Description
The present invention relates to a projector.
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, a light source device, a light modulation device that modulates light emitted from the light source device to form an image according to image information, and projection optics that magnify and project the formed image onto a projection surface such as a screen And a projector including the device (for example, see Patent Document 1).
The projector described in
Among these, the movable mirror is rotated when the posture of the projector is one of the vertical posture (horizontal projection posture of the image) and the vertical posture (vertical projection posture of the image). The light emitted by the second light source unit, of which the central axis of the reflector is suppressed to about 10 degrees or less with respect to the direction perpendicular to the direction of gravity, of the light source unit and the second light source unit, is incident on the rod integrator. Let it. This suppresses deterioration of the discharge lamp included in the light source unit used when the projector is in the vertical posture.
In addition, an intake port is provided on a surface (front surface) of the casing where the projection lens is exposed, and an exhaust port for exhausting heat from the casing is provided on a surface (rear surface) opposite to the surface. A mouth is provided.
By the way, the projector may be used in a state where an observer who observes a projected image is located around the projector. In such a case, if hot air is exhausted from the exhaust port located on the back of the housing, the air may be directed to the observer, and the observation environment is reduced.
On the other hand, a configuration is conceivable in which an exhaust port is provided on the front side where it is difficult for the observer to be positioned, and air is exhausted from the exhaust port.
However, with such an arrangement of the exhaust ports, there is a possibility that the exhaust ports are located below the projection lens in the vertical posture. In such a case, there is a problem that a heat haze is generated by the heat of the air exhausted from the exhaust port, and the projected image fluctuates.
SUMMARY An advantage of some aspects of the invention is to solve at least a part of the problems described above, and an object of the invention is to provide a projector that can suppress fluctuation of a projected image.
A projector according to one embodiment of the present invention includes a projection optical device that projects a substantially rectangular projection image, and an exterior housing that houses the projection optical device, wherein the exterior housing includes a front part, An opening through which the projected image passes, located at the front, and an exhaust port located at the front, which exhausts gas in the exterior housing, the projector is configured to project the projected image Is configured to be able to be installed in a first posture in which the projected image is horizontally long, and a second posture in which the projected image is vertically long, and the exhaust port is provided when the installation posture of the projector is the second posture. It is characterized by being located vertically above the opening.
Note that the projection image may include a non-display area (black image or white image) that is not visually recognized by an observer, in addition to an input image corresponding to image information input to the projector. This non-display area is an area for matching the aspect ratio of the projected image including the input image with the aspect ratio of the image forming area in a light modulation device such as a liquid crystal panel that modulates the incident light beam to form a projected image. . Therefore, examples of the projection image include a projection image in which the input image is set as a whole, and an input image that is a vertically or horizontally captured image by a digital camera or the like, and at least any of the upper, lower, left, and right of the captured image. And a non-display area arranged adjacent to the crab.
According to the one aspect, when the installation posture of the projector is the second posture, the exhaust port that discharges the heated gas is located above the opening through which the projection image passes in the vertical direction. According to this, since the gas discharged from the exhaust port is heated and flows upward in the vertical direction, it is possible to suppress the generation of a heat haze due to the heat of the gas in the projection range of the projection image. . When the installation posture of the projector is the first posture, the exhaust port is located on one side in the horizontal direction with respect to the opening. According to this, it is possible to suppress the occurrence of the heat haze caused by the heat of the gas discharged from the exhaust port within the projection range of the projection image. Therefore, it is possible to suppress the projection image from fluctuating, and to suppress the deterioration of the projection image.
In the above aspect, the notifying unit for notifying the predetermined information, and when the installation posture of the projector is a third posture in which the exhaust port is positioned vertically lower than the opening, It is preferable to include a notification control unit that notifies the notification unit of notification information that prompts a change in the installation posture.
Here, when the installation posture of the projector is the third posture, it is possible that the vertical direction of the projected image is opposite to the second posture, and the flow path of the gas in the projector is different from the expected flow path. It is possible that If the projector is installed in such a third position, it is difficult to observe the projected image, and the cooling efficiency of the heating element in the exterior housing is reduced.
On the other hand, according to the configuration, the user of the projector can easily understand the notification information, and the user can be encouraged to change the installation posture, so that the occurrence of the problem can be suppressed.
In the above aspect, the notification unit preferably displays a notification image including the notification information.
In addition, such a notification image may be displayed by projecting a projection image in which the notification image is superimposed on an input image corresponding to image information input from the outside, and only the notification image is projected as a projection image. It may be displayed. Further, the notification image may be displayed at a position different from the display position of the projection image.
According to the configuration, the notification image including the notification information is displayed, so that the user can easily understand the notification information.
In the above aspect, it is preferable that a power supply control unit that turns off the power of the projector when a predetermined time elapses after the notification information is notified is provided.
According to such a configuration, the user can be informed that the projector cannot be used in the third posture. In addition, when there is a possibility that the cooling efficiency of the heating element is reduced, the power supply of the projector is turned off, so that a further increase in the temperature of the heating element can be suppressed. Deterioration of the projector can be suppressed.

Examples of the light source device include a discharge lamp such as an ultra-high pressure mercury lamp or a light source device having a solid light source such as an LED and a reflector, an LD (Laser Diode), and excitation light emitted by being excited by light emitted from the LD. A light source device having a wavelength converter can be exemplified.
The homogenizing device has a pair of lens arrays and a superimposing lens having a small lens that divides the incident light beam into a plurality of partial light beams and then superimposes the plurality of partial light beams on the light modulation device. It has a polarization conversion element that emits light with the polarization direction aligned.

The collimating lenses 43 (the collimating lenses for the red, green, and blue light beams are referred to as 43R, 43G, and 43B, respectively) collimate the incident light.

[Detailed configuration of control device]
FIG. 6 is a block diagram illustrating a configuration of the
In response to such a problem, when the installation posture of the

The
When the
Further, the
The

Further, the

According to the
When the installation posture of the

By the
