Description
TECHNICAL FIELD The present invention relates to a method for repairing a bearing ring whose raceway surface has been damaged such as by wear or flaking.
Rotating shafts of rotating machines such as machine tools and industrial machines are supported by rolling bearings against portions that do not rotate during use, such as housings. A rolling bearing includes a pair of bearing rings that have raceway surfaces on surfaces facing each other over the entire circumference and are arranged coaxially with each other, and a plurality of rolling elements that are rollably arranged between the raceway surfaces of the pair of bearing rings. Specifically, such rolling bearings include radial rolling bearings for mainly supporting loads in the radial direction and thrust rolling bearings for mainly supporting loads in the axial direction.
A radial rolling bearing includes an inner ring having an inner ring raceway on its outer peripheral surface, an outer ring having an outer ring raceway on its inner peripheral surface and arranged coaxially with the inner ring on the radially outer side of the inner ring, and a plurality of rolling elements arranged to be free to roll between the inner ring raceway and the outer ring raceway.
A thrust rolling bearing includes a pair of bearing rings which have raceway surfaces over the entire circumference on side surfaces facing each other in the axial direction and which are arranged coaxially with each other, and a plurality of rolling elements which are arranged so as to be free to roll between the raceway surfaces of the pair of bearing rings.
Regardless of whether a rolling bearing is a radial rolling bearing or a thrust rolling bearing, if it is used for a long period of time under a load, the raceway surface may wear, or metal fatigue may occur, causing the raceway surface to flake off. When damage such as wear and flaking occurs on the raceway surface, it is conceivable to replace the bearing ring or the entire rolling bearing including the bearing ring.
However, from the standpoint of reducing the operating costs of rotating machinery, it is desirable to continue using the bearing ring after repairing the raceway surface where damage such as wear and flaking has occurred, rather than replacing the bearing ring or rolling bearing. In particular, such a demand is great for large bearings such as roll neck bearings for steel rolling mills. As roll neck bearings, for example, large tapered roller bearings and cylindrical roller bearings are used.
Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2003-21147 (Patent Document 1) describes a method of remanufacturing a rolling bearing by providing a machining allowance in advance on the surface layer of the raceway surface of a bearing ring, and removing the machining allowance when the raceway surface is damaged. However, in the method described in JP-A-2003-21147, when damage deeper than the thickness of the machining allowance occurs, the damage cannot be repaired or removed, or the internal clearance of the rolling bearing increases as the machining allowance is removed.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION In view of the circumstances described above, it is an object of the present invention to provide a method for repairing a raceway ring that can repair a raceway surface damaged by wear, peeling, or the like without providing a machining allowance in advance on the surface layer of the raceway surface of the raceway ring.

According to the bearing ring repairing method of the present invention as described above, it is possible to repair a raceway surface damaged by abrasion, peeling, or the like without previously providing a machining allowance on the surface layer of the raceway surface of the bearing ring.
An example of an embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to FIGS. 1 to 5. FIG. In this example, as shown in FIG. 1, a case where the

The
In this example, the
The
The build-up
The mixed
The
Regarding the layer structure, the “lower side” refers to the
The re-quenched
The
The
In this example, the Vickers hardness (Hv) of the
In this example, the
Further, in this example, the arithmetic mean roughness (Ra) of the
<How to repair the inner ring>
The tapered
The method of degreasing and cleaning the portion of the surface of the original
Next, laser cladding is used to form a built-up
In order to perform laser cladding, when the
Further, the portion located immediately below the
When the laser cladding is used to form the build-up
The
The
It is preferable to preheat the original
When forming the build-up
After the build-up
The repaired
In the repair method of this example, when the original
In this example, since the
Laser cladding is used to form the
According to the repair method of this example, since the tapered
In the repair method of this example, since the build-up
Although the case of repairing the inner ring of a tapered roller bearing has been described in this example, the bearing ring repairing method of the present invention can be applied to bearing rings constituting various rolling bearings. That is, the method for repairing a bearing ring of the present invention can be applied to the outer ring of a tapered roller bearing, the inner ring and/or outer ring of a radial roller bearing using cylindrical rollers (including needles) as rolling elements, the inner ring and/or outer ring of a radial ball bearing using balls, or the inner ring and/or outer ring of a radial self-aligning roller bearing using spherical rollers.
The bearing ring repair method of the present invention can be applied to one or both of a pair of bearing rings 21a and 21b of a
Furthermore, the bearing ring repair method of the present invention can be applied to bearing rings of multi-row rolling bearings having two or more raceway surfaces, regardless of whether they are inner or outer rings of radial rolling bearings or bearing rings of thrust rolling bearings.

The rolling fatigue life was measured for the above-described practical products. Specifically, the product was operated under the conditions shown below.
<Operating Conditions of
Lubricating oil: Mineral oil equivalent to ISO-VG68 (oil bath method)
Test load: 5.39 (kN) (maximum surface pressure: 3.0 (GPa))
Rotation speed: 1000 (rpm)
L=(C/P)3 ・・・(1)
