Description
The present invention relates to an actuator that uses fluid pressure.
A variety of actuators are used in the industrial and medical fields. Among these actuators, those that use air pressure have attracted attention. Air pressure has the characteristics of being lightweight and flexible, and has high output, making it extremely useful in some applications.
The support unit proposed in
The inventors have studied the use of a spirally deforming actuator as a support unit and have come to recognize the following problem. This actuator can generate sufficient support force in a small-diameter pipeline, but as the diameter of the pipeline increases, in other words, as the actuator's deformation increases, the support force decreases.
This disclosure has been made in light of such circumstances, and one of its exemplary objectives is to provide an actuator in which the generated force is unlikely to decrease even when the amount of deformation increases.
One aspect of the present disclosure relates to a tube-type actuator capable of applying internal pressure. The surface layer of this actuator is provided with N deformation regions (N is an integer N≧3) that are spaced apart from one another in the axial direction. When the actuator is viewed in cross section from the axial direction, the centers of the N deformation regions are positioned with a phase difference of 360°/M (M is an integer M≧3), and the surface layer of the actuator has elastic anisotropy in each of the N deformation regions and is non-elastic in non-elastic regions other than the N deformation regions.
In addition, any combination of the above components, or conversion of the expressions disclosed herein between methods, devices, etc., are also valid aspects of the present invention.
According to one aspect of the present disclosure, the generated force can be maintained even if the amount of deformation increases.
(Overview of the embodiment)
A summary of some exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure will be described. This summary is intended to provide a simplified summary of some concepts of one or more embodiments for a basic understanding of the embodiments as a prelude to the detailed description that follows, and is not intended to limit the scope of the invention or disclosure. This summary is not intended to be a comprehensive overview of all possible embodiments, nor is it intended to identify key elements of all embodiments or to delineate the scope of some or all aspects. For convenience, the term "one embodiment" may be used to refer to one embodiment (example or variant) or multiple embodiments (examples or variants) disclosed in this specification.
The actuator according to one embodiment is a tube-type actuator capable of applying pressure to the inside, and the surface layer of the actuator is provided with N (N is an integer N≧3) deformation regions that are discretely arranged in the axial direction, and when the actuator is viewed in cross section from the axial direction, the centers of the N deformation regions are located with a phase difference of 360°/M (M is an integer M≧3), and the surface layer of the actuator has elastic anisotropy in each of the N deformation regions and is non-elastic in non-elastic regions other than the N deformation regions, and is configured to be capable of applying pressure to the inside.
In this configuration, the N deformation areas act as joints to bend the actuator. The N deformation areas come into contact with the inner wall of the pipeline, and each deformation area generates a force that pushes the inner wall from the inside. Here, the N deformation areas are formed at intervals of 360°/M when viewed in cross section, so the multiple forces with which the actuator pushes the inner wall are directed in different directions. The actuator is supported at N points relative to the pipeline, and a strong resistance (grip force) can be generated when the actuator is pulled in the axial direction of the pipeline.
In one embodiment, N=M may be used. This allows the N forces generated by the N deformation regions to be evenly distributed in N directions, generating a strong resistance force.
In one embodiment, when the actuator is viewed in cross section from the axial direction, each of the N deformation regions may exist over a range of 170° to 190° in the circumferential direction. This maximizes the amount of deformation.
In one embodiment, the angle between the directions in which the N deformation regions are easy to expand and contract and the axial direction of the actuator may be in the range of 0° to 45°.
In one embodiment, the actuator may further include a non-stretchable cord inserted inside the actuator. When used within a pipeline, the actuator can be easily retrieved by pulling the cord.
In one embodiment, the actuator may include a tube that expands when pressurized, and a cover that covers the tube. The cover may have a structure that combines N anisotropic stretch fabrics corresponding to the N deformation regions and a non-stretch fabric corresponding to the non-stretch region.
In one embodiment, the surface layer of the actuator includes a non-elastic material, and the non-elastic material may have pleats in the portions corresponding to the N deformation regions.
In one embodiment, the actuator may include N anisotropic elastic members that are airtight and correspond to the N deformation regions, and a non-elastic member that is airtight and corresponds to the non-elastic region. The N anisotropic elastic members and the non-elastic member may be joined together to be airtight.

