Description

The present invention relates to a hinge that connects a second connection object to a first connection object in an openable and closable manner, and to an electronic device that includes the hinge.

Conventionally, many office equipment such as copiers, facsimiles, and scanners are equipped with a document reading unit (contact glass) on the top surface of the main body, as well as a document pressure plate that covers the document reading unit. The document pressure plate presses the document placed on the document reading unit into close contact with the document reading unit and maintains the position of the document relative to the document reading unit.

A known device for connecting the main body of an office machine to an original cover plate is a hinge that includes a first wing member, a cam member fixed to the first wing member, a second wing member rotatably connected to the first wing member via a pivot shaft, a slide member that can move toward and away from the cam member, and a biasing member that biases the slide member toward the cam member, thereby bringing the slide member into contact with the cam member.

In addition, some office equipment equipped with hinges is equipped with a foreign object pinch prevention section that prevents foreign objects such as tools, clothing, or fingers from entering and becoming pinched from behind the first wing member and the second wing member (see Patent Document 1).
Furthermore, in some hinges, the second wing member includes a fixed member that is fixed to the document cover and an intermediate member that connects the first wing member and the fixed member. In the hinge, when the fixed member is in a state where it is open relative to the intermediate member (lift state), the document cover is lifted relative to the main body of the multifunction device, allowing a relatively thick document to be placed between the main body (contact glass) and the document cover, and facilitating maintenance and inspection. Some of these hinges also include a foreign object pinch prevention portion that prevents foreign objects, such as tools, clothing, and fingers, from entering and being pinched between the intermediate member and the fixed member from the rear when the intermediate member and the fixed member are in a state where they are open (lift state) (see Patent Document 2).

特開2002-131990号公報JP 2002-131990 A 特開2005-91794号公報JP 2005-91794 A

However, in the hinge, the foreign object pinching prevention portion is provided on, for example, the connected object or an upper wing member, and is configured to hang down.
Therefore, in the hinge, when in the lifted state, there was a risk that a foreign object could easily enter from the rear between the intermediate member and the fixed member by rolling up or rotating the foreign object pinch prevention portion upward.

The present invention was made in consideration of the above situation, and aims to provide a hinge that prevents foreign objects from entering the space between the intermediate member and the fixed member from the rear.

The hinges according to the embodiments described in detail below are all used to connect the original cover 3 to the main body 2 of the multifunction printer 1 in an openable/closable (rotatable) manner, but the use of the hinges according to the present invention is not limited to this.
That is, the hinge according to the present invention is widely applicable to "applications for connecting one of two members (first connection object) to the other member (second connection object) in an openable/closable manner", and is used in, for example, office equipment such as scanners, faxes, copiers, and multifunction machines, automobiles, toilet seats, and various electronic devices such as rice cookers, etc. Examples of hinges for connecting one of two members to the other member in an openable/closable manner include a door portion rotatably connected to the main body of a printer, an original pressing device rotatably connected to the main body of a multifunction machine, a display rotatably connected to a stand, a toilet seat rotatably connected to a toilet seat, and a bonnet rotatably connected to the body of an automobile.

In this embodiment, the rotation angle θ of the original pressure plate 3 relative to the main body 2 also coincides with the rotation angle of the second wing member from the closed state relative to the first wing member, which will be described later. For this reason, in this embodiment, both are described as "rotation angle θ".

The bottom plate 11 of the lower fixing member 10 is a plate-like member that forms the lower part of the lower fixing member 10. The shape of the bottom plate 11 is a generally rectangular shape that is slightly longer in the front-rear direction in a plan view.
The side plates 12 of the lower fixing member 10 are plate-like members that form the left and right sides of the lower fixing member 10. The side plates 12 have a generally forward-sloping step-like shape in a side view. The lower end of the side plate 12 is connected to the end of the bottom plate 11 (the bottom plate 11 and the side plates 12, 12 are formed by bending a single metal plate at a right angle). A through hole is opened at the rear upper end of the side plate 12 for inserting the first rotating shaft 71 therethrough. A through hole is opened at the front upper end of the side plate 12 for inserting the cam member 75 therethrough.
The back plate 13 of the lower fixing member 10 is a plate-like member that forms the rear of the lower fixing member 10. The back plate 13 has a pair of front and rear plate surfaces. The shape of the back plate 13 is a generally rectangular shape that is slightly longer in the left-right direction when viewed from the front.
The lower end of the back plate 13 is connected to the rear end of the bottom plate 11 (the bottom plate 11 and the back plate 13 are formed by bending a single metal plate at a right angle).

The intermediate member 20 is a member formed of a top plate 21 and left and right side plates 22, 22 by appropriately bending a single metal plate. The intermediate member 20 is configured to be roughly U-shaped when viewed from the front, with the top plate 21 placed on the side plates 22, 22, and the side plates 22, 22 bent downward from both the left and right sides of the top plate 21. The intermediate member 20 is configured to be box-shaped with openings at the left and right central parts of the lower side, with the lower ends of the side plates 22, 22 bent so as to extend toward the left and right central parts. The intermediate member 20 is supported rotatably on the lower fixed member 10 via the first rotating shaft 71 in a state in which the first slider 40, the second slider 50, the spring member 60, the damper 62, etc. are housed as described below. A through hole for inserting the first rotating shaft 71 is opened in the left and right direction at the rear of the side plates 22, 22.

The first rotating shaft 71 is a generally cylindrical (pin-shaped) member.
The first rotating shaft 71 is inserted through the through hole of the side plates 22 of the intermediate member 20 and the through hole of the side plate 12 of the lower fixed member 10. The intermediate member 20 is rotatably connected to the lower fixed member 10 via the first rotating shaft 71.

The upper fixing member 30 is one embodiment of the fixing member according to the present invention, and is a substantially cylindrical member formed by appropriately bending one metal plate and including a top plate 31 and left and right side plates 32. The upper fixing member 30 is configured to be substantially U-shaped in front view, with the top plate 31 disposed above the side plates 32 and the side plates 32 being bent downward from both the left and right sides of the top plate 31. The upper fixing member 30 is rotatably supported by the intermediate member 20 via a second rotating shaft 72, as described later. The upper fixing member 30 is fixed to the original cover plate 3.
Further, a through hole for mounting the pressure receiving portion 73 is formed in the side plates 32 .

