Description
The present invention relates to a cooling system for an engine, and more particularly to a cooling system for an engine including a water-cooled heat exchanger.
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, an engine employs a system in which a part of exhaust gas is recirculated to an intake system of an engine body, thereby controlling a combustion temperature. Since the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) gas to be recirculated to the intake system has a high temperature, the charging efficiency of the intake gas is reduced. Therefore, an EGR cooler is provided in the middle of the recirculation path to control the temperature of the EGR gas. I have.
In
EGR gas circulated in the intake system is required to be cooled with higher efficiency. That, EGR gas, it is possible to reduce the volume by lowering the temperature in the middle that is circulated to the intake system, to suppress the ullage and a decrease in NO X reduction effect of the air charging efficiency in the combustion chamber. Therefore, there is a demand for more efficient cooling of the EGR gas while suppressing an increase in the driving resistance of the water pump.
In the above, the problem has been described by taking the EGR cooler as an example, but other water-cooled heat exchangers in the engine also have the same problem.
SUMMARY An advantage of some aspects of the invention is to provide an engine cooling system that can perform high-efficiency cooling in a heat exchanger while suppressing an increase in driving resistance of a water pump. The purpose is to do.
An engine cooling system according to one aspect of the present invention includes an engine body in which a plurality of cylinders are arranged in series, a block water jacket for flowing a coolant through a cylinder block is formed, and an engine body outside the engine body. And a water-cooled heat exchanger that performs heat exchange using the cooling liquid, in the engine cooling system, wherein in the block water jacket, one end side in a cylinder row direction that is an arrangement direction of the plurality of cylinders. The flow of the coolant is formed from a portion corresponding to the cylinder disposed on the other side to a portion corresponding to the cylinder disposed on the other end side, and a side wall of the cylinder block is formed from the block water jacket from the block water jacket. An outlet for taking out a part of the coolant is opened, and in the area outside the engine body, The water-cooled heat exchanger is disposed in the downstream region when a region downstream of the outlet is defined as a downstream region based on the flow direction of the cooling liquid in the hot water jacket. And a heat exchanger inlet for introducing the cooling liquid taken out through the outlet, and a relay flow path connecting the outlet and the heat exchanger inlet is provided in the downstream region. Inside the block water jacket, the cooling liquid is arranged to flow along the flow direction of the cooling liquid, and among the plurality of cylinders, the cylinder arranged at the one end side in the cylinder row direction In a cylinder bore of a predetermined cylinder except for the above, an imaginary axis orthogonal to both an axis passing through the center of the opening of the cylinder bore and along the cylinder row direction and a center axis of the cylinder bore is assumed. Rutoki, wherein the block extraction unit is a flow path leading to the outlet from the water jacket is formed along the imaginary axis.
In the engine cooling system according to the above aspect, the water-cooled heat exchanger is disposed in the downstream region with respect to the engine body, and the relay flow path connects the outlet of the engine body and the heat exchanger inlet. Are routed in the downstream region. Furthermore, the relay flow path is routed such that the flow of the coolant in the flow path is in a state along the flow direction of the coolant in the block water jacket. That is, in the engine cooling system according to the above aspect, by employing the arrangement of the water-cooled heat exchanger and the wiring mode of the relay flow path, the coolant flowing through the block water jacket in the engine body is sequentially reduced. It flows through the relay channel in the direction, and is sent to the water-cooled heat exchanger.
Therefore, in the engine cooling system according to the above aspect, the coolant can be introduced while suppressing a decrease in the flow rate of the coolant with respect to the water-cooled heat exchanger, thereby suppressing an increase in the driving resistance of the water pump. However, highly efficient cooling in the water-cooled heat exchanger is possible.
Further, in the engine cooling system according to the above aspect, since the take-out portion, which is a flow path from the block water jacket to the take-out port, is formed along the virtual axis, the flow of the coolant from the outer periphery of the cylinder bore is reduced. It flows toward the outlet in the normal direction. Therefore, in the above aspect, by taking out the coolant to be supplied to the water-cooled heat exchanger from a portion having a low flow resistance in the block water jacket, it is more advantageous to suppress an increase in the driving resistance of the water pump. .
In the engine cooling system according to another aspect of the present invention, in the aspect described above, the cylinder block has a cylinder bore wall surrounding the plurality of cylinders, and the block water jacket surrounds the cylinder bore wall. A block introduction port for introducing the cooling liquid into the block water jacket is formed on a side wall of the cylinder block, and a water jacket spacer inserted into the block water jacket is formed. Further, in the block water jacket, a flow path formed between an outer peripheral surface of the water jacket spacer and an outer wall of the block water jacket is provided with a flow path for the cooling liquid from the block inlet to the outlet. It is configured as one flow path.
In the engine cooling system according to the above aspect, since the coolant taken out to the water-cooled heat exchanger passes through the first flow path on the outer peripheral side of the water jacket spacer, heat is received from the cylinder bore wall in the cylinder block. Can be sent to the water-cooled heat exchanger. Therefore, in the above embodiment, the cooling performance of the water-cooled heat exchanger can be further improved, and the size of the water-cooled heat exchanger can be reduced.
In the engine cooling system according to another aspect of the present invention, in the above aspect, the block water jacket is configured to block the cooling fluid into a portion corresponding to the cylinder disposed on the other end side in the cylinder row direction. The block water jacket has a discharge portion for discharging from the water jacket, and the block water jacket has a second flow path of the cooling liquid from the block inlet to the discharge portion passing through the inner peripheral side of the water jacket spacer. The first flow path and the second flow path communicate with each other.
In the engine cooling system according to the above aspect, the coolant from the block inlet to the discharge portion is caused to pass through the second flow path on the inner peripheral side of the water jacket spacer, so that the heat of the cylinder bore wall is efficiently received. And high cooling performance can be realized.
Further, in the engine cooling system according to the above aspect, since the first flow path and the second flow path are in communication with each other, a part of the coolant flowing through the first flow path is also supplied to the second flow path. As a result, the cooling performance of the cylinder bore wall can be prevented from lowering.
In the engine cooling system according to another aspect of the present invention, in the above aspect, the block inlet and the outlet are both opened on the intake side wall or the exhaust side wall of the cylinder block.
In the engine cooling system according to the above aspect, since the block inlet and the outlet are opened on the same side wall of the cylinder block, the flow rate of the coolant is maintained in a high state in the block water jacket of the cylinder block, The coolant can be supplied to the water-cooled heat exchanger at a high flow rate. Therefore, the above aspect is advantageous in further increasing the cooling efficiency of the water-cooled heat exchanger.
In the engine cooling system according to another aspect of the present invention, in the above aspect, the predetermined cylinder is a cylinder disposed on the other end side in the cylinder row direction.
In the engine cooling system according to the above aspect, since the predetermined cylinder is a cylinder disposed at the other end in the cylinder row direction, the outlet and the water-cooled heat exchanger have a close relationship to each other, and the relay flow The road can be relatively short. Therefore, in the above aspect, it is possible to suppress a decrease in the durability of the relay channel connecting the outlet and the water-cooled heat exchanger due to engine vibration or the like. In addition, the number of locations for supporting the relay flow passage to other locations such as the cylinder block and the engine can be reduced, and workability during engine assembly is excellent.
In the engine cooling system according to another aspect of the present invention, in the above aspect, the water-cooled heat exchanger is an EGR cooler disposed in an EGR gas passage that recirculates exhaust gas exhausted from the engine body to an intake passage. The EGR gas passage is provided so as to be branched from an exhaust passage of the exhaust gas exhausted from the engine body, and the EGR cooler has a heat exchanger inlet above the outlet. , And a gas introduction portion for introducing the EGR gas into the EGR cooler is provided above the branched portion.
Note that “upper” in the above refers to the upper side in a state where the engine is mounted on the vehicle.
In the engine cooling system according to the above aspect, since the heat exchanger inlet is located above the outlet, even if bubbles are generated in the coolant passage of the EGR cooler, Bubbles are prevented from returning to the block water jacket.
Further, in the engine cooling system according to the above aspect, since the gas introduction portion is located above the branched portion, even when condensed water is generated in the gas passage of the EGR cooler, the condensed water is not affected. Water (acidic water) can be suppressed from remaining in the EGR cooler and returned to the exhaust passage. Therefore, the above aspect is advantageous in ensuring the durability of the EGR cooler.
In the engine cooling system according to each of the above aspects, highly efficient cooling in the heat exchanger can be performed while suppressing an increase in the driving resistance of the water pump.
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. Note that the embodiment described below is one embodiment of the present invention, and the present invention is not limited to the following embodiment except for its essential configuration.
[Embodiment 1]
1. Cooling System An overview of an engine cooling system according to the present embodiment will be described with reference to FIG.
As shown in FIG. 1, the engine according to the present embodiment has an engine
In the

