Description
This disclosure relates to technology for generating a travel path for a moving object.
Development is underway for small self-driving vehicles known as PMVs (Personal Mobility Vehicles) that can transport people or goods indoors or outdoors. The application of systems that apply general vehicle self-driving technology to PMVs and enable them to detect surrounding objects, avoid obstacles, and travel automatically is being considered.
When a PMV travels to a destination, a route from the current location to the destination is set in advance, and the PMV travels along that route. When a PMV travels through urban areas carrying people or objects, it travels on the sidewalks, just like an electric wheelchair. However, there may be narrow sidewalks that the PMV cannot pass through, or obstacles that block the sidewalk. In these cases, it may be necessary to manually move the PMV to a location where the PMV can pass and then reset the route.
Patent Document 1 describes a method for determining a movement route for a PMV. In this method, the site is divided into a mesh to define sections, and for each section, the degree of congestion of people or obstacles contained in that section is identified, and a route that passes through sections that are not congested is generated.
The technology described in Patent Literature 1 generates a route that passes through an area that is not congested, but does not take into consideration whether the generated route is physically passable by a PMV. Therefore, there is a risk that the route generated will include a section where the PMV cannot pass.
The present disclosure aims to enable a moving body, such as a PMV, to obtain a route that avoids areas that the moving body cannot pass through due to steps or the like that are not within the detection range of a sensor mounted on the moving body.
A route generation device according to the present disclosure includes:
an image acquisition unit that acquires image data of a road constituting a route from a position where a moving object is present to a destination, the image data being obtained by photographing an area including an area outside a detection range of a sensor mounted on the moving object;
a passability determination unit that determines whether the moving object can pass through the road based on the image data acquired by the image acquisition unit;
and a route notification unit that notifies the moving body of a route formed by roads that have been determined to be passable by the passability determination unit.
In the present disclosure, a determination is made as to whether or not a road is passable by a mobile body based on image data obtained by photographing an area including an area outside the detection range of a sensor mounted on the mobile body, and a route formed by roads that are determined to be passable is notified to the mobile body. Therefore, the mobile body can obtain a route that avoids places that the mobile body cannot pass due to steps or the like that are not within the detection range of the sensor.

(Step S16: Passage permission determination process)
The
Specifically, the
A specific example of the passability determination process will be described with reference to FIG. 5 and FIG.
Assume that an obstacle exists on the road as shown in FIG. 5. In FIG. 5, a fallen two-wheeled vehicle exists as the obstacle. In this case, the
For example, the
Another specific example of the passability determination process will be described with reference to FIG. 7 and FIG.

***Advantages of First Embodiment***
As described above, in the
<変形例1>
***Other configurations***

<変形例2>