The second pivot shaft 72 is a member that forms a pivot shaft that rotatably connects the upper fixing member 30 to the intermediate member 20. The second pivot shaft 72 is a roughly cylindrical member that is inserted through the front parts of the upper fixing member 30 and the intermediate member 20. As a result, the upper fixing member 30 is rotatably connected to the intermediate member 20 via the second pivot shaft 72.

The pressure receiving portion 73 is configured in a pin shape. The pressure receiving portion 73 is inserted into the through hole of the side plates 32 and fixed to the upper fixing member 30. The surface of the pressure receiving portion 73 on the slider side (the second slider 50 side) is configured as a cam surface and abuts against the cam abutment portion 52 of the second slider 50.
It should be noted that the pressure receiving portion 73 is not limited to a pin-shaped portion, but may have other configurations, such as a configuration formed by bending a plate-shaped member.

The first slider 40 is an embodiment of a sliding member according to the present invention. The first slider 40 is made of a resin material.
The first slider 40 includes a main body 41 having a bottom, and a cam abutment portion 42 protruding rearward (outside the main body 41) from the rear surface of the bottom of the main body 41. The first slider 40 is configured to abut against the cam member 75 at the rear surface of the cam abutment portion 42. A spring receiving hole that accommodates the rear end portion of the spring member 60 is formed in the first slider 40 (main body 41). The first slider 40 is accommodated in the rear portion of the interior of the intermediate member 20 so as to be slidable in the front-rear direction.

The second slider 50 is an embodiment of a sliding member according to the present invention. The second slider 50 is made of a resin material.
The second slider 50 is open at the rear and has a bottom at the front. The second slider 50 has a cam abutment portion 52 at the front surface of the bottom. A spring receiving hole for accommodating the front end of the spring member 60 is formed in the second slider 50.

In this embodiment, the combination of the intermediate member 20, the upper fixed member 30, the first slider 40, the second slider 50, the second pivot shaft 72, and the pressure receiving portion 73 corresponds to one embodiment of the second wing member according to the present invention. In other words, one embodiment of the second wing member according to the present invention comprises the intermediate member 20, the upper fixed member 30, the first slider 40, the second slider 50, the second pivot shaft 72, and the pressure receiving portion 73. Then, the upper fixed member 30 is fixed to the original cover 3, and the second wing member is fixed to the second connection object.

The second wing member transitions between a fully open state and a closed state with respect to the first wing member . The state in which the second wing member is closest to the first wing member is the "closed state" of the second wing member (the original cover 3 is closed with respect to the main body 2) (see FIG. 5 or FIG. 6). The closed state refers to a state in which the rotation angle θ of the second wing member from the closed state with respect to the first wing member is 0°. Also, the state in which the second wing member is most distant from the first wing member is the "fully open state" of the second wing member. The fully open state refers to a state in which the original cover 3 is open with respect to the main body 2, and the rotation angle θ is 90°. Also, the state of the second wing member between the closed state and the fully open state is the "open state" of the second wing member (see FIG. 7 or FIG. 8). The open state refers to a state in which the original cover 3 is open with respect to the main body 2, and the rotation angle θ satisfies the relationship of 0°<θ<90°.
The closed state of the second wing member is not limited to a rotation angle θ of 0°, and the fully open state of the second wing member is not limited to a rotation angle θ of 90°. The rotation angle θ of the second wing member in the closed state or the rotation angle θ of the second wing member in the fully open state can be appropriately set to other angles depending on the specifications, applications, etc.

The spring member 60 is one embodiment of a biasing member, and is made of a metal coil spring (compression spring). The pair of spring members 60 are housed side by side inside the intermediate member 20 (the spring receiving holes of the first slider 40 and the second slider 50).

The rear end of the spring member 60 is inserted into a spring receiving hole formed in the first slider 40 and abuts against the bottom surface of the spring receiving hole. The front end of the spring member 60 is inserted into a spring receiving hole formed in the second slider 50 and abuts against the bottom surface of the spring receiving hole.

The spring member 60 generates a biasing force, i.e., the force (elastic force) that causes the spring member 60, which has been elastically deformed in the direction of compression, to return to its original shape (the shape when no external force is acting), biases the first slider 40 in the longitudinal direction of the intermediate member 20 in a direction approaching the first pivot shaft 71, and biases the second slider 50 in the longitudinal direction of the intermediate member 20 in a direction approaching the pressure-receiving portion 73.

The damper 62 is housed in the spring receiving holes of the first slider 40 and the second slider 50. The main body of the damper 62 is fixed to the bottom of the second slider 50, and its tip protrudes toward the first rotating shaft 71. The damper 62 generates a reaction force when the tip receives a pressing force from the bottom of the first slider 40. Therefore, the reaction force reduces the speed at which the first slider 40 moves, and a buffering effect is generated by the damper 62. The damper 62 is configured as a general fluid damper.

The cam member 75 is made of a resin material and is configured in a pin shape. The cam member 75 is inserted into a through hole of the side plates 12 and is fixed to the lower fixed member 10 forward of the first rotating shaft 71. The surface of the cam member 75 on the slider side (first slider 40 side) is configured as a cam surface and abuts against the cam abutment portion 42 of the first slider 40.
The cam member 75 is not limited to a pin-shaped member, but may have other configurations, such as a configuration formed by bending a plate-shaped member.