Cooling fluid channel FL 3 is a flow path that coolant flowing through the intake
A cooling liquid channel FL 2 and the cooling fluid channel FL 3 is continuous with the outer peripheral portion of the cylinder bore 10a of the
冷却液流路FL4は、冷却液流路FL2の途中の部分から分岐し、EGR(Exhaust Gas Recirculation)クーラ22に接続されている。
The cooling liquid flow path FL 4 branches from a middle part of the cooling liquid flow path FL 2 , and is connected to an EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) cooler 22. In the present embodiment, a branch of the cooling liquid channel FL 4 from the cooling liquid channel FL 2, is provided in a portion corresponding to the # 4 cylinder as an example. As will be described later, cooling liquid channel FL 4 is a flow path for flowing a cooling liquid flows along the bottom of the cylinder bore 10 a to 10 d, EGR cooler heat receiving a relatively small coolant from the
Cooling liquid channel FL 5 is branched from the middle portion of the cooling fluid channel FL 3, is connected to the automatic transmission
The coolant flow path FL 6 connects the automatic transmission
Cooling liquid channel FL 7 is a flow path for guiding the coolant discharged from the
The cooling liquid flow path FL 9 is a flow path branched from a part in the middle of the cooling liquid flow path FL 8 , and is a flow path for leading a part of the cooling liquid to the

