Description
The present invention relates to a method for producing a laminated fiber sheet with alignment.
In recent years, finely and uniformly aligned fiber sheets made of polymeric materials such as polyethylene phthalate and polystyrene have been attracting attention as scaffolding materials for cell culture and for use as filters.
In particular, in the field of cell culture, 3D cell culture has been attracting attention in recent years. 3D cell culture mimics the growth morphology of cells in an actual living organism in vitro (outside the body), in which cells grow three-dimensionally to build biological organs. As a scaffold material for realizing this 3D cell culture, laminated fiber sheets with fine and uniform alignment have been attracting increasing attention.
For example, a scaffold material that enables 3D cell culture is known to have a structure formed by stacking aligned fiber sheet layer structures in a 90° cross pattern, as shown in Figure 1 of

First, the structure of a conventional laminated aligned fiber sheet will be described with reference to FIG.
In Figure 6, the laminated aligned
Next, an example of a method for producing a conventional laminated aligned
(1) In a conventional method for manufacturing a laminated aligned fiber sheet, first, a plurality of
(2) Next, of the multiple
The joining is generally performed by thermal fusion, but is not limited thereto, and a joining method using an adhesive material may also be used.
(3) As a result, a laminated aligned
(4) Next, as shown in FIG. 7-4, the third fiber mesh layer 8 is aligned with the four-layer laminated aligned
(5) As a result, a laminated aligned fiber sheet 9 having a six-layer structure as shown in FIG. 7-5 is completed.
When it is desired to further increase the number of layers of the laminated aligned fiber sheet, the same process is repeated to produce it.
In this example, a method for manufacturing a laminated aligned fiber sheet having multiple layers by stacking and bonding fiber mesh layers one by one is shown, but a manufacturing method in which all fiber mesh layers are stacked together and then bonded together may also be used.
Next, a conventional method for manufacturing a laminated aligned fiber sheet having a fiber mesh layer structure different from the examples shown in Figures 6 to 7-1 to 7-5 will be described with reference to Figures 8-1 to 8-3. Figures 8-1 to 8-3 are schematic diagrams showing the steps of an example of a conventional method for manufacturing a laminated aligned fiber sheet.

(b) Next, the multiple manufactured
(3) Thereafter, the process of overlapping and joining is repeated so that the positions of the
In this case as well, a manufacturing method may be applied in which all the fiber mesh layers are stacked together and then bonded together.
However, in the manufacturing method of the laminated aligned fiber sheet of
In addition, in order to stack the
Furthermore, in the laminated aligned
Furthermore, even the slightest misalignment between the
The object of the present invention is to provide a method for stably and efficiently forming a laminated fiber sheet with fine and uniform alignment, which can be used as a scaffolding material in 3D cell culture, a high-performance filtration filter, etc.

Through the above steps, a laminated aligned
In this laminated aligned
In addition, unlike the conventional process of aligning and stacking the fiber mesh layer structures, a laminate without misalignment between layers can be formed simply by applying fibers at a predetermined position at high speed. This makes it possible to stably manufacture and provide laminated fiber sheets with uniform alignment with high quality and high productivity. In other words, there is no need to align and stack the fiber mesh layer structures, which was a cause of misalignment between fiber mesh layers in the conventional process.
In addition, the intersections between the first fibers constituting the odd-numbered layers and the second fibers constituting the even-numbered layers are entangled (bonded) by the heating process. This means that there is no need to worry about a reduction in the area of the bonded area due to misalignment between the fiber layers, and it is possible to obtain interlayer connections with high bonding quality.
Furthermore, because the first and second fibers have different fiber diameters, when the first and second fibers are entangled at their intersections during the heating process, the first and second fibers melt and fuse together, but even if they fuse to the maximum extent possible, gaps between each fiber layer can be maintained. Therefore, structural defects such as the fiber layers becoming integrated do not occur, and it is possible to manufacture and provide a laminated aligned fiber sheet with stable quality.

FIG. 3 is a flow chart showing the steps for producing an n-layer laminated aligned fiber sheet using the apparatus shown in FIG.
(1) First, in step S01, a film substrate that has been prepared in advance and attached to a winding drum is coated with a first fiber to form a first fiber layer.
(2) Then, in step S02, the film substrate on which the first fiber layer has been formed is temporarily removed from the winding drum, rotated by 90°, and then reattached to the winding drum. The second fiber is applied to the film substrate to form a second fiber layer.
(3) Thereafter, by repeating steps S01 and S02, the film substrate on which the (n-1)th fiber layer has been formed is temporarily removed, and in step Sn, it is rotated by 90° and then attached to the winding drum again, and a second fiber is applied (when n is an even number) to form the nth fiber layer.
(4) Next, in process Sn+1, the laminated aligned fiber sheet structure in which the nth fiber layer is formed on the film substrate is heat-treated, and then in process Sn+2, the film substrate is peeled off to complete an n-layer laminated aligned fiber sheet.
Note that in Figures 2A, 2B, and 3, an example of a method of applying fibers to a film substrate is shown in which fibers are applied to a film substrate mounted on a rotating drum, but other methods such as inkjet or dispense drawing may be used to apply a fiber layer to the film substrate.

<Layered aligned fiber sheet>
Next, a cross-sectional schematic diagram of the laminated aligned
As shown in FIG. 5-1, the laminated aligned

In the first embodiment, the diameter of the

In the first embodiment, the

The laminated aligned fiber sheet manufacturing method of the present invention makes it possible to bond the layers of the fiber sheet without misalignment and with high connection quality.
