Description
The present invention relates to an apparatus for relaying optical signals transmitted at a plurality of transmission rates (multirate).
PON(Passive Optical Network)システムは、光通信システムの一種である。 A PON (Passive Optical Network) system is a type of optical communication system. The PON system includes a station side device (Optical Line Terminal: OLT), one or more home side devices (Optical Network Unit: ONU), an optical fiber that transmits an optical signal, and an optical splitter that branches the optical fiber. . The OLT is connected to the ONU by an optical fiber and an optical splitter. An optical splitter is installed between the OLT and the ONU. Thereby, a plurality of home-side devices can be connected to one station-side device.
When the distance between the OLT and the ONU is large, an optical signal repeater can be disposed in the optical fiber between the OLT and the ONU. A configuration example of a PON system including an optical signal relay device is disclosed in, for example, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2012-227971 (Patent Document 1).
The intensity of the optical signal output from each of the plurality of ONUs can be different for each ONU. However, there is a possibility that the optical signal relay device relays optical signals having different intensities.
An object of the present invention is to realize an optical signal repeater capable of repeating optical signals having different intensities.
An optical signal repeater according to an aspect of the present invention receives a plurality of optical burst signals transmitted in a time-separated manner and generates a plurality of electrical signals respectively corresponding to the plurality of optical burst signals. A receiver, each of which receives an electrical signal of a corresponding transmission rate among the plurality of electrical signals, reproduces the data, and receives a plurality of data respectively output from the plurality of reproduction circuits A time division multiplexing unit that performs division multiplexing and an optical transmitter that includes a light emitting element and generates and outputs an optical signal corresponding to a plurality of time-division multiplexed data. In the corresponding optical signal output from the optical transmitter, the corresponding optical signal is generated from the plurality of optical burst signals so that the levels of the signals corresponding to the plurality of data are equal.
According to the above, it is possible to realize an optical signal repeater that can relay optical signals having different intensities.
[Description of Embodiment of the Present Invention]
First, embodiments of the present invention will be listed and described. In the following description, the terms “first” and “second” are used to distinguish a plurality of identical or similar elements and do not define the order of those elements.
(1) An optical signal repeater according to an aspect of the present invention receives a plurality of optical burst signals that are separated in time and sends a plurality of electrical signals respectively corresponding to the plurality of optical burst signals. An optical receiver to generate, and a plurality of reproduction circuits each receiving an electric signal of a corresponding transmission rate among a plurality of electric signals and reproducing data; and a plurality of output circuits respectively output from the plurality of reproduction circuits A time-division multiplexing unit that time-division-multiplexes data; and an optical transmitter that includes a light emitting element and generates and outputs an optical signal corresponding to the plurality of time-division multiplexed data. In the corresponding optical signal output from the optical transmitter, the corresponding optical signal is generated from the plurality of optical burst signals so that the levels of the signals corresponding to the plurality of data are equal.
According to said structure, the several optical signal which may differ in intensity | strength can be relayed in the state which aligned intensity | strength. The optical burst signal reaches the optical signal repeater in a state where the intensity or the phase may be different for each ONU due to, for example, a difference in transmission distance or the number of branches. When an optical signal having a small intensity is relayed as it is, the intensity of the optical signal can be further reduced in the OLT. Therefore, in the OLT, the difference in intensity among a plurality of optical signals can be significant. By equalizing the levels of a plurality of optical signals in the optical signal repeater, it is possible to reduce the difference in intensity that can occur during transmission of these optical signals.
(2) Preferably, the optical signal repeater further includes an idle pattern generation unit that generates an idle pattern using transmission rates of a plurality of optical burst signals and inserts the idle pattern between the plurality of data.
According to the above configuration, since the light emitting element (typically a laser diode) is continuously driven, the temperature of the light emitting element can be stabilized. By stabilizing the temperature of the light emitting element, the emission wavelength of the light emitting element can be stabilized.
The transmission rates of the plurality of optical burst signals may be the same or different. Furthermore, when the transmission rates of a plurality of optical burst signals are different, the transmission rates do not necessarily have to be multiplied.
(3) Preferably, the idle pattern generation unit generates an idle pattern based on the transmission rate of data before the idle pattern to be inserted.
According to said structure, the production | generation of an idle pattern can be made easy.
(4) Preferably, an idle pattern generation part produces | generates an idle pattern based on the instruction | indication from a station side apparatus.
According to the above configuration, in the optical signal repeater, it is possible to generate an idle pattern according to an instruction from the OLT and insert an idle pattern in a section where no signal is generated without managing the start and end of the data signal. Can do.
(5) Preferably, the idle pattern generation unit fixes a clock frequency for generating the idle pattern.
According to said structure, it can suppress that the structure for producing | generating an idle pattern becomes complicated.
(6) Preferably, the idle pattern generation unit generates an idle pattern based on a transmission rate of an optical burst signal having the shortest preamble among a plurality of burst optical signals.
According to said structure, the area of an idle pattern can be utilized as time for the receiver of a station side apparatus to train the clock frequency corresponding to a preamble, for example. In the preamble, a process for reproducing the received signal and synchronizing the clock with each bit of the data signal is executed. The shorter the preamble, the shorter the time during which synchronization processing can be executed. By pretraining the clock frequency using an idle pattern based on the transmission rate of the optical burst signal having the shortest preamble, a margin for the time for synchronization processing can be made even with a short preamble.
(7) Preferably, the plurality of optical burst signals include a GE-PON optical burst signal conforming to the IEEE 802.3 standard and a 10G-EPON optical burst signal conforming to the IEEE 802.3 standard. The idle pattern generation unit generates an idle pattern based on the transmission rate of the 10G-EPON upstream optical burst signal. The upstream optical burst signal includes a synchronization pattern and a burst delimiter pattern. An idle pattern is a repetitive pattern of a fixed-length bit pattern, and an arbitrary continuous 66-bit section of the repetitive pattern is a bit pattern separated by a Hamming distance of 15 or more from both the synchronization pattern and the burst delimiter pattern. is there.
According to the above configuration, it is possible to prevent pattern synchronization from being erroneously performed on the idle pattern inserted by the optical signal repeater in the 10G signal reception process by the station side device, for example.
(8) Preferably, the optical signal repeater further includes a rate determination unit for determining transmission rates of a plurality of optical burst signals.
According to the above configuration, it is possible to generate an idle pattern corresponding to the transmission rate.
(9) Preferably, at least one of the plurality of reproduction circuits includes a clock / data reproduction unit arranged at a distance of one wavelength or less of the optical burst signal before the time division multiplexing unit.
According to the above configuration, an optical signal having an accurate waveform can be output from the optical signal repeater.