Cooling liquid channel FL 9 has one end connected to the cooling fluid channel FL 10. Cooling liquid channel FL 10 has the other end is connected to the cooling fluid channel FL 13 provided in the exhaust port near the portion of the
The cooling liquid flow path FL 11 is a flow path connecting the
Cooling liquid channel FL 12 is a coolant heat deprived the temperature is lowered by the

Cooling liquid channel FL 13 extends toward the

6. The arrangement of the
As shown in FIG. 9, in the
As described above, the
Further, as shown in a portion surrounded by a two-dot chain line in FIG. 9, the passage is a take-out
By providing the
As shown in FIG. 9, in the engine according to the present embodiment, the coolant taken out from the
7. Effects In the
Therefore, in the
Further, in the
In the
In the
In the
In the
In the
In addition, in the
[Embodiment 2]
An engine cooling system according to the second embodiment will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 10 schematically shows the flow of the coolant in the
As shown in FIG. 10, the

In the present embodiment, the cooling fluid sent from the variable water pump is introduced from the
A

That is, in the
Also in the engine cooling system according to the present embodiment, the coolant taken out from the portion corresponding to the # 4 cylinder in the exhaust-

In the present invention, the water jacket spacer is not an essential component. The main flow path (flow path leading to the cylinder head) and the sub flow path (flow path leading to the water-cooled heat exchanger) may be defined by a water jacket in the cylinder block.