When the cam member 75 is attached to the lower fixed member 10 and the second wing member is in the closed state, the cam abutment portion 42 of the first slider 40 abuts against the cam member 75, and the cam abutment portion 52 of the second slider 50 abuts against the pressure-receiving portion 73. As a result, due to the elastic force generated in the spring member 60, the intermediate member 20 (second wing member) is urged to rotate in an opening direction relative to the lower fixed member 10, and the upper fixed member 30 is urged to rotate in a closing direction relative to the intermediate member 20. At this time, the tip portion of the damper 62 is pressed by the bottom portion of the second slider 50 and is pushed toward the main body portion of the damper 62.
Also, when the second wing member is in the open state, the cam abutment portion 42 of the first slider 40 abuts against the cam member 75, and the cam abutment portion 52 of the second slider 50 abuts against the pressure-receiving portion 73. As a result, due to the elastic force generated in the spring member 60, the intermediate member 20 (second wing member) is urged to rotate in the opening direction relative to the lower fixed member 10, and the upper fixed member 30 is urged to rotate in the closing direction relative to the intermediate member 20.
Furthermore, even when the second wing member is in the fully open state, the cam abutment portion 42 of the first slider 40 abuts against the cam member 75, and the cam abutment portion 52 of the second slider 50 abuts against the pressure-receiving portion 73. As a result, due to the elastic force generated in the spring member 60, the intermediate member 20 (second wing member) is urged to rotate in the opening direction relative to the lower fixed member 10, and the upper fixed member 30 is urged to rotate in the closing direction relative to the intermediate member 20.
4 to 6, the cam abutment portion 42 of the first slider 40 is configured to abut against the cam member 75 from the closed state to the fully open state of the second wing member regardless of the rotation angle θ of the second wing member. When the second wing member is in the closed state to the fully open state (the closed state, the open state, and the fully open state of the second wing member), the cam abutment portion 42 of the first slider 40 abuts against the cam member 75, and the cam abutment portion 52 of the second slider 50 abuts against the pressure receiving portion 73. Due to the elastic force generated in the spring member 60, the intermediate member 20 (second wing member) is biased to rotate in the opening direction relative to the lower fixed member 10, and the upper fixed member 30 is biased to rotate in the closing direction relative to the intermediate member 20.

As described above, the cam abutment portion 42 of the first slider 40 is configured to abut against the cam member 75 when the second wing member is in a closed state to a fully open state, and the spring member 60 biases the second wing member to rotate in an opening direction relative to the first wing member when the second wing member is in a closed state to a fully open state. This eliminates the need for difficult adjustments to the biasing force of the spring member 60, and also provides a simple configuration for biasing the second wing member to rotate in an opening direction relative to the first wing member by the spring member 60.

As shown in FIGS. 2 to 4 , the original cover 3 (second connection object) has a cover 4 .
The cover 4 is a member that constitutes the side walls and the upper wall of the original cover 3, and is fixed by fasteners such as a frame or bolts. The cover 4 has a notch 5 at the rear. The notch 5 is formed at the rear end of the cover 4 so as to be open downward.
A fixing frame or the like is disposed within the cover 4, and an upper fixing member 30 of the hinge 100 is fixed to the fixing frame with a fastener such as a bolt, thereby fixing the hinge 100 to the original cover 3 (second connection object). The hinge 100 is disposed inside the cover 4, and disposed forward of the cutout portion 5 of the cover 4. The hinge 100 is configured so as to be exposed from the cutout portion 5 of the cover 4 in rear view.

3, 4, 9 to 11, or 14, the intermediate member 20 can be in an open state relative to the lower fixed member 10 (for example, the intermediate member 20 is open at 20 degrees relative to the lower fixed member 10) and the upper fixed member 30 can be in an open state relative to the intermediate member 20 (for example, the upper fixed member 30 is at 0 degrees relative to the lower fixed member 10). By setting it in such a state, the document cover 3 can be raised relative to the main body 2 of the multifunction device 1, and a relatively thick document can be placed between the main body 2 (the contact glass at the upper end of the main body 2) and the document cover 3, and maintenance, inspection, and the like can be easily performed.
In the following, for convenience, the state in which the upper fixing member 30 is open relative to the intermediate member 20 will be referred to as the "lifted state", and the state in which the upper fixing member 30 is closed relative to the intermediate member 20 (the state in which the intermediate member 20 and the upper fixing member 30 are closest to each other) will be referred to as the "lift-released state".

2 , 5 to 8 , 12 , or 13 , in the lift-released state, the upper fixing member 30 is disposed so as to cover the outside of the intermediate member 20. That is, the top plate 31 of the upper fixing member 30 is disposed above the top plate 21 of the intermediate member 20, and the side plates 32, 32 of the upper fixing member 30 are disposed on the left and right outer sides of the side plates 22, 22 of the intermediate member 20.
In addition, in the lift-released state, a predetermined space is formed between the top plate 21 of the intermediate member 20 and the top plate 31 of the upper fixing member 30 .

As shown in Figures 2 to 14, in the lifted state, the foreign object pinch prevention section 90 prevents a foreign object (e.g., tools, clothing, fingers, etc.) from entering and becoming pinched between the intermediate member 20 and the upper fixing member 30 from the outside of the intermediate member 20 and the upper fixing member 30 (the rear outside of the hinge 100).
The foreign object pinching prevention unit 90 includes a shielding member 91 .

The shielding member 91 of the foreign object pinching prevention portion 90 is a plate-shaped member made of a single piece of metal material. The left and right width of the shielding member 91 is configured to be substantially the same as the left and right width of the intermediate member 20 or the upper fixing member 30.
The shielding member 91 is arranged so as to hang downward from the outside of the end portion (rear end portion of the upper fixing member 30) opposite the side where the second pivot shaft 72 is arranged in the upper fixing member 30 in the closed state of the second wing member, the open state of the second wing member, and the lift state, from the outside of the rear end portion of the upper fixing member 30 to the outside of the end portion (rear upper portion of the lower fixing member 10 or the rear end portion of the intermediate member 20) opposite the side where the second pivot shaft 72 is arranged. In this way, the shielding member 91 is configured to block the space with the outside in the lift state so as not to be seen from the rear outside of the intermediate member 20 and the upper fixing member 30. Also, in the lift state, the shielding member 91 is arranged from above the top plate 21 of the intermediate member 20 to the rear end portion of the intermediate member 20.

