Description
The present invention relates to a wire drive device that serves as a power source for towing an object , and a robot hand .
Robot hands have been developed not only as industrial end effectors but also as humanoid robot hands and prosthetic hands. Humanoid hands and prosthetic hands must have the same capabilities as human hands. Additionally, it must be robust against external forces, lightweight, have high grip strength, and be able to mimic the natural actions of the human hand. Multi-fingered hand actuation systems are currently being developed.
In the hand drive unit, the method of pulling the wire with a motor has advantages over pneumatic or hydraulic actuation, such as being lightweight and compact, and easily installed in the robot hand. Since the tensile force T increases inversely with the pulley radius R (T = J/R, where J is the motor torque), R is designed to be as tight as possible to obtain high output with a small motor. However, the number of rotations required to actuate the phalanx increases inversely with the pulley radius. For a wire end fixed to a winding pulley, the pulley radius is increased by overlapping the wire while rotating the pulley. This increases the pulley radius, reduces the pulling force, and increases the operating speed. Additionally, the actuation system can only pull in one direction. Therefore, the hand uses elastic force to rotate the joint in the opposite direction. This force reduces the transmitted force due to actuation. To solve this problem, the hand developed by Seki et al. uses two wires (Non-Patent Document 1). In this method, a motor operates the phalanx to rotate the flexion or extension side without elastic material. However, this method cannot release excessive external force or impact force.
In other techniques, both ends of the wire are fixed to the phalanx of the robot, and a pulley winds the wire using frictional force, such as in an ultrasonic hand (Non-Patent Document 2). Since the winding mechanism uses frictional force, if the wire is pulled by an external force beyond the maximum static frictional force, slippage will occur between the wire and the pulley. This prevents damage to the actuation mechanism. However, the problem with this compliance actuation mechanism is that the wire slides around the pulley and is unable to transmit force to the robot's phalanx when wire slack occurs. In this way, the actuation of the ultrasonic hand links directly to the wire with the pull spring as a tensioner.
The dynamic characteristics of a mechanism driven by a wire are determined by the force, distance, and speed transmitted by the wire. When driving a joint such as a robot hand under a constant traction force, it is necessary to increase the moment arm in order to increase the joint driving force, but increasing the moment arm increases the wire driving distance. . Generally, the drive mechanism occupies a small volume in the entire robot hand, so it is difficult to house a winding drum that winds up a large amount of wire in the robot hand.
The present invention proposes a new method to solve the problems of wire-driven robot hands. First, a new mechanism is used that uses drum pressure instead of elastic force to prevent the wire from sagging. We also analyze the static model of the mechanism and introduce the maximum tensile force of the wire at the moment of slippage. Finally, the proposed mechanism is installed inside a conventional two-DOF hand as actuation of wrist flexion to confirm the effectiveness of the mechanism.

