Description
Claims (2)
- 所定の気筒列方向に沿って並んで配置される複数の気筒を有するシリンダブロックと、前記シリンダブロックの上部に連結されるシリンダヘッドと、
前記シリンダヘッドに設けられた排気出口と、
前記排気出口に連結されて下方に延びる円筒状の触媒ケースと、
前記シリンダブロックの前記排気出口が設けられた側の側面に取付けられるウォータポンプと、を備えるエンジンの冷却装置であって、
前記ウォータポンプは、冷却水が流入する冷却水流入部材を有し、
前記冷却水流入部材は、前記気筒列方向で前記ウォータポンプと前記触媒ケースとの間に、前記気筒列方向で前記触媒ケースの周壁と対向する壁部を有し、
前記壁部は、前記触媒ケースの前記周壁が前記気筒列方向で前記冷却水流入部材に最も近づく部位の近傍まで、前記側面から突出しており、
ラジエータを迂回する冷却水が常時流通する冷却水戻し通路を有し、
前記冷却水戻し通路は、前記側面と当該側面に取付けられるカバー部材とによって形成され、
前記カバー部材は、前記側面と前記触媒ケースとの間の隙間に延在しており、前記周壁に沿う曲面を形成する曲面部形成部を前記触媒ケースの近傍に有することを特徴とするエンジンの冷却装置。 - 前記冷却水戻し通路の上流端部は、冷却水を受け入れる冷却水受入口を有し、
前記カバー部材と前記触媒ケースとの間の隙間は、前記冷却水戻し通路の上流端部において最も狭くなっており、
前記冷却水流入部材は、前記触媒ケースに対して前記冷却水受入口とは反対側に配置されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のエンジンの冷却装置。