The shielding member 91 is configured to be rotatable with one end (upper end) supported by the upper fixed member 30. In the lifted state, the shielding member 91 is configured to be maintained (not to open) in a state in which it shields the space with the outside so that it cannot be seen from the rear outside of the intermediate member 20 and the upper fixed member 30 (a state in which it is positioned from the outside of the rear end of the upper fixed member 30 to the end of the intermediate member 20 opposite the side where the second pivot shaft 72 is positioned).

As described above, in the lifted state, the shielding member 91 in the foreign object pinch prevention unit 90 is arranged from the outside of the end portion opposite the side where the second pivot shaft 72 is located in the upper fixing member 30 (the rear end portion of the upper fixing member 30) to the outside of the rear end portion of the upper fixing member 30 to the outside of the end portion opposite the side where the second pivot shaft 72 is located in the intermediate member 20 (the rear end portion of the intermediate member 20). Therefore, in the lifted state, the foreign object pinch prevention unit 90 can prevent foreign objects (e.g., tools, clothing, fingers, etc.) from entering and being pinched between the intermediate member 20 and the upper fixing member 30 from the outside of the intermediate member 20 and the upper fixing member 30.

As described above, the shielding member 91 of the foreign object pinch prevention unit 90 is configured to be maintained in a position extending from the outside of the rear end of the upper fixing member 30 to the end of the intermediate member 20 opposite the side where the second pivot shaft 72 is located in the intermediate member 20 in the lifted state, thereby preventing a foreign object from entering from the outside of the rear of the intermediate member 20 and the upper fixing member 30.

As described above, since the shielding member 91 of the foreign object pinch prevention unit 90 is a plate-shaped member, in the lifted state, it can be prevented from being easily pushed in by a foreign object and entering the device, for example by configuring the shielding member 91 to be easily deformed like a soft material such as a film or a blind-like member.

The shielding member 91 of the foreign object pinch prevention unit 90 has a pair of left and right protruding pieces 92, 92 and a pair of left and right fastening parts 94, 94.

The pair of protruding pieces 92 of the shielding member 91 of the foreign object pinching prevention portion 90 are formed in a flat plate shape protruding forward from the left and right edges of the front surface of the upper end portion of the shielding member 91. The protruding pieces 92 are provided with a substantially cylindrical convex portion 93 that protrudes outward in the left-right direction.
The upper fixing member 30 includes a pair of support parts 33, 33 that rotatably support the shielding member 91. The support parts 33 of the upper fixing member 30 are connected to the side plates 32 and are configured as flat plates that respectively protrude rearward from the rear ends of the side plates 32. The support parts 33 are configured in a generally L-shape in side view, with their rear parts protruding upward so as to be located above the top plate 31. A through hole is formed in the support part 33 at a position above the top plate 31.
A protrusion 93 of the shielding member 91 is inserted into the through hole of the support portion 33 of the upper fixing member 30, and one end (upper end) of the shielding member 91 is supported by the upper fixing member 30, so that the shielding member 91 is configured to be rotatable relative to the upper fixing member 30. The protrusion 93 of the shielding member 91 is configured as a rotation axis when the shielding member 91 rotates relative to the upper fixing member 30.

The fastening portion 94 of the shielding member 91 of the foreign object pinching prevention portion 90 fastens the shielding member 91 so as to maintain a state in which it is disposed from the outside of the rear end portion of the upper fixing member 30 to the end portion of the intermediate member 20 opposite the side where the second pivot shaft 72 is disposed. The pair of fastening portions 94, 94 of the shielding member 91 protrude forward from the left and right portions, respectively, of the front surface of the other end portion (lower end portion) of the shielding member 91, and the protruding side end portion (front portion) protrudes outward in the left-right direction. The fastening portion 94 of the shielding member 91 is configured so as to hook onto the protruding portion 14 of the lower fixing member 10 at the portion where the protruding side end portion (front portion) protrudes outward in the left-right direction.
The lower fixing member 10 includes a pair of protruding portions 14, 14 configured to hook the pair of fastening portions 94, 94 of the shielding member 91, respectively. The protruding portion 14 of the lower fixing member 10 is connected to the side plate 12 and configured as a flat plate that protrudes inward in the left-right direction from the rear end of the side plate 12. The protruding portion 14 of the lower fixing member 10 is located outside the fastening portion 94 (rear portion of the protruding side end) of the shielding member 91 and abuts against the fastening portion 94 of the shielding member 91. The portion of the fastening portion 94 of the shielding member 91 that protrudes outward from the protruding side end is located in front of the protruding portion 14 of the lower fixing member 10 and abuts against the front surface of the fastening portion 94 of the shielding member 91. The protruding portion 14 of the lower fixing member 10 is disposed from the vicinity of the lower end of the lower fixing member 10 to above the first pivot shaft 71.
When the second wing member is in the closed state, the second wing member is in the open state, and also in the lifted state, the shielding member 91 of the foreign object pinch prevention portion 90 is maintained in a position extending from the outside of the rear end portion of the upper fixing member 30 to the end portion opposite the side where the second pivot shaft 72 of the intermediate member 20 is located, with the fastening portion 94 of the shielding member 91 hooked onto the protrusion 14 of the lower fixing member 10.

As described above, when the second wing member is in the closed state, the second wing member is in the open state, and also in the lifted state, the shielding member 91 of the foreign object pinch prevention portion 90 is maintained in a position extending from the outside of the rear end portion of the upper fixing member 30 to the end portion opposite the side on which the second pivot shaft 72 of the intermediate member 20 is located, with the fastening portion 94 of the shielding member 91 hooked onto the protrusion 14 of the lower fixing member 10, thereby preventing foreign objects from entering from the outside at the rear of the hinge 100 .

As described above, the fastening portion 94 of the shielding member 91 of the foreign object pinch prevention portion 90 protrudes from the inner surface of the shielding member 91, and the protruding side end is configured to protrude outward in the left-right direction, and the part of the protruding side end that protrudes outward is configured to hook onto the lower fixed member 10. Therefore, with a simple configuration, the shielding member 91 can be maintained in a state positioned from the outside of the rear end of the upper fixed member 30 to the end opposite the side on which the second pivot shaft 72 of the intermediate member 20 is positioned.

