Description
The present invention relates to an exhaust purification system for purifying exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine.
A selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalyst is known as one of representative NOx purification catalysts used for purification of nitrogen oxides (NOx) and the like contained in exhaust gas from internal combustion engines. Ammonia (NH3) or the like is supplied to the SCR catalyst as a reducing agent for purifying NOx. Patent Literature 1 discloses an exhaust purification device in which two catalyst layers having SCR catalysts with different ammonia adsorption capabilities are connected in parallel and arranged in an exhaust passage. In this exhaust purification device, in order to suppress ammonia from flowing out to the downstream side of the SCR catalyst, the amount of exhaust gas flowing into the two catalyst layers is adjusted according to the temperature of the exhaust gas.
In order to promote the catalytic reaction of the NOx purification reaction in the SCR catalyst, it is required to secure an adsorption amount of ammonia supplied as a reducing agent to the SCR catalyst. As the temperature of the SCR catalyst increases, the amount of ammonia adsorbed on the SCR catalyst decreases. Therefore, if the internal combustion engine is stopped after the temperature of the SCR catalyst has risen due to the operation of the internal combustion engine, and the supply of the reducing agent is stopped before the temperature of the SCR catalyst has sufficiently decreased, the temperature of the SCR catalyst will decrease while the amount of ammonia adsorbed in the SCR catalyst remains low. When the internal combustion engine is cold-started at the next startup after the internal combustion engine has been stopped, the internal combustion engine starts operating in a state where the catalyst temperature of the SCR catalyst is low and the amount of ammonia adsorbed is low. Therefore, it is difficult to increase the reaction rate of the NOx reduction reaction, and there is concern that the NOx purification rate cannot be sufficiently increased.
In view of the above, it is an object of the present invention to provide a technique for suppressing a reduction in the NOx purification rate due to an insufficient amount of NH3 adsorbed when an internal combustion engine is started.
The present invention provides an exhaust purification system for purifying predetermined components in exhaust from an internal combustion engine. This exhaust purification system includes a selective reduction catalyst layer that is installed in an exhaust pipe of the internal combustion engine and includes a selective reduction catalyst that purifies nitrogen oxides in the exhaust through a reduction reaction using ammonia as a reducing agent; a purification catalyst layer that is installed downstream of the selective reduction catalyst layer in the exhaust pipe and includes a purification catalyst that purifies nitrogen oxides in the exhaust; a reducing agent supply device that supplies an ammonia source to the selective reduction catalyst layer; A flow rate adjusting mechanism that adjusts the amount of catalyst-side exhaust gas that flows into the selective reduction catalyst layer by allowing it to pass therethrough, and a control device. The control device includes an exhaust amount control unit that controls the flow rate adjustment mechanism to reduce the catalyst-side exhaust amount when the temperature information of the selective reduction catalyst layer indicates that the temperature of the selective reduction catalyst layer is higher than a predetermined temperature threshold, and a reducing agent control unit that controls the reducing agent supply device to supply an ammonia source to the selective reduction catalyst layer when the exhaust amount control unit executes control to reduce the catalyst-side exhaust amount.
According to the exhaust gas purification system of the present invention, the control device reduces the catalyst-side exhaust gas amount by the exhaust gas amount control unit when the temperature information of the selective reduction catalyst layer (hereinafter sometimes referred to as the SCR catalyst layer in this specification) indicates that the temperature of the SCR catalyst layer is higher than a predetermined temperature threshold. Therefore, the heat quantity of exhaust gas is reduced, and the temperature of the SCR catalyst layer can be controlled to a low temperature suitable for adsorption of ammonia. Furthermore, the exhaust amount control unit controls the flow rate adjustment mechanism to bypass the SCR layer and pass through the purification catalyst layer, thereby reducing the catalyst side exhaust amount. Therefore, the exhaust that has bypassed the SCR layer is also purified by the purification catalyst layer, and a decrease in the NOx purification rate of the exhaust emitted from the exhaust purification system can be suppressed. Further, when the exhaust amount control unit executes the control to reduce the exhaust amount on the catalyst side, the reducing agent control unit controls the reducing agent supply device so as to supply the ammonia source to the SCR catalyst layer. Therefore, the ammonia source can be supplied while the temperature of the SCR catalyst layer is controlled to a low temperature suitable for ammonia adsorption. As a result, the supplied ammonia source can be controlled so as to reliably contribute to an increase in the amount of ammonia adsorbed in the SCR catalyst layer. That is, according to the exhaust purification system described above, even when the temperature of the exhaust gas is high, such as during operation of the internal combustion engine, it is possible to control the temperature of the SCR catalyst layer arranged on the upstream side to a low temperature while suppressing a decrease in the NOx purification rate throughout the entire exhaust purification system, thereby ensuring the adsorption amount of ammonia in the SCR catalyst layer. Therefore, during operation of the internal combustion engine, ammonia can be sufficiently adsorbed on the SCR catalyst layer in preparation for the next start-up of the internal combustion engine. As a result, when the internal combustion engine is started next time, the exhaust gas purification system can be started in a state where the ammonia adsorption amount in the SCR catalyst layer is ensured, and a decrease in the NOx purification rate due to the shortage of the ammonia adsorption amount in the SCR catalyst can be suppressed. In particular, even when it is difficult to increase the reaction rate of the NOx reduction reaction by raising the temperature of each catalyst layer, such as during cold start, the reaction rate of the NOx reduction reaction can be increased by securing the amount of ammonia adsorbed.

