Description
The present invention relates to an RF tag with heat resistance.
例えば、自動車の製造工場においては、塗装ラインでのトラッキング手段としてRFID(Radio Frequency Identification)のニーズが高まっている。
For example, in automobile manufacturing plants, there is an increasing need for RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) as a tracking means in painting lines.
The drying temperature of the drying furnace installed in the coating line is high (e.g., 150°C or higher), and in order to deal with this, the use of heat-resistant RF tags with a cover made of resin or the like is being considered. (See
However, even with the use of conventional heat-resistant RF tags, stable tracking could not be achieved.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION It is an object of the present invention to provide a heat-resistant RF tag capable of realizing stable tracking with a simple structure.
The present inventors investigated the reason why stable tracking could not be achieved using commercially available heat-resistant RF tags.
First, an RF tag is heat-treated in a heating furnace, then taken out, and the result of examining the transition of the surface temperature will be described with reference to FIG. In the RF tag, the entire inlay in which the IC chip and antenna are arranged on the base material is covered with a heat-resistant cover (consisting of resin (PEEK (polyetheretherketone), heat-resistant nylon, etc.)). (the inlay is sealed with a cover), and here, RF tags with three types of heat resistance specifications (175° C.: ♦, 250° C.: ▪, 300° C.: ▴) were used.
As shown in FIG. 6, it was found that the higher the temperature of the heat-resistant specification, the longer it takes for the surface temperature of the RF tag (cover covering the surroundings) to drop (fall). That is, in the heat-resistant RF tag, the inside of the cover (in the vicinity of the IC chip) is difficult to heat, but it tends to be difficult to cool down when heated.
Next, see FIG. 7 for the results of measuring the time required for the RF tag to return to operation (be able to operate as a semiconductor) after inserting (heating) the RF tag into the heating furnace and removing it multiple times. I will explain while Note that the heat treatment was performed at 250° C.×1 Hr. In addition, the entire inlay of the RF tag is covered with the cover described above, and here, three types of RF tags (○, Δ, ●) with a heat resistance specification of 300° C. were used.
As shown in FIG. 7, it was found that it took about 10 minutes to restore the operation when the RF tag was heated up to two times. It should be noted that when the RF tag is heated three times or more (especially four or five times), the time required for operation recovery is short. It is presumed that the thermal expansion of the gas mixed in the RF tag damaged a part of the cover to form an opening, and the inside of the RF tag was cooled by the formed opening.
Therefore, the inventors of the present invention adopted a structure in which the RF tag is exposed to the outside air, instead of the conventional structure in which the entire inlay is covered with a cover. We came up with the idea of shortening the time required for
Note that the IC chip of the RF tag can operate as a semiconductor because it has a constant conductivity up to a temperature of about 150 ° C., but when it exceeds 150 ° C., the conductivity decreases and it becomes a mere resistor. There is Therefore, even if the RF tag is heated, the temperature of the IC chip must be kept at 150° C. or less.
The present invention was made based on the above findings, and the gist thereof is as follows.
A heat-resistant RF tag according to the present invention that meets the above object is a heat-resistant RF tag having an inlay in which an IC chip and an antenna are arranged on a heat-resistant sheet-like base material,
The inlay is placed in a heat-resistant resin container having a space formed therein, and the container is formed with a vent for exposing the inlay to the outside air ,
The container is formed in a cylindrical shape and has a cylindrical portion and lid portions fitted and fixed to both sides of the cylindrical portion in the axial direction. The inlay is arranged so that the longitudinal direction of
For the antenna of the inlay, wires projecting along the longitudinal direction on both sides of the heat-resistant sheet-like base material are used, and the tip sides of the wires are spirally wound and face each other. By compressing the wire with the lid portion, the heat-resistant sheet-like substrate is positioned within the container without the heat-resistant sheet-like substrate coming into contact with the container.
In this way, since the inlay is arranged in the space inside the container, the contact surface between the container and the inlay can be reduced, and the heat transfer from the container to the inlay can be reduced. Furthermore, since the container is formed with a vent for exposing the inlay to the outside air, the cooling efficiency of the RF tag can be improved and the time required to restore the operation of the RF tag can be shortened.
Further, by making the container cylindrical, the RF tag can be attached to the object without considering the direction of the RF tag, and the task of attaching the RF tag to the object can be facilitated.
In the heat-resistant RF tag according to the present invention, the container has a cylindrical portion and lid portions that are fitted and fixed to both sides of the cylindrical portion in an axial direction, and the lid portions are attached to the cylindrical portion. In a state before being fitted into the portion, the outer diameter of the portion of the lid portion fitted into the cylindrical portion is larger than the inner diameter of the cylindrical portion, and the lid portion is positioned between the cylindrical portion and the fitting portion from the cylindrical portion. It is preferable that locking means are provided to prevent falling off.
With such a shape of the container (space portion), the effect of promoting convection during cooling of the RF tag can be obtained, and the container can be easily manufactured.
In addition, the outer diameter of the portion fitted into the cylindrical portion is larger than the inner diameter of the cylindrical portion, and the lid portion is attached to the cylindrical portion by press-fitting. Therefore, screwing or the like is not required. When screws are used, the lid may fall off the cylinder due to loosening of the screws, etc., and the inlay in the container may fall accordingly. There is a risk of scratching, but since screws are not required in the present invention, there is no risk of such an event occurring.
However, since the RF tag is repeatedly heated (expanded) and cooled (contracted) during use, even if the above-described press-fitting method is used, the container may be deformed and the fitting portion of the cylindrical portion and the lid portion may become deformed. A gap may be generated between them, and the lid may come off from the cylindrical portion. Therefore, by providing locking means at the fitting portion of the cylindrical portion and the lid portion, the lid portion is reliably prevented from falling off from the cylindrical portion.
Here, the fitting portion of the lid portion is formed with a groove into which the longitudinal end portion of the heat-resistant sheet-like base material of the inlay is fitted, and the heat-resistant sheet-like base material is supported by the opposing lid portion. The heat-resistant sheet-like substrate can be positioned within the container by sandwiching it from both sides in the longitudinal direction.
As a result, the heat-resistant sheet-like substrate (inlay) can be positioned in the container with a simple configuration.
In addition , since the inlay antenna uses a wire (dipole) spirally wound on the front side, the antenna can be made flexible. As a result, the wires are protruded on both sides in the longitudinal direction of the heat-resistant sheet-like base material, and the number of turns of the helical portion of the wire is variable, so that the size of the container is not excessively increased. It is possible to accommodate an antenna with an appropriate length, and to bring the resonance frequency of the RF tag closer to the resonance point, thereby improving communication sensitivity.
By compressing the helically wound portion of the wire with the opposing lid, the heat-resistant sheet-like substrate (inlay) can be positioned in the container.
The heat-resistant RF tag according to the present invention has an inlay in which an IC chip and an antenna are arranged on a heat-resistant sheet-like base material, and is placed in a heat-resistant resin container having a space inside. Therefore, the contact surface between the container and the inlay can be reduced, and the heat transfer from the container to the inlay can be reduced. Furthermore, since the container is formed with a vent for exposing the inlay to the outside air, the cooling efficiency of the RF tag can be improved and the time required to restore the operation of the RF tag can be shortened.
Therefore, it is possible to provide an RF tag capable of achieving stable tracking with a simple configuration.