As described above, the protrusion 14 of the lower fixing member 10 is configured to hook onto the fastening portion 94 of the shielding member 91 of the foreign object pinch prevention portion 90, and is positioned from near the lower end of the lower fixing member 10 to above the first pivot shaft 71, so that the shielding member 91 can be maintained in a state in which it is positioned from the outside of the rear end of the upper fixing member 30 to the end of the intermediate member 20 opposite the side on which the second pivot shaft 72 is positioned, with a simple configuration.

The protrusion 14 of the lower fixing member 10 is configured to protrude further upward from the upper end of the side plate 12. The protrusion 14 of the lower fixing member 10 is provided with a stopper 15 configured to protrude inward in the left-right direction at its upper end. When the upper fixing member 30 is opened in the opening direction relative to the intermediate member 20 to be in the lifted state, the stopper 15 of the lower fixing member 10 abuts against the fastening portion 94 of the shielding member 91 of the foreign object pinching prevention portion 90 in the lifted state, thereby preventing the fastening portion 94 of the shielding member 91 from falling off from the state in which it is caught on the protrusion 14 of the lower fixing member 10.

As described above, the stopper 15 of the protrusion 14 of the lower fixed member 10 abuts the fastening portion 94 of the shielding member 91 of the foreign object pinch prevention portion 90 when the upper fixed member 30 is opened in the opening direction relative to the intermediate member 20 to be in the lifted state, preventing the fastening portion 94 of the shielding member 91 from falling off from the state in which it is hooked on the protrusion 14 of the lower fixed member 10.Therefore, with a simple configuration, the shielding member 91 can be maintained in a state in which it is positioned from the outside of the rear end of the lower fixed member 10 to the end of the intermediate member 20 opposite the side on which the second pivot shaft 72 is positioned.

Furthermore, the fastening portion 94 of the shielding member 91 of the foreign object pinching prevention portion 90 is configured so as not to protrude from the left and right sides of the shielding member 91. Therefore, the shielding member 91 can be maintained in a state in which it is disposed from the outside of the rear end portion of the lower fixed member 10 to the end portion of the intermediate member 20 opposite to the side where the second rotating shaft 72 is disposed.

The upper end position of the shielding member 91 of the foreign object pinching prevention unit 90 is configured to be located above the rotation axis (convex portion 93 of the shielding member 91) when the shielding member 91 rotates relative to the upper fixed member 30 in the closed state of the second wing member, the open state of the second wing member, and the lifted state. This allows the upper end position of the shielding member 91 to be brought closer to the upper end of the notch portion 5 of the cover 4 of the original press plate 3 (second connected object), and more reliably prevents foreign objects from entering the notch portion 5 of the cover 4 of the original press plate 3 (second connected object).

The shielding member 91 of the foreign object pinch prevention portion 90 is configured so as to incline from top to bottom to front when the second wing member is in the open state or in the lifted state (the upper part of the shielding member 91 inclines in the opposite direction to the side on which the intermediate member 20 is positioned).
As a result, the upper end position of the shielding member 91 is brought closer to the upper end of the cutout portion 5 of the cover 4 of the original pressing plate 3 (second connecting object) to shield the cutout portion 5 of the cover 4 of the original pressing plate 3, thereby more reliably preventing foreign objects from entering the cutout portion 5 of the cover 4 of the original pressing plate 3 (second connecting object).

The shielding member 91 of the foreign object pinch prevention unit 90 has a protruding ridge 95 that protrudes slightly forward on at least a portion of its front edge (inner surface). The protruding ridges 95 of the shielding member 91 are provided on the upper edge and left and right edges of the front surface of the shielding member 91. The protruding ridges 95 of the shielding member 91 reduce the exposed portion of the inside of the hinge 100 as much as possible, and by being configured in this way, the hinge 100 can be configured to have relatively high flame retardancy.

The shielding member 91 of the foreign object pinching prevention portion 90 is configured to be larger than the left-right width of the lower fixed member 10, and is formed in a generally frustum shape that widens toward the bottom. In this way, the shielding member 91 is configured to widen toward the bottom, and the shape of the shielding member 91 is made to more closely match the shape of the notch 5 of the cover 4 of the original pressure plate 3 (second connection object), so that it is possible to more reliably prevent foreign objects from entering the notch 5 of the cover 4 of the original pressure plate 3 (second connection object).

As shown in Figures 12 to 17, the hinge 100 includes a partition member 80 and a biasing member 85.

The partition member 80 is disposed within the lower fixed member 10 (first wing member) and is configured to divide the space within the lower fixed member 10 into upper and lower parts. The partition member 80 is configured so that the cam member 75 and the first rotating shaft 71 are not exposed (not visible from below) when viewed from below (the side opposite to the first wing member).
The partition member 80 is formed by appropriately bending a single metal plate. The partition member 80 includes a pair of left and right side plate portions 81, 81 and a partition portion 82 connected to the side plate portions 81, 81. The side plate portions 81 and the partition portion 82 of the partition member 80 are each formed in a flat plate shape. The pair of left and right side plate portions 81, 81 are each formed to protrude upward from the left end portion or the right end portion of the partition portion 82. The partition member 80 is formed in a substantially U-shape when viewed from the front.

The pair of side plate portions 81, 81 of the partition member 80 are disposed so as to be adjacent to the pair of side plates 12, 12 inside the pair of side plates 12, 12 of the lower fixing member 10. A through hole for inserting the cam member 75 is opened in the front portion of the side plate portion 81 of the partition member 80, and a through hole for inserting the first rotating shaft 71 is opened in the rear portion of the side plate portion 81 of the partition member 80. The partition member 80 is fixed to the lower fixing member 10 (inside the lower fixing member 10) with the cam member 75 inserted through the through hole in the front portion of the side plate portion 81 and the first rotating shaft 71 inserted through the through hole in the rear portion of the side plate portion 81.