By using the present invention, it is possible to reduce the diameter of the hoisting drum and increase the traction force, thereby making it possible to improve the performance and reduce the weight of the robot hand, thereby greatly increasing its commercial value. Furthermore, by using a multi-stage pulley shape for the pressing drum and determining the position of the drum-shaped wire, it becomes possible to continue pulling the wire at the same position regardless of the rotation speed of the hoisting drum. Furthermore, regarding the pressing force between the pressing drum and the winding drum, by winding the winding drum with more wire than the number of turns of wire derived from friction theory, it is possible to sufficiently reduce the pressing force, reducing drive energy loss. This makes it possible to reduce the
A.材料:
A. Materials:
The wire winding mechanism of the present invention shown in FIG. 1 does not fix the wire to the pulley. Instead, the wire is wrapped around a pulley and pressed against it by a grooved drum. The drum serves to guide the wire to the pulley. Additionally, drum pressure increases the frictional force between the wire and the pulley.
B. Analysis of static model:
Since the wire winding mechanism of the present invention uses the frictional force between the wire and the pulley to transmit the power of the actuator, it is necessary to calculate the pulling force on the end of the wire at the moment of slippage T m . If T m is smaller than the pulley winding force, the pulley cannot pull the wire due to slippage.
Figure 2 shows the static physical model. The wire is wrapped around a fixed cylinder in the n-sphere and pressed against the cylinder with a drum pressure N D. The holding force at the end of the wire is T h . When the wire goes around a fixed cylinder, the maximum static friction force at one end is calculated by Euler's belt equation [14,15]. T m is determined from the tension of the wound wire and the static friction force caused by the contact angle segment. Drum pressure creates more static friction forces. As shown in FIG. 2, the wire tensions are T 1 , T 2 . . . .
First, the maximum static friction force T 1 between the left end of the wire and the first contact point is given by Euler's belt equation and drum pressure.
C. Static model of take-up pulley:
Consider the maximum static friction force caused by the tension in the wire segment when the pulley is rotating. To facilitate analysis, the static model of friction forces excludes the drum. Figure 3 shows the model. The wire segment is wrapped around a pulley, which rotates with an angular velocity ω. Since the pulley forces are balanced, the reaction force N at a small angle dθ is (T h -mv 2 )dθ. If the mass per unit length is m and the speed is v, the force balance on the pulley surface is dT = F. Since the frictional force F is equal to μN, the differential equation can be solved by integrating from 0 to the maximum contact angle (2(n-1)π+θ 1 +θ 2 ).
When the wire is pulled above T m by an external force or impact, the wire slides around the pulley. Therefore, this method can be used to design torque limits.
Next, we will explain the development of a wire winding mechanism for wrist palmar flexion and dorsiflexion.
A.材料:
A. Materials:
Conventional wrist palmar flexion and dorsiflexion were designed to confirm movement with a wire winding mechanism. First, the target wrist flexion torque is 500N・mm. Other parameters are then determined by equation (5) and mechanical constraints. Since the pulley shaft is pulled very strongly by the tight and relaxed tension, the pulley is subjected to high torsional stresses. Therefore, stainless steel was used as the pulley material. The μ between the wire and the pulley was measured using a TYPE: 94i-II portable tribometer. PE wire was selected for the wire drive mechanism due to its ease of winding and high strength. The wire was passed through the center of the hollow bolt and tied at the top. By controlling the height of the bolt, a holding tension can be applied to the wire. Since the extensibility of the wire makes the movement of the joint unstable, it is necessary to provide a holding force.
B. Configuration of wire winding mechanism:
Traditional hands were made of ABS plastic. The gripping motion was actuated by direct drive using a 2BBMG servo motor. The palm was reconfigured for a wire winding mechanism. There wasn't enough space for the mechanism under the servo motor, so additional space was provided on the opposite side of the thumb to maintain the original shape of the hand.
Figure 4 shows part of the palm body. We used a Pololu gear motor with a torque of 340N·mm. The pulley radius is 2.5mm, and the wrist radius is 3.6mm, calculated by the formula below.
C. Mechanism function confirmation:
To confirm whether the mechanism of the present invention could actuate the robot's phalanges, we activated the percussion control. The power supply voltage is 6V and the current consumption is 0.15A. As a result, the actuation system can bend the wrist. Bending is completed in 1.3 seconds. The results state that this method prevents wire overlap around the pulley. Since there is a small space inside the actuating unit, when an overlap occurs, the pulley radius increases and the wire contacts the cage. As a result, the pulley stops rotating due to friction between the wire and the cage. On the other hand, when overlap occurs, it also prevents the wire from loosening in other directions.
Additionally, another test was conducted. When the wrist is fully bent, it rotates backwards. The results showed that the wire slipped around the pulley beyond the maximum static friction force, causing the wrist to passively bend. This result shows that the proposed mechanism functions as a torque limiter as originally expected. Therefore, the proposed mechanism has compliance to external forces.
A simple experiment was conducted to confirm the functionality of the wire winding operation of the present invention. How much weight can your wrist hold? The pinch force of the hand when power is supplied to the two servo motors connected to the fingers is known as 6N. Therefore, the weight of the grasped object is limited to less than 500g. This test was conducted under the condition that the subjects had already grasped an object with their hands. At first, he was able to hold a pose with his palms up, weighing 200g.
The results are as follows:
Upward: Weight 30g
Pronation and supination: weight 500g
The wrist cannot bend while grasping a weight of 30g or more. The pinch force in your hands is sufficient to grasp these weights, so you can grip the object tightly and not tremble. I confirmed that the wires are not slipping around the pulley, but the DC motor cannot rotate. Therefore, we believe that the power supply for the DC motor is insufficient to rotate it. Also, energy loss is not taken into consideration in the operating unit. There is energy loss due to bearings and friction between the wire and the hand.
The 3-degree-of-freedom hand can pronate and supinate the wrist while grasping a 500g weight. Since the direction of bending is also the ground, there is almost no reaction force against wrist movement compared to the upward test. The hands can maintain posture while grasping a weight of 200g. In this experiment, we will use elastomer gloves to firmly grasp objects. The weight of the hand is 437g. The distance from the wrist rotation center to the center of gravity is 97mm. The counter torque is approximately 416N・mm. In this experiment, the wrist was designed so that it could maintain its posture up to an external torque of 500 N·mm, but the wrist rotation required was approximately 416 N·mm. It is thought that the measurement error of the static friction coefficient μ is high or that the coefficient becomes low because the wire surface is worn.
This mechanism consists of a pulley and a pressure drum. This mechanism uses only frictional forces to wind the wire. Furthermore, the pressure of the pressure drum is used as a tensioner. No elastic force is required on the tensioner to return to position on the robot link, improving response time and force transfer compared to traditional heavy-duty wire drive mechanisms. The maximum tensile force increases exponentially with the number of turns of the wire around the pulley and increases proportionally with the holding force in the wire and drum pressure. Torque limiters can be designed from the maximum tensile force. However, the torque limit must be greater than or equal to the actuator torque. This mechanism was added to the conventional hand to actuate palmar flexion and dorsiflexion of the wrist. Experimental results of the improved conventional hand confirmed that this mechanism can actuate wrist bending and function as a torque limiter.
We will conduct evaluation experiments on the driving force of this mechanism and confirm the consistency of the proposed mathematical model. Next, a method of optimizing each parameter for the desired driving force is considered. In the future, a wire-underactuated hand will be designed using this mechanism, and the mechanical performance of the prosthetic hand will be evaluated.

Since the winding end portion 82 of the

Furthermore, when the
The traction force of the
As described above, in the
The
The
The
The
The winding
The distance between the first rotation axis O1 and the second rotation axis O2 is variable. Thereby, even if the diameter of the
