Description
[1]基材と、該基材の表面に形成された被覆層とを備える被覆切削工具であって、前記被覆層は、前記基材上に配置されるTi化合物層と、該Ti化合物層上に配置されるα型酸化アルミニウム層とからなる被覆層;及び、前記基材上に配置されるTi化合物層と、該Ti化合物層上に配置されるα型酸化アルミニウム層と、該α型酸化アルミニウム層上に配置されるTi化合物層とからなる被覆層;のうちいずれか一方であり、前記α型酸化アルミニウム層において、下記式(1)で表される(0,0,6)面の組織係数をTC18(0,0,6)とし、下記式(2)で表される(0,0,12)面の組織係数をTC18(0,0,12)とし、下記式(3)で表される(0,1,14)面の組織係数をTC18(0,1,14)としたとき、前記α型酸化アルミニウム層の下記18の結晶面の組織係数のうち、前記TC18(0,0,6)が最大であり、前記TC18(0,0,12)が二番目に大きくなり、前記TC18(0,1,14)が三番目に大きくなり、前記TC18(0,0,6)が、7.50以上14.00以下であり、前記TC18(0,0,12)が、2.00以上5.00以下であり、前記TC18(0,1,14)が、0.80以上2.50以下であり、前記α型酸化アルミニウム層の平均厚さが、1.0μm以上15μm以下であり、前記基板と前記α型酸化アルミニウム層との間に配置される前記Ti化合物層の平均厚さが、2.0μm以上20μm以下であり、前記基材上に配置される前記Ti化合物層、及び前記α型酸化アルミニウム層上に配置される前記Ti化合物層は、Ti元素と、C、N、OおよびBからなる群より選ばれる少なくとも1種の元素とを含むTi化合物層である、被覆切削工具。
[2]前記基板と前記α型酸化アルミニウム層との間に配置される前記Ti化合物層は、Ti元素と、C、N、OおよびBからなる群より選ばれる少なくとも1種の元素とのTi化合物からなるTi化合物層である、[1]の被覆切削工具。
[3]前記被覆層の平均厚さは、3.0μm以上30μm以下である、[1]又は[2]の被覆切削工具。
[4]前記基材は、超硬合金、サーメット、セラミックスおよび立方晶窒化硼素焼結体のいずれかである、[1]〜[3]のいずれかの被覆切削工具。

評価項目:試料に欠損もしくはチッピングが発生したとき、または試料の最大逃げ面摩耗幅が0.2mmに至ったときを工具寿命とし、工具寿命までの加工時間を測定した。

送り:0.40mm/rev、

評価項目:試料が欠損に至ったときを工具寿命とし、工具寿命までの衝撃回数を測定した。衝撃回数は、試料と被削材とが接触した回数とし、接触回数が最大で20000回に到達した時点で試験を終了した。つまり、工具寿命が「20000回」となっているのは、20000回の衝撃回数に到達しても工具寿命に至らなかったことを意味する。なお、各試料について、5個のインサートを用意し、それぞれ衝撃回数を測定し、それらの衝撃回数の値から相加平均値を求め、工具寿命とした。

- 基材と、該基材の表面に形成された被覆層とを備える被覆切削工具であって、
前記被覆層は、前記基材上に配置されるTi化合物層と、該Ti化合物層上に配置されるα型酸化アルミニウム層とからなる被覆層、及び、前記基材上に配置されるTi化合物層と、該Ti化合物層上に配置されるα型酸化アルミニウム層と、該α型酸化アルミニウム層上に配置されるTi化合物層とからなる被覆層、のいずれか一方であり、
前記α型酸化アルミニウム層において、下記式(1)で表される(0,0,6)面の組織係数をTC18(0,0,6)とし、下記式(2)で表される(0,0,12)面の組織係数をTC18(0,0,12)とし、下記式(3)で表される(0,1,14)面の組織係数をTC18(0,1,14)としたとき、前記α型酸化アルミニウム層の下記18の結晶面の組織係数のうち、前記TC18(0,0,6)が最大であり、前記TC18(0,0,12)が二番目に大きくなり、前記TC18(0,1,14)が三番目に大きくなり、
前記TC18(0,0,6)が、7.50以上14.00以下であり、

- 前記基板と前記α型酸化アルミニウム層との間に配置される前記Ti化合物層は、Ti元素と、C、N、OおよびBからなる群より選ばれる少なくとも1種の元素とのTi化合物からなるTi化合物層である、請求項1に記載の被覆切削工具。
- 前記被覆層の平均厚さは、3.0μm以上30μm以下である、請求項1又は2に記載の被覆切削工具。
- 前記基材は、超硬合金、サーメット、セラミックスおよび立方晶窒化硼素焼結体のいずれかである、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の被覆切削工具。
