The present invention will be explained in detail below. In this specification, descriptions using "~" for numerical ranges include the lower limit and upper limit unless otherwise specified. For example, the description "10 to 20" includes both the lower limit value of "10" and the upper limit value of "20". That is, "10 to 20" has the same meaning as "10 or more and 20 or less".

The

The

A voltage is applied between the application electrode 11 and the ground electrode 13 by a power source 15 (high voltage power source). The voltage applied by the
The current value during discharge is determined by the applied voltage, the distance between the electrodes, and the electrode size.

Note that the pressure between the application electrode 11 and the ground electrode 13 is preferably close to atmospheric pressure (1013 hPa) (950 hPa or more and 1030 hPa or less) from the viewpoint of the cost of the

In this way, when the
Note that the plasma active species include radicals such as O, N, OH, and O3 , ions, and excited species. Radicals, ions, excited species, etc. such as O, N, and OH have short lives and mainly contribute to gas decomposition within the plasma generation unit, while O 3 and HO 2 have relatively long lives, so they are It is converted into oxygen (O) radicals and contributes to gas decomposition.
The type of
The form of the base material is not particularly limited. It may be pleated, plate-like, sheet-like, or the like. The pleated shape increases the surface area and reduces pressure loss.
The photocatalyst is not particularly limited, and a wide variety of known photocatalysts can be used. For example, ultraviolet light-responsive photocatalysts include titanium oxide (TiO 2 ), zinc oxide (ZnO), tungsten oxide (WO 3 ), strontium titanate (SrTiO 3 ), iron oxide (Fe 2 O 3 ), and visible light-responsive photocatalysts. As the photocatalyst, nitrogen-doped titanium oxide, sulfur-doped titanium oxide, copper-supported titanium oxide, copper-supported tungsten oxide, etc. are applicable. Note that as the titanium oxide, it is desirable to use fine particles of anatase or rutile crystals.
As examples of the
光源9は、例えば、LED(Light Emitting Diode)、ブラックライト、蛍光灯が好適に使用される。

In this embodiment, since the photocatalyst is irradiated with light, excited electrons and holes are generated inside the photocatalyst, which diffuse to the photocatalyst surface, and the holes react with oxygen or water in the air.

(2) Experimental results Figure 10 shows a graph of the experimental results. This graph shows a comparison of the amount of decomposition in Experimental Example 1 in which atmospheric pressure plasma and photocatalyst were applied simultaneously, Experimental Example 2 in which only atmospheric pressure plasma was applied, and Experimental Example 3 in which only photocatalyst was applied. It can be seen that in all of Experimental Examples 1 to 3, acetaldehyde gas is decomposed over time.
In the graph, "Reference Example 1 (sum of plasma and UV)" indicates the amount of decomposition in Experimental Example 2 (when only atmospheric pressure plasma is applied) and the amount of decomposition in Experimental Example 3 (when only photocatalyst is applied). It simply shows the total amount of decomposition. Note that the initial concentration of acetaldehyde gas (40 ppm) in Experimental Example 1 is twice the initial concentration (20 ppm) in Experimental Examples 2 and 3.
It can be seen that the decomposition rate of Experimental Example 1 is much faster than that of Experimental Examples 2 and 3.
Furthermore, looking at the graph, Experimental Example 1 has a larger initial slope than Reference Example 1 (sum of plasma and UV). Therefore, it can be seen that Experimental Example 1 has a faster decomposition rate than Reference Example 1. In other words, when atmospheric pressure plasma is generated by the

3. Comparative Study of
From FIG. 10, it can be seen that the decomposition amount of Experimental Example 1 is 15% higher than that of Reference Example 1, when the decomposition amount of Reference Example 1 is taken as 100% at the time of 20 minutes. This increase is due to the synergistic effect of atmospheric pressure plasma and photocatalyst.
From FIG. 11, it can be seen that when the decomposition amount of Reference Example 2 is taken as 100% at the time of 20 minutes, the decomposition amount of Experimental Example 4 is 64% higher than that of Reference Example 2. This increase is due to the synergistic effect of atmospheric pressure plasma and photocatalyst.
From the above study, it can be seen that the synergistic effect of the atmospheric pressure plasma and the photocatalyst appears more in the decomposition experiment 2 using visible light in FIG. 11.