The partition portion 82 of the partition member 80 is disposed so as to extend from the cam member 75 (the lower portion of the cam member 75) to the back plate 13 of the lower fixing member 10 (below the first pivot shaft 71). The partition portion 82 of the partition member 80 is disposed so as to extend across the left and right side plates 12 of the lower fixing member 10 and is configured to connect a pair of side plate portions 81 (lower portions of the side plate portions 81). The partition portion 82 of the partition member 80 is disposed below the cam member 75 and the first pivot shaft 71 in a state where it is attached to the lower fixing member 10. The partition portion 82 of the partition member 80 separates the side (upper side) where the cam member 75 and the first pivot shaft 71 are disposed from the side (lower side) opposite to the side where the cam member 75 and the first pivot shaft 71 are disposed within the lower fixing member 10. The first wing member 72 is disposed below the cam member 75 and the first rotating shaft 71 so that the cam member 75 and the first rotating shaft 71 are not exposed when viewed from below (the side opposite to the first wing member).

In this way, the partition portion 82 of the partition member 80 is disposed within the lower fixed member 10 and configured so that the cam member 75 and the first rotating shaft 71 are not exposed when viewed from below (the bottom plate 11 side of the lower fixed member 10).
Therefore, the exposed portion of the inside of the hinge 100 can be reduced, and the hinge 100 can be configured to have a relatively high flame retardancy.

When the rotation angle θ of the second wing member relative to the first wing member from the closed state is in a predetermined range from 0° to a predetermined angle, the holding angle φ (a state where 0°≦θ≦φ), that is, when the rotation angle θ of the document cover 3 relative to the main body 2 of the multifunction printer 1 is in the range from 0° to the holding angle φ, the rotation angle θ of the second wing member is maintained when the operator releases his/her hand from the document cover 3. For example, the holding angle φ is set to 60° (rotation angle θ = holding angle φ = 60°). Note that the holding angle φ can also be set to an angle other than 60°.

The biasing member 85 is attached to the partition member 80 and disposed within the lower fixing member 10 (first wing member).
The biasing member 85 comes into contact with the cam member 75 in the vicinity of the holding angle φ (rotation angle θ=60°) at which the rotation angle θ of the second wing member is held.
By abutting against the cam member 75, the biasing member 85 biases the second wing member in a closing direction relative to the second wing member which is biased by the spring member 60 to rotate in an opening direction, thereby maintaining a state in which the rotational force tending to close the second wing member due to the weight of the original pressure plate 3 (second connection object) fixed to the upper fixed member 30 and the rotational force tending to open the second wing member due to the biasing force of the spring member 60 are roughly balanced.
In the closed state, the biasing member 85 does not come into contact with the cam member 75 and does not bias the second wing member in the closing direction. When the second wing member rotates from the closed state in the opening direction and approaches the holding angle φ (rotation angle θ = 60°) at which the rotation angle θ is held, the biasing member 85 comes into contact with the cam member 75 and biases the second wing member in the closing direction. When the rotation angle θ of the second wing member ranges from the holding angle φ to the fully open state, the biasing member 85 comes into contact with the cam member 75 and biases the second wing member in the closing direction.

The shape of the cam contact portion 42 of the first slider 40 or the cam surface of the cam member 75 is determined in advance so that when the biasing member 85 is in contact with the cam member 75, the rotational force that tries to close the second wing member due to the weight of the original cover plate 3 fixed to the upper fixed member 30 and the rotational force that tries to open the second wing member due to the biasing force of the spring member 60 are roughly balanced.

As described above, when the biasing member 85 abuts against the cam member 75 near the holding angle φ at which the rotation angle θ of the second wing member is maintained, the second wing member is biased by the spring member 60 to rotate in the opening direction, and the second wing member is biased in the closing direction, thereby maintaining a state in which the rotational force attempting to close the second wing member due to the weight of the original pressure plate 3 (second connection object) fixed to the upper fixed member 30 (second wing member) and the rotational force attempting to open the second wing member due to the biasing force of the spring member 60 are roughly balanced.
Therefore, the hinge 100 can stabilize a state in which the rotational force tending to close the second wing member due to the weight of the second connection object fixed to the second wing member and the rotational force tending to open the second wing member due to the biasing force of the spring member 60 are maintained in a roughly balanced state.

In addition, when the rotation angle θ of the second wing member ranges from the holding angle φ to the fully open state, the biasing member 85 abuts against the cam member 75, thereby biasing the second wing member in a closing direction relative to the second wing member which is biased by the spring member 60 to rotate in the opening direction, thereby maintaining a state in which the rotational force tending to close the second wing member due to the weight of the original pressure plate 3 (second connection object) fixed to the upper fixed member 30 (second wing member) and the rotational force tending to open the second wing member due to the biasing force of the spring member 60 are roughly balanced.
Therefore, in the hinge 100, as the rotation angle θ of the second wing member ranges from the holding angle φ to the fully open state, a state can be stabilized in which a rotational force tending to close the second wing member due to the weight of the second connection object fixed to the second wing member and a rotational force tending to open the second wing member due to the biasing force of the spring member 60 are maintained in a roughly balanced state.

In addition, the biasing member 85 can be configured to bias the second wing member in the direction of closing when the rotation angle θ of the second wing member ranges from the closed state to the holding angle φ, thereby maintaining a roughly balanced state between the rotational force tending to close the second wing member due to the weight of the document pressure plate 3 (second connection object) fixed to the upper fixed member 30 (second wing member) and the rotational force tending to open the second wing member due to the biasing force of the spring member 60.
In addition, the biasing member 85 can be configured to bias the second wing member in the direction of closing when the rotation angle θ of the second wing member ranges from the closed state to the fully open state, thereby maintaining a roughly balanced state between the rotational force tending to close the second wing member due to the weight of the document pressure plate 3 (second connection object) fixed to the upper fixed member 30 (second wing member) and the rotational force tending to open the second wing member due to the biasing force of the spring member 60.

The biasing member 85 is formed by appropriately bending a plate-shaped member made of a single metal material. The biasing member 85 includes a contact portion 86 and a protrusion 87.
The urging member 85 is composed of a portion that slopes downward and forward from its upper end, a portion that is bent from the lower end of the portion that slopes downward and forward and extends so as to slope downward and rearward, a portion that is bent from the lower end of the portion that slopes downward and rearward and extends forward, and a portion that is bent from the front end of the portion that extends forward and extends upward.

