Description
The present invention relates to an illuminating device that can be used for bounce photography, a control method thereof, and an imaging system including the illuminating device.
One of the shooting methods using an imaging device is to use a strobe device (lighting device) to irradiate the ceiling with strobe light (flash) and irradiate the subject with reflected light diffused from the ceiling to shoot. There is so-called bounce photography to be performed. There is known a strobe device that calculates an appropriate bounce angle based on the distance from the image pickup device to the subject at the time of bounce shooting and changes the irradiation angle of the strobe light from the strobe device (see Patent Document 1). According to the technique described in Patent Document 1, bounce photography can be performed with an appropriate exposure.
In addition, when the bounce angle is set, the tilt angle (posture) of the image pickup device body is acquired and stored, and the tilt angle of the image pickup device body is added so that the irradiation direction of the strobe light does not change during actual shooting. A technique for adjusting the bounce angle has been proposed (see Patent Document 2). According to the technique described in Patent Document 2, an appropriate bounce illumination state can be maintained even if the posture of the image pickup apparatus main body changes.
For example, a photographer accustomed to bounce shooting may set a bounce angle when the shooting optical axis is not directed at the subject. On the other hand, in the above-mentioned prior art, when the irradiation angle of the strobe light is set, the subject exists on the extension line of the photographing optical axis, that is, the subject image is incident on the image pickup apparatus main body through the photographing optical system of the lens barrel. It is assumed that it is in a state of being. Therefore, when the bounce angle is set when the shooting optical axis is not directed to the subject, in the above-mentioned conventional technique, when bounce shooting is performed with the shooting optical axis directed to the subject, the light emitting unit is in the direction intended by the photographer. The problem arises that you cannot turn the light.
According to the present invention, when the irradiation direction of the illumination light is manually set, it is possible to maintain an appropriate bounce illumination state at the time of shooting regardless of the orientation of the light emitting portion when the irradiation direction of the illumination light is set. It is an object of the present invention to provide a lighting device.
The lighting device according to the present invention is a lighting device including a movable portion having a light emitting portion and a main body portion that rotatably holds the movable portion in a predetermined direction, and the operation is performed in response to an operation from the outside. The control includes a storage means for storing the posture of the movable portion with respect to the main body portion when the light is formed, a detection means for detecting the posture of the main body portion, and a control means for controlling the drive of the movable portion. The means captures the irradiation direction of the illumination light emitted from the light emitting unit in the posture of the movable portion stored in the storage means with an imaging device equipped with the illumination device in response to the first operation. When the irradiation direction of the illumination light is determined and the second operation different from the first operation is executed after the first operation, the light emitting unit responds to the second operation. The movable portion is driven based on the posture of the main body portion detected by the detection means so that the irradiation direction of the illumination light from the light source becomes the irradiation direction of the determined illumination light, and before the first operation. When the second operation is executed, the movable portion is arranged so that the posture of the movable portion with respect to the main body portion is the posture when the operation from the outside is performed in response to the second operation. It is characterized by driving.
According to the present invention, when the irradiation direction of the illumination light is manually set, an appropriate bounce illumination state is maintained at the time of shooting regardless of the orientation of the light emitting portion when the irradiation direction of the illumination light is set. Can be done.

Specifically, the
The interface (I / F) 108 enables communication between a
The
The
The

FIG. 3 is a block diagram showing a schematic configuration of the
The
The
The
The
The
Next, a procedure for controlling the irradiation direction of the strobe light from the
For photographers (users) who are accustomed to bounce shooting, it is empirical without the need to hold the
In step S101, the
In step S103, the
FIG. 5 is a flowchart of a process of determining the strobe light irradiation direction after the strobe light irradiation direction is manually set by the process of steps S101 to S103. Each step of the flowchart of FIG. 5 is realized by the
Here, the
When the
In step S201, the
In step S203, the
In step S204, the
In the processing of the flowchart of FIG. 5, the trigger for determining the irradiation direction of the strobe light is the start of strobe light emission shooting (fully pressing the release button), but the present invention is not limited to this. For example, a shooting preparation operation when the release button is pressed halfway and the first switch is turned on, development processing and coding processing executed according to shooting, storage of image data in a
FIG. 6 shows the orientation of the light emitting unit 207 (relative to the

When the determination in step S301 determines that the confirmation flag is not FALSE (is TRUE) (NO in S301), the
Specifically, the irradiation
7 and 8 are schematic views for specifically explaining the processes described with reference to FIGS. 4 to 6. FIG. 7A schematically shows the processing before the processing in step S101 and the processing in steps S101 to 103. The photographer manually rotates the
FIG. 7 (c) schematically shows a process in which the process of steps S301 to 303 is executed as a situation following FIG. 7 (b). The photographer quickly half-presses the release button of the
8 (a) shows, as a situation following FIG. 7 (c), the processing of steps S201 to S206 of FIG. 5, that is, the photographer causes the
FIG. 8B shows the situation following FIG. 8A, in which the photographer views the posture of the
As described above, according to the present embodiment, even when the
Next, a configuration in which the
When the first mode is selected, the operation in the imaging system will be the operation described with reference to FIGS. 4 to 7, so the description thereof will be omitted, and the case where the second mode is selected will be described. This will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 9 is a flowchart of a process of manually determining the irradiation direction of the strobe light from the
In the process of step S401, the photographer holds the
The second selection unit is an operation means provided in the