In the
The
The
The
The
As the SCR catalyst, for example, a catalyst containing a carrier such as a metal oxide or ceramics and active species of a noble metal or a base metal is known. More specifically, as a specific example of the SCR catalyst using NH3 as a reducing agent, a zeolite catalyst such as ZSM5 containing copper (Cu), iron (Fe) or the like as cationic species can be exemplified.
The

As the DOC, for example, a catalyst containing a carrier such as a metal oxide and active species of a noble metal or a base metal is used. Typical examples of DOC include catalysts in which noble metal catalysts such as Pt and Pd are supported on alumina or zeolite. When arranged in the
A DPF is a particulate filter with a catalyst that cleans particulate matter in the exhaust. As the DPF, for example, a catalyst containing a carrier such as a metal oxide and active species of a noble metal or a base metal is used. A representative example of the DPF is a catalyst in which a noble metal catalyst such as Pt or Pd is supported on a carrier having a honeycomb structure made of cordierite or SiC. The DPF filters and collects particulate matter (PM) in the exhaust. In this embodiment, as shown in FIG. 1, the case where the
The
LNT触媒の別称としては、NSR(NOx Strage Reduction)触媒、NAC(NOx Absorption Catalyst)、DPNR(Diesel Particulate-NOx Reduction)触媒等を挙げることができる。

The bypass-side exhaust gas amount B is preferably set based on, for example, the difference between the current temperature T1 of the
When the temperature information of the
By reducing the catalyst side exhaust amount V during operation of the

During normal operation of the

The reducing agent control unit 57 controls the supply amount, supply timing, and the like of the ammonia source supplied from the
The reducing agent control unit 57 may be configured to control the supply amount and supply timing of the ammonia source supplied from the
For example, when the activation states of the
Note that the activation temperature TA is a temperature at which the NOx purification capacity of the NOx purification catalyst (an index where the maximum purification capacity of the catalyst is 100%) has a high probability (for example, about 90%). In NOx purification catalysts such as SCR catalysts and LNT catalysts, when the catalyst temperature rises from a low temperature region where there is almost no catalytic activity, the catalytic activity rises significantly and reaches a high probability. In the high temperature range after the catalyst temperature reaches the activation temperature TA, the catalyst activity becomes substantially constant. For example, the catalyst temperature at which a significant increase in catalyst activity is completed can be used as the activation temperature TA.
Further, the reducing agent control unit 57 may be configured to supply an ammonia source in order to increase the adsorption amount of NH 3 in the

In step S102, it is determined whether the temperature T1 is equal to or higher than a predetermined temperature threshold value X1. Assuming that the temperature at which the saturated adsorption amount in the

In step S106, the target adsorption amount At is calculated based on the temperature T2 and the bypass-side exhaust amount B. As shown in FIG. Through experiments or the like, the relationships between the maximum adsorption amount Amax, which is the maximum value of NH3 that can be adsorbed by the SCR catalyst layer, and parameters such as the flow rate and flow rate of the exhaust gas flowing through the SCR catalyst layer, the NH3 concentration in the exhaust gas, and the catalyst temperature of the SCR catalyst layer are obtained and stored in the
In step S<b>107 , the reducing agent supply device is controlled to supply urea water as an ammonia source from the
In step S108, the estimated adsorption amount Ae, which is the adsorption amount of NH3 currently adsorbed on the
In step S109, it is determined whether or not the estimated adsorption amount Ae is greater than or equal to the target adsorption amount At. If Ae≧At, the process proceeds to step S110, stops the supply of the urea water, and ends the process. If Ae<At, the process ends without stopping the supply of the aqueous urea solution. In step S109, if Ae<At, the reducing agent supply device may be controlled to increase the amount of urea water supplied.
As described above, according to the
Further, the
In addition, since the urea water is supplied while the temperature of the
Further, in step S103, the
(Modification)
In the
In addition, in the
According to each of the above embodiments, the following effects can be obtained.
The
The
The

Further, the
The exhaust
When the temperature information of the