A portion of the urging member 85 that slopes downward and forward from the upper end is configured as a contact portion 86. When the urging member 85 is attached to the partition member 80 and disposed within the lower fixed member 10, the rear lower surface of the abutment portion 86 of the urging member 85 is in a state of abutting against the first pivot shaft 71. In addition, when the abutment portion 86 (rear lower surface of the abutment portion 86) of the urging member 85 is in a state of abutting against the first pivot shaft 71, the front upper surface of the abutment portion 86 of the urging member 85 abuts against the cam member 75 when urging the second wing member in the closing direction.
The biasing member 85 is configured to be elastically deformable. The biasing member 85 is configured by being bent from the lower end of the portion inclined downward toward the front and from the lower end of the portion inclined downward toward the rear (by performing a bending process on a metal plate), so that a biasing force that biases the second wing member in a direction to close the second wing member is generated when the biasing member 85 abuts against the cam member 75. That is, the portion of the biasing member 85 that slopes downward toward the front from the upper end (abutment portion 86) and the portion that is bent from the lower end of the portion inclined downward toward the front and extends to slope downward toward the rear are configured as leaf springs.

As described above, since the biasing member 85 is formed by appropriately bending a plate-shaped member, it is easy to change (fine-tune) the inclination angle of the portion (contact portion 86) of the biasing member 85 that slopes downward from the upper end and the inclination angle of the portion that is bent from the lower end of the portion that slopes downward from the front and extends downward from the rear. Therefore, it is easy to adjust the state in which the rotational force that tries to close the second wing member due to the weight of the original pressing plate 3 (second connection object) fixed to the upper fixing member 30 (second wing member) and the rotational force that tries to open the second wing member due to the biasing force of the spring member 60 are roughly balanced.

The biasing member 85 is configured to be detachable from the partition member 80, and is provided in the lower fixed member 10 (first wing member) via the partition member 80. The biasing member 85 is provided in the lower fixed member 10 (first wing member) via the partition member 80 by a fixing device 89.
The head of the fastener 89 is configured as an operating portion 89a that is operated when the biasing member 85 is attached.

A pair of left and right through holes is provided in the part of the biasing member 85 that is bent from the lower end of the part that is inclined downward toward the rear and extends forward. A pair of left and right through holes is provided in the partition section 82 of the partition member 80. The part of the biasing member 85 that is bent from the lower end of the part that is inclined downward toward the rear and extends forward is placed above the partition section 82 of the partition member 80, and the through hole of the biasing member 85 and the through hole of the partition member 80 are inserted into the through hole of the biasing member 85 and the through hole of the partition member 80 in a state where the through hole of the biasing member 85 and the through hole of the partition member 80 are aligned. Then, the biasing member 85 is attached to the partition member 80 by operating the head (operation section 89a) of the fixing device 89 using a tool such as a screwdriver. The biasing member 85 is removed from the partition member 80 by operating the head (operation section 89a) of the fixing device 89 using a tool such as a screwdriver to remove the fixing device 89.

As described above, since the biasing member 85 is configured to be detachable, when it is necessary to adjust the state in which the rotational force attempting to close the second wing member due to the weight of the original pressure plate 3 (second connection object) fixed to the upper fixed member 30 (second wing member) and the rotational force attempting to open the second wing member due to the biasing force of the spring member 60 are maintained in a generally balanced state, this can be achieved by removing the biasing member 85 from the partition member 80, changing the inclination angle of the abutment portion 86 of the biasing member 85 and the inclination angle of the portion that is bent from the lower end of the portion that slopes downward at the front and extends to slope downward at the rear, and by replacing the biasing member 85 with one having the desired biasing force.
This makes it easy to perform adjustments to maintain a roughly balanced state between the rotational force attempting to close the second wing member due to the weight of the original pressure plate 3 (second connection object) fixed to the upper fixed member 30 (second wing member) and the rotational force attempting to open the second wing member due to the biasing force of the spring member 60.

In addition, the head of the screw (operating portion 89a of the fixing device 89), which is the fixing device 89 that attaches the urging member 85 to the partition member 80, is located below the partition portion 82 of the partition member 80 and is exposed downward at least when the second wing member is in the fully open state. Therefore, the second wing member can be fully opened and the work of attaching and detaching the urging member 85 to and from the partition member 80 can be easily performed without having to remove other members of the hinge 100. Therefore, it is easier to adjust the state in which the rotational force that tries to close the second wing member due to the weight of the original cover 3 (second connection object) fixed to the upper fixing member 30 (second wing member) and the rotational force that tries to open the second wing member due to the urging force of the spring member 60 are roughly balanced.

The portion of the urging member 85 that is bent from the front end of the forwardly extending portion and extends upward is configured as a protrusion 87 .
The partition member 80 includes a positioning portion 83. The positioning portion 83 of the partition member 80 is configured to protrude upward from the center of the left and right sides of the front end of the partition portion 82.
The portion of the urging member 85 that is bent from the lower end of the portion that slopes downward to the rear and extends forward is positioned above the partition portion 82 of the partition member 80, and when the front surface of the convex portion 87 of the urging member 85 is abutted against the rear surface of the positioning portion 83 of the partition member 80, the through hole of the urging member 85 and the through hole of the partition member 80 are aligned.
When attaching the urging member 85 to the partition member 80, by abutting the front surface of the convex portion 87 of the urging member 85 with the rear surface of the positioning portion 83 of the partition member 80 in this manner, it is possible to easily align the through hole of the urging member 85 with the through hole of the partition member 80.
Therefore, the work of attaching the biasing member 85 to the partition member 80 can be performed relatively easily.

