Description
本発明者らは、カンキツグリーニング病原細菌であるリベリバクター属細菌のゲノムに保存されている遺伝子について鋭意検討した。その結果、リベリバクター属細菌が図1に示すメバロン酸経路を有していることを見出した。本経路は、植物や糸状菌に存在することが知られており、またこれまでにいくつかの細菌で発見されているものの、植物病原細菌において本経路を有するものは知られていない。本発明者らは、リベリバクター属細菌が上記メバロン酸経路を有しているならば、本経路の代謝を制御することにより当該の病原細菌の増殖を制御することができると推測した。そして、リベリバクター属細菌の増殖を制御することができれば、リベリバクター属細菌が引き起こす植物病害であるカンキツグリーニング病、ジャガイモゼブラチップ病およびニンジンLso病等を抑制することが可能となると考えた。
メバロン酸経路の代謝を阻害する物質(メバロン酸経路阻害剤)について、カンキツグリーニング病原細菌(リベリバクター属細菌)の増殖に対する効果を調べた。メバロン酸経路阻害剤には、スタチン系化合物(ロバスタチンおよびプラバスタチン)およびビスフォスフォネート系化合物(アレンドロネート、イバンドロネートおよびリセドロネート)を用いた。スタチン系化合物は、メバロン酸経路の中間代謝産物であるメバロン酸産生に関与するHMG-CoA還元酵素の阻害物質である。ビスフォスフォネート系化合物は、ゲラニル二リン酸(Geranyl-PP)産生およびファルネシル二リン酸(Farnesyl-PP)産生の両生合成に関与するファルネシル二リン酸シンターゼ(Farnesyl-PP合成酵素)の阻害物質である。以下の方法により、スタチン系化合物またはビスフォスフォネート系化合物をカンキツグリーニング病原細菌の選択培地に添加し、カンキツグリーニング病原細菌の培養を行った。
メバロン酸経路の代謝を促進する物質(メバロン酸経路促進剤)について、カンキツグリーニング病原細菌(リベリバクター属細菌)の増殖に対する効果を調べた。メバロン酸経路促進剤には、中間代謝産物であるメバロン酸および最終産物の一種であるアブシジン酸を用いた。以下の方法により、メバロン酸およびアブシジン酸をカンキツグリーニング病原細菌の選択培地に添加し、カンキツグリーニング病原細菌の培養を行った。

- メバロン酸経路の代謝を阻害する作用を有するメバロン酸経路阻害剤またはメバロン酸経路の代謝を促進する作用を有するメバロン酸経路促進剤のいずれかを有効成分として含有する、リベリバクター属細菌の増殖制御剤であって、
前記メバロン酸経路阻害剤が、スタチン系化合物およびビスフォスフォネート系化合物からなる群より選択される少なくとも1つであり、
前記メバロン酸経路促進剤が、メバロン酸およびアブシジン酸からなる群より選択される少なくとも1つである、リベリバクター属細菌の増殖制御剤。 - 前記メバロン酸経路阻害剤が、ロバスタチン、プラバスタチン、アレンドロネート、イバンドロネートおよびリセドロネートからなる群より選択される少なくとも1つである、請求項1に記載の増殖制御剤。
- リベリバクター属細菌をメバロン酸経路の代謝を阻害する作用を有するメバロン酸経路阻害剤またはメバロン酸経路の代謝を促進する作用を有するメバロン酸経路促進剤で処理することを含む、リベリバクター属細菌の増殖を制御する方法であって、
前記メバロン酸経路阻害剤が、スタチン系化合物およびビスフォスフォネート系化合物からなる群より選択される少なくとも1つであり、
前記メバロン酸経路促進剤が、メバロン酸およびアブシジン酸からなる群より選択される少なくとも1つである、リベリバクター属細菌の増殖を制御する方法。 - 前記メバロン酸経路阻害剤が、ロバスタチン、プラバスタチン、アレンドロネート、イバンドロネートおよびリセドロネートからなる群より選択される少なくとも1つである、請求項3に記載のリベリバクター属細菌の増殖を制御する方法。
