10B is held by holding member 11B, with both terminal fittings 10A, 10B located inside the main case 2. Terminal fittings 10A, 10B are conventionally known (the same as those used in conventional plug-in type terminals) and are formed by bending a metal plate into a roughly C-shape when viewed from the side, with the opening facing rearward.

The holding members 11A and 11B are each provided with an operating member 12 that can be operated by an operator, and a holding base 13 that is connected to the operating member 12 and holds the terminal fittings 10A and 10B. The operating member 12 is formed in a gate shape when viewed from above, with opposing left and right side surfaces and a rear surface that connects the rear ends of the two side surfaces, and a support protrusion 14 for supporting the holding base 13 is provided on the front part of the inside (opposing surface side) of each side surface. Meanwhile, the holding base 13 is provided with a holding portion 15 that can hold the terminal fittings 10A and 10B with the opening facing rearward, and an engaging portion 16 that protrudes upward from the holding portion 15. The engaging portion 16 is formed in a plate shape with the thickness direction being the front-rear direction and the left-right length being the same as the distance between the left and right side surfaces of the operating member 12, and notches 17, 17 with a vertical width approximately the same as the supporting protrusion 14 are provided at the upper left and right edges of the engaging portion 16. In addition, a retaining protrusion 18 protrudes rearward from the upper left corner of the rear surface of the engaging portion 16 to retain the retaining members 11A and 11B in a first position, which will be described later.

On the other hand, the rear end portions of the left and right side surfaces of the main body case 2 are recessed inward in the left-right direction compared to the front side, and the left-right width of the main body case 2 at the recessed portion is approximately the same as the distance between the left and right side surfaces of the operating member 12 (which is also the left-right length of the engagement portion 16). The terminal ports P1 to P3 are provided in the recessed portion, and the operating members 12, 12 are attached (i.e., it is used as the mounting portion of the operating members 12, 12). In addition, slits 19 extending in the vertical direction are opened on both left and right side surfaces in the mounting portion of the main body case 2. The front-to-rear width of each slit 19 is approximately the same as the front-to-rear width of the engagement portion 16. In addition, the left slit 19 is provided with three locking recesses 20, 20... in which the holding protrusion 18 can be locked. Furthermore, each slit 19 is provided at a position forward from the rear surface of the mounting portion of the main body case 2 by the same front-to-rear length from the rear surface of the operating member 12 to the support protrusions 14, 14.

In addition, on the inner surface of the main body case 2, adjacent to the front side of each slit 19, 19, guide walls 22 that protrude inward in the left-right direction are provided extending in the up-down direction. The front surface of the engagement portion 16 attached to the main body case 2 abuts against the guide walls 22, 22, making it possible to guide the sliding of the holding members 11A, 11B in the up-down direction.

In addition, a first confirmation display 21A is provided on the rear surface of the mounting portion of the main case 2, above terminal port P1. A second confirmation display 21B is provided on the rear surface of the mounting portion of the main case 2, above terminal port P2 and below terminal port P1. A third confirmation display 21C is provided on the rear surface of the mounting portion of the main case 2, above terminal port P3 and below terminal port P2, and each of the confirmation display 21A, 21B, and 21C indicates the position of the terminal fittings 10A and 10B when they are exposed.

When assembling the holding members 11A and 11B and attaching them to the main case 2 as described above, the terminal metal fitting 10A is held by the holding base 13 of the holding member 11A, and the terminal metal fitting 10B is held by the holding base 13 of the holding member 11B, and then, for the holding base 13 that holds the terminal metal fitting 10B, the left and right side edges of the engagement portion 16 are fitted into the slits 19, 19 from the inside of the main case 2 with the terminal metal fitting 10B facing rearward. Then, the operating member 12 is assembled from the rear side of the main case 2 so that the left and right side surfaces of the operating member 12 are positioned outside the left and right side surfaces within the mounting portion of the main case 2, respectively, and the support protrusions 14, 14 are engaged with the notches 17, 17 located within the slits 19, 19, connecting the operating member 12 and the holding base 13, completing the assembly and attachment of the holding member 11B. Next, for the holder 13 that holds the terminal metal fitting 10A, the left and right side edges of the engagement portion 16 are fitted into the slits 19, 19 from inside the main case 2, in the same manner as for the holder 13 that holds the terminal metal fitting 10B. At this time, the holder 13 that holds the terminal metal fitting 10A is positioned above the holding member 11B. Then, as in the above, the operating member 12 is assembled, and the support protrusions 14, 14 are engaged with the notches 17, 17, connecting the operating member 12 and the holder 13, and the assembly and installation of the holding member 11A is also completed. In the holding members 11A, 11B assembled and installed as described above, the terminal metal fittings 10A, 10B are in a position that protrudes downward from each operating member 12 (especially the rear surface of the operating member 12).

