Description
The present invention relates to an optical scanning device, and is particularly suitable for an optical scanning device in an image output unit such as a laser beam printer or a copying machine.
2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, light sources having a plurality of light emitting points have been used in optical scanning devices in order to achieve higher speed and higher definition.
A conventional optical scanning device including a light source having a plurality of light emitting points has the following problems.
In other words, when the focus position on the surface to be scanned is shifted due to the influence of the tolerance at the time of assembling each member of the optical scanning device, the light emitting points are arranged at intervals from each other in the main scanning direction. In the main scanning direction, the dot positions corresponding to the respective light-emitting points will vary in the main scanning direction. As a result, image defects, particularly moiré, occur, making it difficult to achieve high definition.
Therefore, in an optical scanning device including a light source having a plurality of light emitting points, it is required to realize high-speed and high-definition optical scanning devices while reducing variations in dot positions in the main scanning direction on the surface to be scanned. .
However, in the optical scanning device disclosed in
Patent Literature 2 discloses an optical scanning device in which a light source having a tilted elliptical light intensity distribution and a tilted stop corresponding to the light source are provided to reduce light amount unevenness due to angle dependence of transmittance.
However, in the optical scanning device disclosed in Patent Document 2, the main scanning stop and the sub-scanning stop for limiting the light beam diameter in the sub-scanning direction are integrally formed. Condensation may be deteriorated.
Further, in the optical scanning device disclosed in Patent Document 2, a method of reducing the light amount unevenness by optimizing the shape of the stop is disclosed, but the variation of the dot position in the main scanning direction on the surface to be scanned is disclosed. It cannot be reduced.
As described above, in a conventional optical scanning device including a light source having a plurality of light emitting points, it is not possible to reduce variations in dot positions in the main scanning direction on the surface to be scanned.
In view of the above, the present invention provides an optical scanning device including a light source having a plurality of light emitting points and capable of reducing variation in dot positions in the main scanning direction on a surface to be scanned.
An optical scanning device according to the present invention includes a light source having a plurality of light emitting points, a deflector for deflecting a light beam from the light source to scan a surface to be scanned in a main scanning direction, and causing the light beam from the light source to enter the deflector. An incident optical system, comprising an imaging optical system for guiding the light beam deflected by the deflector to the surface to be scanned, the incident optical system includes a main scanning stop that limits the light beam in the main scanning direction, and a main scanning stop. Are disposed at different positions, and have a sub-scanning stop that restricts the light beam in the sub-scanning direction, and the passing positions of the main light beams of the plurality of light beams emitted from the plurality of light emitting points in the main scanning stop are in the main scanning direction. Unlike each other at the ends in contact with the light beam in the main scanning direction of the main scanning aperture is characterized nonparallel der Rukoto the sub-scanning direction when viewed in the direction of the optical axis of the incident optical system.
According to the present invention, it is possible to provide an optical scanning device including a light source having a plurality of light emitting points, which can reduce variation in dot positions in a main scanning direction on a surface to be scanned.

The drawings described below may be drawn on a scale different from the actual scale in order to facilitate understanding of embodiments of the present invention.

The main scanning section corresponds to a section perpendicular to the sub-scanning direction, and the sub-scanning section corresponds to a section perpendicular to the main scanning direction.
In particular, in the present invention, the direction perpendicular to the optical axis direction of the incident optical system and the sub-scanning direction in the main scanning section is also defined as the main scanning direction.

In the following description, as described above, the optical axis direction is defined as the x axis, the main scanning direction is defined as the y axis, and the sub scanning direction is defined as the z axis. As for the rotation direction, a counterclockwise direction is defined as a positive direction. That is, with respect to the angle, the counterclockwise direction is defined as positive.

As shown in FIG. 2, in the conventional optical scanning device, the main
For this reason, variations in dot positions in the main scanning direction occur on the surface to be scanned 109.
FIGS. 4A and 4B show the main scanning stop 205 of the conventional optical scanning device and the
As described above, the main scanning stop 205 of the conventional optical scanning device has the y-direction side ends 205a and 205b parallel to the z-axis.
Here, the y-direction side end is the side through which the luminous flux of the aperture passes, that is, the main scanning end of the aperture provided in the aperture, and the side through which the luminous flux of the aperture passes, that is, the aperture of the aperture provided in the aperture. It means an end in the main scanning direction. In other words, the y-direction side end is an end that comes into contact with the light beam in the main scanning direction at the stop.
Therefore, as shown in FIG. 4A, the

As described above, in the

In FIG. 5A, the
As shown in FIG. 5A, the
Therefore, the

Therefore, in the

As shown in FIG. 6, as a result of the above, in the
This makes it possible to reduce variations in dot positions in the main scanning direction on the surface to be scanned 109.

