Description
The present invention relates to an image projection device.
今日において、DLP(Digital Light Processing)プロジェクタ装置が知られている。 DLP (Digital Light Processing) projector devices are known today. In this DLP projector device, light emitted from a light source is projected onto a color wheel. The color wheel is formed by arranging several types of filters that transmit specific wavelengths along the circumferential direction of the disk, and is rotated at a high speed on the optical path of light from the light source. The light that passes through each filter of such a color wheel is projected onto a light modulation element via a light tunnel. The light modulation element forms an image for projection based on the light that has passed through each filter of the color wheel. This image for projection is projected onto a screen or the like via a projection optical system.
光変調素子としては、例えばDMD(Digita1 Micro mirror Device)が用いられる。 As an example of the light modulation element, a DMD (Digital Micro Mirror Device) is used. The DMD forms a projected image in synchronization with the rotation of a color wheel based on image data input from an external device such as a personal computer. That is, the DMD forms a projected image while synchronizing the color modulation of the signal by driving an image conversion element in synchronization with a rotation reference position signal obtained based on the rotation reference position of the color wheel.
There is also a known projection device that uses a color detector to detect colored light other than the one emitted from the projection lens, and controls the rotation timing of the color wheel or the synchronization timing of color modulation so that the output of the color detector is minimum or zero.
Patent document 1 (JP Patent Publication 2004-163876 A) discloses that a screen image is read by an image reading means (image sensor) placed on the central optical axis of the incident light path when the optical switch in a reflective optical switch panel is OFF. It also discloses that an image signal processing unit performs projection adjustment processing (projection image correction processing, setting update, etc.) based on the read image information. It also discloses that monitor output and data utilization are performed, and that a projection image is devised (test pattern, etc.) to perform image projection and image reading simultaneously.
However, in conventional DLP projector devices, the condition of the projection optical system components was judged by measuring or visually inspecting the image projected onto the screen. This made it difficult to accurately judge the condition of the projection optical system components.
The present invention was made in consideration of the above-mentioned problems, and aims to provide an image projection device that can accurately determine the component condition of the projection optical system.
In order to solve the above-mentioned problems and achieve the object, the present invention provides an image projection device that projects an image onto a projection surface via a projection optical system, comprising a first light detection unit that detects the amount of light before it enters the projection optical system, and a second light detection unit that detects the amount of light after it has passed through the projection optical system, a reflective and transmissive member that reflects a portion of the light that has passed through the projection optical system and guides it to the projection surface and transmits a portion of it, a comparison unit that compares the amounts of light detected by the first and second light detection units, and an alarm control unit that controls the alarm unit to perform a predetermined alarm operation when the difference between the light amounts is a predetermined value or greater, wherein the first light detection unit receives light that has deviated from the optical path of light traveling to the projection optical system, and the second light detection unit receives light that has passed through the reflective and transmissive member .
The present invention has the effect of enabling accurate determination of the component condition of the projection optical system.

(Configuration of the optical engine)

The
The

The

The
ON light (light necessary for the image) reflected by the
The light emitted from the top of the
To explain in more detail once again, the
The tiny reflective mirrors are arranged in an array. Each reflective mirror can be driven (switched) independently, for example to tilt ON or OFF. In this way, by switching the tilt of the reflective mirror, the light passes through the projection
DMDコントローラは、PWM(Pulse Width Modulation:パルス幅変調)制御により、このような反射ミラーのON/OFF期間を制御する。 The brightness of the projected image depends on the ON/OFF interval of each reflecting mirror in one frame, for example. Increasing the period during which the reflecting mirror is ON increases the projection time of the light source onto the illuminated surface, resulting in a brighter projected image. Conversely, increasing the period during which the reflecting mirror is OFF decreases the projection time of the light source onto the illuminated surface, resulting in a darker projected image. The DMD controller controls the ON/OFF periods of such reflecting mirrors using PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) control.
The color representation of the projected image is achieved by irradiating the
In other words, a color image is formed by combining the lighting time of the light source of each color with the ON/OFF time of the extremely small reflective mirror. Any light source that can be reflected by the extremely small mirror can be used as the light source, such as a lamp, LED (light emitting diode), or laser light. In addition to visible light, invisible light such as ultraviolet light and near infrared light can also be used.
