Description
The present invention relates to an electric connector and an electric connector assembly, and more particularly to an electric connector and an electric connector assembly having a locking mechanism for holding a mated state with the mating connector.
For example, as an electric connector having a locking mechanism for holding a mated state with a mating connector, there is a technique described in Patent Document 1 (Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No. 2004-87462). In the electric connector described in Patent Document 1, a locking portion is provided on the plug-side shell, an engaging portion is provided on the receptacle-side shell, and when the plug is inserted into the receptacle, the locking portion and the engaging portion engage with each other. In addition, the slide member is slidably arranged on the plug-side shell, and the sliding member is moved from the engaging position to the disengaging position to press the locking portion with the sliding member and engage with the locking portion. The engagement with the joint is released (see the summary of Reference 1).
In the case of a conventional electric connector with a lock mechanism, when the electric connector (plug) is pulled out to release the mated state, it may be forcibly pulled out at an angle or pulled out instantly with a strong force. Then, the slide member may be pulled out by an unreasonable force before the slide member moves from the engaging position to the disengaging position and the engaging portion and the engaging portion are disengaged. By repeating such forcible pulling, the locking portion or the engaging portion may be worn or damaged. Therefore, the conventional electric connector with a locking mechanism has a problem that the durability of the locking portion or the engaging portion of the locking mechanism is inferior.
Therefore, one object of the present invention is to provide an electric connector with a locking mechanism, which can improve the durability of the locking mechanism.
The above and other objects and novel features of the present invention will become apparent from the description and accompanying drawings herein.

The lock mechanism includes a lock mechanism for locking the first electric connector and a holding portion for holding the fitted state of the first electric connector and the second electric connector, and the lock mechanism provides an operating member for releasing the lock. The force required to move the operating member in the opposite direction of the fitting direction to release the lock is smaller than the force required to release the holding of the fitted state by the holding portion. It is what has been done.
Further, the electric connector assembly according to the present invention is an electric connector assembly including a first electric connector and a second electric connector, and is in a fitted state of the first electric connector and the second electric connector. The lock mechanism includes a lock mechanism for locking the first electric connector and a holding mechanism for holding the fitted state of the first electric connector and the second electric connector, and the lock mechanism has an operating member for releasing the lock. Then, the lock is released by moving the operating member in the opposite direction of the fitting direction, and when the operating portion is operated in the opposite direction of the fitting direction in the fitted state, the lock by the locking mechanism is first released. Next, it is configured so that the holding of the fitting by the holding mechanism is released.

FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing a configuration of a plug (cable-side connector) according to an embodiment of the electric connector according to the present invention, and FIG. 2 is an exploded perspective view showing the configuration of the plug shown in FIG. In FIG. 2, a part of the lower right part of the lower case is omitted so that the lock portion can be easily seen.
First, the configuration of the plug according to the present embodiment will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2. As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the
The
The
The
The
The
The
The sleeve (operating member) 16 is composed of a cantilever-shaped
The
Next, the configuration of the receptacle (board-side connector) according to the present embodiment will be described with reference to FIGS. 3 and 4. FIG. 3 is a perspective view showing the configuration of the receptacle according to the embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 4 is an exploded perspective view showing the configuration of the receptacle shown in FIG.
As shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the
The
The
Next, the fitting operation and the removing operation of the
First, when fitting the
Next, when the
In the plug 10 and the receptacle 70 of the present embodiment, the force (F 1 ) required to move the
FIG. 12 is an enlarged cross-sectional view of the
Therefore, according to the electric connector and the electric connector of the present embodiment, when the connector is pulled out, the sleeve is slid in the pulling-out direction until the lock claw moves inward and the lock is completely released. Since the temporary lock) holds the connector fitting, there is no risk of damaging the lock claw even when the sleeve is forcibly pulled or pulled vigorously with a strong force, and the durability of the lock mechanism is improved.
Further, the electric connector and the electric connector of the present embodiment have a small number of parts and do not have a complicated structure, so that they can be easily assembled. That is, a coil spring, which is a typical soft spring, can be easily incorporated between the upper and lower cases and the sleeve.
Although the invention made by the present inventor has been specifically described above based on the embodiment thereof, the present invention is not limited to the embodiment and can be variously modified without departing from the gist thereof. Needless to say.
For example, in the above-described embodiment, the
Further, in the above-described embodiment, the lock mechanism is on both side surfaces of the case, but the lock mechanism may be on the upper and lower surfaces.
Further, in the above embodiment, the shape of the lock claw is substantially right angle, and the temporary holding is released after the lock mechanism is completely released, but the release end of the lock and the release start of the temporary hold overlap. You may. For example, the structure may be such that a rounded surface is formed at the free end of the lock claw so that the lock claw can be pulled out by force.
The electric connector according to the present invention can be widely used for industrial use, commercial use, home use and the like.