Preferred embodiments will be described below with reference to the drawings. The same or equivalent components, parts, and processes shown in each drawing will be given the same reference numerals, and duplicated descriptions will be omitted as appropriate. In addition, the embodiments are illustrative and do not limit the invention, and all features and combinations thereof described in the embodiments are not necessarily essential to the invention.

2 shows an example where N=3 and M=3, and the centers C1-C3 of the three deformation areas 110_1-110_3 are positioned at angles offset by 120°. When the angle θ1 of the center C1 of the deformation area 110_1 is taken as 0 and the angle θ1 of the center C1 of the deformation area 110_1 is taken as 0°, the angle θ2 of the center C2 of the deformation area 110_2 is 120°, and the angle θ3 of the center C3 of the deformation area 110_3 is 240°.
The width of the deformation regions 110_1 to 110_N will now be described. The width of the
Returning to Figure 1, the surface layer of the
The angle (called the offset angle) ψ between the direction in which the N deformation regions 110_1 to 110_N are easy to expand and contract (the stretch direction) and the axial direction of the
The above is the basic configuration of the

Figure 4 shows the deformation of the
5 is a cross-sectional view showing a schematic state when the
The above is the operation of the
This advantage becomes clear when compared with the comparative technology in which M=2 (i.e., the phase difference Δθ between the deformation regions 110_1 to 110_N is 180°). FIG. 6 is a cross-sectional view that shows a schematic state when the
In comparison, with the

For example, the method of bonding the N anisotropic stretch cloths 222_1 to 222_N and the

直径Da=26mm
全長L =300mm
The dimensions of each part of the cover 220 are as follows:
Diameter Da = 26 mm
Total length L = 300 mm
Cover circumference = 82 mm
The radial width h of the deformation regions 110_1 to 110_3 is 41 mm.
Axial length w 1 of deformation regions 110_1 and 110_3 = 35 mm
Axial length of deformation region 110_2 w 1 =70 mm
Axial distance l between deformation regions 110_1, 110_2, 110_3 = 70 mm
Figure 8 shows the evaluation results of the samples fabricated (N=3). In the experiment, the
The gripping force of a helical actuator weakens when the inner diameter of the pipe exceeds 100 mm, and when the inner diameter reaches 150 mm, the gripping force becomes zero. In contrast, the sample we created maintains a gripping force of around 10 N even when the inner diameter is 150 mm.
In addition, when the inner diameter was 50 mm, the gripping force of the helical actuator was about 27 N, whereas the sample we fabricated exceeded 35 N, a significant improvement.
When using the

Next, a sample was fabricated and evaluated for the actuator with N = 4. The design parameters of the sample with N = 4 are as follows:
Dimensions of the inner tube 200:
Dimensions of cover 220 Diameter Da = 26 mm
Total length L = 300 mm
Cover circumference = 82 mm
The radial width h of the deformation regions 110_1 to 110_3 is 41 mm.
Axial length of deformation regions 110_1 to 110_4 w = 50 mm
Axial distance l between deformation regions 110_1 to 110_4 = 20 mm
FIG. 9 is a diagram showing the evaluation results of the sample with N=4. Samples with M=3 and M=4 were prepared. Comparing these two samples, it can be seen that when N=4, the case of M=4, i.e., the phase difference Δθ=90°, provides a higher grip force than the case of M=3, i.e., the phase difference Δθ=120°. From this result, it is inferred that it is desirable for N=M to be established. Comparing the results of FIG. 9 (N=4) and FIG. 8 (N=3), the case of N=3 has a higher overall grip force, and one of the factors for this is that the pressure for N=4 is set to 0.25 MPa. In addition, the design dimensions for N=4 (L, w 1 , w 2 , l, h in FIG. 7) cannot be said to be optimized, which is also a factor in the low grip force of the sample with N=4. Therefore, if the pressure and design dimensions are optimized, it is possible that the grip force of N=4 is higher.

These modifications are described below.
