Description
The present invention relates to an insoluble anode used for electroplating and a method for producing the same.
Conventionally, a soluble anode electrode has been used as the anode electrode for electroplating, but since maintenance is easy, a method using an insoluble anode has been adopted. As such an insoluble anode, for example,
In electroplating using an insoluble anode, highly active oxygen gas is generated from the surface of the insoluble anode when the plating solution is electrolyzed. The organic compound added to the plating solution is oxidatively decomposed and consumed by this active oxygen (active oxygen). For example, it is required to form a dense and flat copper plating film on a printed circuit board to be plated so that a stable current flows through a wiring pattern formed by electrolytic copper plating. Therefore, the copper plating solution contains a brightener composed of an organic compound as an additive, but the brightener is oxidatively decomposed by active oxygen generated at the insoluble anode. The consumption of brighteners due to oxidative decomposition leads to an increase in the amount of expensive brighteners used, which is one of the factors that increase the production cost of printed circuit boards.
The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and is used for electroplating, which can reduce the decomposition and consumption of an additive composed of an organic compound contained in a plating solution and can reduce the amount of the additive used. It is an object of the present invention to provide an insoluble anode of the above.