FIG. 7 shows that in order to reduce the amount of deviation of the dot position on the surface to be scanned 109 in the
On the other hand, paying attention to the depth width of the imaging optical system, as shown in FIG. 8, when the angle θap is too large, the depth width of the imaging optical system is sharply reduced, resulting in poor imaging performance. Become.
Therefore, it is more preferable to design the
In other words, in consideration of the embodiment described later, it is preferable to design the
Further, as shown in FIG. 7C, the rate of change (Δ (θ ap ) −Δ (θ ap = 0 °)) / Δ (θ ap = 0 °) becomes tan (θ ap ). Proportional. Specifically, in the

As described above, in the optical scanning device according to the present embodiment, by designing at least one of the y-direction side ends 805a and 805b of the main scanning stop 805 to be non-parallel to the z-axis, the main scanning stop is controlled. It is possible to control the light beam passage position at 805.
In the main scanning stop 805, the

This makes it possible to reduce variations in dot positions in the main scanning direction on the surface to be scanned 109.
Although not described in detail, the main scanning aperture 805 may be designed based on the same discussion as in the first embodiment so that the angle −θap satisfies −90 ° <−θap <0 °. FIGS. 13A and 13B are a main scanning sectional view and a sub-scanning sectional view of an incident optical system in a conventional optical scanning device, respectively.

When such an intensity distribution exists in the light source, the principal ray and the center-of-gravity ray are generally different.
In the optical scanning device according to the third embodiment described below, even when the center-of-gravity light ray is considered, it is possible to reduce the variation in the dot position on the surface to be scanned.

Here, since the incident optical system of the optical scanning device according to the third embodiment is the same as the incident optical system of the optical scanning device according to the second embodiment, the same members are denoted by the same reference numerals. It is attached.

As shown in FIG. 15A, the center-of-
Therefore, the center-of-
On the other hand, as described above, in the optical scanning device according to the third embodiment, the passing position of the center-of-

Therefore, in the optical scanning device according to the present embodiment, by using the main scanning stop 805, the arrival positions of the center-of-gravity light beams 1500b and 1500c on the deflection surface of the
Also, it should be noted that in the optical scanning device according to the present embodiment, when the incident optical system is viewed from the plus direction of the z-axis to the minus direction, the center-of-

FIGS. 16A and 16B are a main scanning sectional view and a sub-scanning sectional view of an incident optical system in the optical scanning device according to the third embodiment, respectively.
As shown in Figure 16, as a result of the above, with respect to the spacing delta 0 of the
In this manner, the variation of the dot position in the main scanning direction on the surface to be scanned 109 can be reduced even for the center-of-gravity ray, and therefore, the main scanning direction viewed from the position of the center of gravity in the optical scanning device according to the present embodiment. Of the dot positions on the surface to be scanned can be reduced.
Although not described in detail, the main-scanning aperture 805 may be designed based on the same discussion as in the second embodiment so that the angle −θap satisfies −90 ° <−θap <0 °. Thus, in the optical scanning device according to the present embodiment, the amount of deviation of the dot position on the scanned
[Fourth embodiment]
FIG. 17 is a main scanning sectional view of an
Here, the
The
By designing at least one of the
This makes it possible to reduce variations in dot positions in the main scanning direction on the surface to be scanned 109.
In the first to fourth embodiments, the image-side focal position of the
Further, in the first to fourth embodiments, the end in the y direction of the main scanning aperture has a linear shape, but the present invention is not limited to this. For example, by forming the end of the main scanning stop in the y direction in a staircase shape (being formed from a plurality of linear portions), if the y coordinate of the passing position of the main ray from each light emitting point through the main scanning stop is different. By doing so, the same effect can be obtained.
According to the optical scanning device provided with the light source having a plurality of light emitting points according to each embodiment, the shape of the main scanning direction side end of the main scanning stop is made non-parallel to the sub-scanning direction, so that the deflector is The interval between the multiple beams on the deflecting surface is reduced. As a result, variations in dot positions in the main scanning direction on the surface to be scanned are reduced.
Therefore, according to the optical scanning device of each embodiment, it is possible to realize high-speed and high-definition while reducing variation in dot positions in the main scanning direction on the surface to be scanned.
The optical scanning device according to the preferred embodiment has been described above, but the present invention is not limited to the embodiment, and various modifications and changes can be made within the scope of the gist.

As described above, the

As described above, the