The first slider 40 has a recessed portion 43. A part of the cam abutment portion 42 of the first slider 40 is formed in a concave shape. The part of the cam abutment portion 42 of the first slider 40 that is formed in a concave shape is configured as the recessed portion 43. The recessed portion 43 of the first slider 40 is formed in the middle between the front and rear of the upper surface of the cam abutment portion 42. The recessed portion 43 of the first slider 40 is configured in a stripe shape from the left end to the right end of the first slider 40.
Here, in the urging member 85, a portion (abutment portion 86) that slopes downward toward the front from the upper end and a portion that is bent from the lower end of the portion that slopes downward toward the front and extends so as to slope downward toward the rear are connected together, so that the portion is configured in a generally V-shape in side view. In the urging member 85, a boundary portion between the portion (abutment portion 86) that slopes downward toward the front from the upper end and the portion that is bent from the lower end of the portion that slopes downward toward the front and extends so as to slope downward toward the rear is configured such that its front (on the first slider 40 side) is mountain-shaped and configured to protrude forward, so as to be configured as a protrusion 88.
The recessed portion 43 of the first slider 40 is configured to generally match the shape of the front surface of the protruding portion 88 of the biasing member 85 .

When the rotation angle θ of the second wing member relative to the first wing member is a predetermined angle, i.e., when the rotation angle θ of the document cover 3 relative to the main body 2 of the multifunction device 1 is the predetermined angle, the protrusion 88 of the urging member 85 comes into contact with and enters the recess 43 of the first slider 40, and the rotational attitude of the second wing member relative to the first wing member is maintained. When the protrusion 88 of the urging member 85 enters the recess 43 of the first slider 40 and when the protrusion 88 of the urging member 85 falls out of the recess 43 of the first slider 40, a clicking sensation is generated.
For example, the rotation angle of the second wing member relative to the first wing member when the protrusion 88 of the biasing member 85 abuts against and enters the recess 43 of the first slider 40 is set to a rotation angle θ=90° (fully open state). Note that the rotation angle of the second wing member relative to the first wing member when the protrusion 88 of the biasing member 85 abuts against and enters the recess 43 of the first slider 40 can also be set to an angle other than 90°.

As described above, when the rotation angle θ of the second wing member relative to the first wing member is at a predetermined angle, the protrusion 88 of the biasing member 85 abuts and enters into the recess 43 of the first slider 40, and the rotational posture of the second wing member relative to the first wing member is maintained.
Therefore, when the rotation angle θ of the second wing member relative to the first wing member is at a predetermined angle, a simple configuration can be used to maintain the rotational posture of the second wing member relative to the first wing member regardless of the biasing forces of the spring member 60 and the biasing member 85.
Alternatively, the first slider 40 may have a protrusion that protrudes toward the biasing member 85 instead of the recess 43, and the biasing member 85 may have a recess instead of the protrusion 88 that roughly matches the shape of the outer surface of the protrusion of the first slider 40, so that when the rotation angle θ of the second wing member relative to the first wing member is a predetermined angle, the protrusion of the first slider 40 abuts against and fits into the recess of the biasing member 85, and the rotational posture of the second wing member relative to the first wing member is maintained.

5 to 14, the fence member 76 is disposed near the cam member 75 and below the cam abutment portion 42 of the cam member 75 and the first slider 40 (in front of the abutment portion of the cam member 75 and the first slider 40 when the second wing member is in the open state). The fence member 76 prevents foreign matter (e.g., a document, etc.) from entering the abutment portion side of the cam abutment portion 42 of the first slider 40 and the cam member 75 from the outside of the first slider 40 and the cam member 75 from the closed state to the fully open state of the intermediate member 20 (over the entire range of rotation of the intermediate member 20). The fence member 76 is configured to block the space with the outside by making the cam member 75 (the abutment portion of the cam abutment portion 42 of the first slider 40 and the cam member 75) invisible from the lower outside or the front outside, etc.
The fence member 76 is supported so as to be suspended (rotatable) from the first slider 40 (the cam contact portion 42). The fence member 76 is configured to be movable together with the pivoting movement of the intermediate member 20 or the moving movement of the first slider 40.

In this way, the fence member 76 is supported so as to hang from the first slider 40, and is positioned near the cam member 75 and below the cam member 75 and the cam abutment portion 42 of the first slider 40 (in front of the abutment portion between the cam member 75 and the first slider 40 when the second wing member is in the open state), and prevents foreign matter (such as a document) from entering the abutment portion between the cam abutment portion 42 of the first slider 40 and the cam member 75 from the outside of the first slider 40 and the cam member 75.Therefore, from the closed state to the open state of the second wing member, it is possible to reliably prevent, for example, a document placed on the upper surface of the main body 2 from entering the abutment portion between the cam abutment portion 42 of the first slider 40 and the cam member 75, and causing oil to adhere to the document.
In addition, the fence member 76 is configured to block the space between the outside and the contact portion between the cam abutment portion 42 of the first slider 40 and the cam member 75 so that it is not visible from the outside. This reduces the exposed portion of the member (such as the first slider 40) made of a resin material or the like, making the hinge 100 relatively flame-retardant.

The hinge 100 includes a cover member 77 .
The cover member 77 is a member that is formed by appropriately bending a single metal plate so as to have a front plate, a lower plate, and a pair of side plates, and is fixed to the second slider 50.
The cover member 77 is configured so that the inside of the second wing member is not exposed (not visible from the outside). The cover member 77 is configured to cover the front opening and the lower opening (the bottom side of the second wing member) of the intermediate member 20 so that the first slider 40, the second slider 50, the spring member 60, the damper 62, etc. are not exposed. The front plate of the cover member 77 is disposed in front of the first slider 40, and the pair of side plates of the cover member 77 are disposed on the left and right outer sides of the side plates 22, 22 of the intermediate member 20. The lower plate of the cover member 77 is disposed below the lower opening of the intermediate member 20, below the abutment portion between the cam abutment portion 42 of the first slider 40 and the cam member 75, and below the fence member 76.

In this way, the cover member 77 covers the lower opening of the intermediate member 20 so that the inside of the second wing member is not exposed, and this reduces the exposed portion of the members (such as the first slider 40) inside the hinge 100 that are made of a resin material or the like, making the hinge 100 relatively flame-retardant.

The shielding member 91 of the foreign object trap prevention unit 90 can also be made of a material that is relatively flame-retardant. By configuring it in this way, the hinge 100 can be made to be relatively flame-retardant.