The holding members 11A, 11B attached to the main case 2 in the above manner slide vertically within the attachment portion with the engagement portion 16 guided by the slits 19, 19 and the guide walls 22, 22. Furthermore, by engaging the holding protrusions 18 with the locking recesses 20, the holding member 11A can be positioned at a first position where the operating member 12 covers the confirmation display portion 21A from the rear and the terminal metal fitting 10A is disposed in front of the upper terminal port P1, and at a second position where the operating member 12 covers the confirmation display portion 21B from the rear and the terminal metal fitting 10A is disposed in front of the central terminal port P2. Meanwhile, the retaining member 11B can be positioned at a second position (same position as the second position) where the operating member 12 covers the confirmation display portion 21B from the rear and the terminal metal 10B is arranged in front of the central terminal port P2, by the retaining protrusion 18 engaging with the locking recess 20, and at a third position where the operating member 12 covers the confirmation display portion 21C from the rear and the terminal metal 10B is arranged in front of the lower terminal port P3.

Here, the position adjustment of the terminal fittings 10A and 10B will be specifically explained. When the input voltage is 200V, the terminal fittings 10A and 10B must be arranged in the central terminal port P2 and the lower terminal port P3. Then, the holding members 11A and 11B are slid to position the holding member 11A in the second position and the holding member 11B in the third position. Then, the terminal fitting 10A is arranged in front of the terminal port P2, and the terminal fitting 10B is arranged in front of the terminal port P3, respectively, and the conductive bar can be electrically connected to the circuit breaker 1 by inserting the conductive bar into the terminal port P2 and the terminal port P3. In this state, only the confirmation display portion 21A is exposed (FIG. 6(c)), and the current state of the power supply side terminal 4 of the circuit breaker 1 (which terminal port the terminal fitting is arranged in, in this case the input voltage is 200V, and the conductive bar is to be connected to the two voltage terminals) is notified to the operator.

If the input voltage is 100V and you want to insert a conductive bar into the upper terminal port P1 and the lower terminal port P3, slide the holding members 11A and 11B to place the holding members 11A in the first position and the holding members 11B in the third position. Then, the terminal fittings 10A and 10B are placed in front of the terminal port P1 and the terminal fittings 10B in front of the terminal port P3, respectively, and the conductive bar can be electrically connected to the circuit breaker 1 by inserting the conductive bar into the terminal port P1 and the terminal port P3. In this state, only the confirmation display section 21B is exposed (FIG. 6(a)), and the operator is notified of the current state of the power supply side terminal 4 of the circuit breaker 1 (here, the input voltage is 100V and the conductive bar is to be connected to the neutral terminal and the lower voltage terminal).

If the input voltage is 100V and you want to insert a conductive bar into the upper terminal port P1 and the central terminal port P2, slide the holding members 11A and 11B to place the holding members 11A in the first position and the holding members 11B in the second position. Then, the terminal fittings 10A and 10B are placed in front of the terminal port P1 and the terminal fittings 10B in front of the terminal port P2, respectively, and the conductive bar can be electrically connected to the circuit breaker 1 by inserting the conductive bar into the terminal port P1 and the terminal port P2. In this state, only the confirmation display section 21C is exposed (FIG. 6(b)), and the operator is notified of the current state of the power supply side terminal 4 of the circuit breaker 1 (here, the input voltage is 100V and the conductive bar is to be connected to the neutral terminal and the central voltage terminal).