As shown in FIGS. 2A and 2B, the

Furthermore, after the

Next, referring to FIGS. 3A to 3C, a heat-resistant RF tag (hereinafter simply referred to as an RF tag) 40 according to a second embodiment of the present invention will be described. The same members as those of the
As shown in FIGS. 3A to 3C, the
For the
The basic shape of the antenna is a dipole antenna, and the linear length of the wire on one side along the longitudinal direction of the heat-resistant sheet-like substrate is 81.5 mm (λ/4: 920 MHz). Therefore, in this state, the length of the antenna alone is about 16 cm, which makes the length of the RF tag too long.
In passive type RF tags, in the case of a linear dipole antenna, there is a difference between the radio waves oscillated from the transmitter side and the resonance point (because there is no balun like the transmitter side), and the communication performance deteriorates. (Due to lack of straight capacity (C), the frequency shifts to the long wave side).
Therefore, we tried to shorten the antenna so as not to impair the performance of the antenna.
Specifically, instead of shortening the length of the antenna, the length of the antenna is lengthened and spirally wound (increased the C component of the resonance circuit), so that the resonance point can be approached. Note that matching to the resonance point can be performed, for example, by making the length of the antenna longer than λ/4 and adjusting the spiral diameter and the number of turns.

For example, when an RF tag is used in a drying furnace or a heating furnace, if the RF tag heated to a high temperature is exposed to ambient air, an upward air current is generated by convection. Therefore, in order to promote the circulation of this air, the container containing the inlay is provided with a ventilation hole extending in the vertical direction, so that the outside air can flow inside the RF tag and the temperature drop of the IC chip can be accelerated.

Next, an example conducted to confirm the effects of the present invention will be described.
First, the measurement results of the time required for the RF tag to return to operation (be able to operate as a semiconductor) after being heat-treated in a heating furnace and taken out will be described with reference to FIG. The heat treatment was performed at 260° C. for 20 to 40 minutes.
The RF tags used were three types of RF tags according to the example based on FIG. 3C and one type of RF tag according to the comparative example. Specifically, in the tags according to the examples, when only the IC chip is covered with the mold resin in Example 1, the junction between the heat-resistant sheet-like base material and the antenna and the IC chip are covered with the mold resin in Example 2. When covered, Example 3 is not covered with mold resin (state shown in FIG. 3C), and the RF tag according to the comparative example has an opening formed in the inlay shown in FIG. This is the case where it is sandwiched between two heat-resistant resin plate materials (heat-resistant temperature: 250°C, thickness: 5 mm).
As shown in FIG. 4, the configuration of Examples 1 to 3, that is, the container having a space portion is used, and the container is provided with a ventilation portion, so that the configuration of the comparative example, that is, the container is used. It was found that the time required for returning to operation can be greatly shortened compared to a configuration using a plate material that does not form a ventilation part. In particular, it was found that the time required to restore the operation of the RF tag was 7 minutes or more in the comparative example, but could be stably shortened to less than 30 seconds in Examples 1-3.
Subsequently, the RF tag according to the example based on FIG. 5 for explanation.
The RF tag used had a junction between a thermal sheet-like base material and an antenna and an IC chip covered with mold resin, and the surface temperature was measured at three points. Specifically, there are three locations: the center in the longitudinal direction of the heat-resistant sheet-like base material (near the vent), the center in the axial direction in the container (near the vent), and the end in the axial direction in the container.
As shown in FIG. 5, it was found that the cooling effect of the RF tag becomes remarkable by using a container having a space and forming a vent in the container. In particular, it was found that the cooling rate of the RF tag was fast in the heat-resistant sheet-like substrate and in the container near the vent (decreased to less than 50°C in about 10 minutes).
From the above, it can be seen that by using the heat-resistant RF tag of the present invention, the cooling efficiency of the RF tag can be improved more than before, so the time required for the RF tag to return to operation can be shortened more than before. rice field.
Therefore, stable tracking can be achieved even in a high-temperature environment (for example, 150° C. or higher, preferably 200° C. or higher).
The present invention has been described above with reference to the embodiments, but the present invention is not limited to the configurations described in the above embodiments, and the matters described in the claims.