The operating members 12 of the holding members 11A and 11B cover the upper terminal port P1 and the central terminal port P2 while sliding between the respective positions. For example, when the holding member 11B is not in the second or third position, the operating member 12 of the holding member 11B covers the terminal port P2 (FIG. 6(d)). In this way, when the holding members 11A and 11B are not in the appropriate positions, the terminal ports P1 and P2 are covered by the operating members 12 of the holding members 11A and 11B, and the insertion of the conductive bar into the terminal ports P1 and P2 is prevented. This prevents a situation in which the terminal fittings 10A and 10B or the conductive bar are deformed or damaged by forcibly connecting the conductive bar to the terminal fittings 10A and 10B even though the terminal fittings 10A and 10B are not in the appropriate positions.

According to the circuit breaker 1 having the above-mentioned configuration, the operating member 12 located outside the main case 2 and the holding member 11A equipped with the holding base 13 connected to the operating member 12 and located inside the main case 2 to hold the terminal metal fitting 10A are attached to the main case 2 so as to be slidable in the vertical direction between the first position and the second position, and the operating member 12 located outside the main case 2 and the holding member 11B connected to the operating member 12 and equipped with the holding base 13 located inside the main case 2 to hold the terminal metal fitting 10B are attached to the lower side of the holding member 11A so as to be slidable in the vertical direction between the second position and the third position, and the positions of the terminal metal fittings 10A and 10B can be adjusted by simply sliding the two holding members 11A and 11B in the vertical direction by operating from outside the main case 2. Therefore, the positions of the terminal metal fittings 10A and 10B can be adjusted more easily than before.

In addition, within the sliding range of the holding members 11A, 11B on the surface of the main body case 2, three confirmation display parts 21A, 21B, 21C are provided to indicate the positions of the terminal fittings 10A, 10B, and the confirmation display parts exposed according to the positions of the holding members 11A, 11B and the confirmation display parts covered by each operating member 12, 12 are different, and the exposed confirmation display parts indicate the current positions of the terminal fittings 10A, 10B. Therefore, the current positions of the terminal fittings 10A, 10B can be easily grasped, making it easier to carry out various tasks such as installation in a distribution board.

Furthermore, the operating member 12 of the holding member 11A covers the upper terminal port P1 while sliding between the first and second positions, and the operating member 12 of the holding member 11B covers the central terminal port P2 while sliding between the second and third positions. In other words, if the holding members 11A and 11B are not in the appropriate positions, the insertion of the conductive bar into the upper terminal port P1 or the central terminal port P2 is prevented. This makes it possible to prevent a situation in which the terminal metal fittings 10A and 10B or the conductive bar are deformed or damaged by forcibly connecting the conductive bar to the terminal metal fittings 10A and 10B even though the terminal metal fittings 10A and 10B are not in the appropriate positions.

The circuit breaker according to the present invention is not limited to the above embodiment, and the overall configuration of the circuit breaker as well as the configuration related to the sliding structure of the terminal fittings can be modified as necessary.

For example, in the above embodiment, the confirmation display portion is provided on the rear surface of the main body case, but there is no problem if the confirmation display portion is provided on the side surface of the main body case as long as it is within the sliding range of the holding members 11A, 11B.
In addition, the shape of the holding member may be such that the operating member is formed in a plate shape that covers only the side surface of the main body case, and the shape and structure of the holding member can be appropriately modified. Even with such a plate-shaped operating member, by configuring it to cover at least a part of each of the upper terminal port and the central terminal port (for example, only the side surface of each terminal port where the operating member is located) during sliding between the first position and the second position or between the second position and the third position, it is possible to achieve the effect of preventing the conductive bar from being forcibly inserted into the terminal port when each holding member is not in an appropriate position.

Furthermore, in the above embodiment, as a configuration for positioning the holding member, a holding protrusion is provided on the holding base and a locking recess is provided in the slit, but there is no problem if, for example, a locking claw is provided on the operating member, and the design of the positioning structure can be appropriately modified.
In addition, in the above embodiment, the upper terminal port P1 is the neutral terminal, but the central terminal port P2 may also be the neutral terminal, and which terminal port is the neutral terminal and which terminal port is the voltage terminal can be changed as appropriate.