IEEE802.3標準は、PONの規格として、GE(Gigabit Ethernet(登録商標)))−PONと、10G−EPON(Ethernet PON)とを定める。 GE−PONの通信速度(伝送レート)は、1.25Gbps(bit per second)である。
The IEEE 802.3 standard defines GE (Gigabit Ethernet (registered trademark))-PON and 10G-EPON (Ethernet PON) as PON standards. One of the differences between GE-PON and 10G-EPON is the data transmission rate. The communication speed (transmission rate) of GE-PON is 1.25 Gbps (bit per second). The transmission rate of 10G-EPON is 10.3125 Gbps. The
The
Each

The
The transmission of uplink signals by each ONU will be described. The terminal device at each subscriber's house transmits data. The data is converted into an optical burst signal by the ONU. The optical burst signal is composed of bits. When the transmission rate of the ONU conforms to GE-PON, the bit transmission rate is 1.25 Gbps. On the other hand, when the transmission rate of the ONU conforms to 10G-EPON, the bit transfer rate is 10.3125 Gbps.
The
The
The
The optical
When receiving the optical signal, the optical

The
The

The
The 1G /

(Third embodiment)
FIG. 8 shows a configuration for inserting an idle pattern IDLE according to the third embodiment of the present invention. Referring to FIG. 8, idle
It is considered that the phase is shifted between the 10G signal and the 1G signal. Furthermore, the frequency of the 10G signal is not a multiplication of the frequency of the 1G signal. By generating an idle pattern based on a reference clock having a high transmission rate, an idle pattern can be densely inserted between the 10G signal and the 1G signal. However, the fixed rate for generating the idle pattern may be 1.25 Gbps. In this case, the

(Fourth embodiment)

FIG. 10 is a diagram for explaining the maximum lengths of the 1G signal preamble and the 10G signal preamble compliant with the IEEE 802.3 standard. Each numerical value in FIG. 10 is the maximum length of the corresponding item, and the unit of the numerical value is ns. As shown in FIG. 10, according to the IEEE 802.3 standard, the length of the preamble of the 1G signal is 1312 ns at the maximum, and the length of the preamble of the 10G signal is 1712 ns at the maximum. The
FIG. 11 is a diagram comparing the preamble of the 1G signal and the preamble of the 10G signal. As shown in FIG. 11, the preamble of the 1G signal is shorter than the preamble of the 10G signal. In the example shown in FIG. 11, the idle pattern is a pattern generated based on the rate of the 10G signal.
The preamble is a time for stabilizing the operation of the receiving circuit in the
FIG. 12 is a diagram for explaining an idle pattern IDLE insertion process according to the fourth embodiment of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 12, according to the fourth embodiment, the idle pattern IDLE based on the transmission rate of the 1G signal is inserted before the 1G signal. The OLT can use the idle pattern IDLE to train the clock frequency for receiving a 1G signal. By training the clock frequency in advance, it is possible to make room for the time for synchronization processing even for a short preamble. That is, even when the optical burst signal having the shortest preamble is received, the possibility that the synchronization process is completed during the preamble can be increased.

(Fifth embodiment)
The configuration of the idle
FIG. 13 is a diagram showing a 10G upstream optical burst optical signal compliant with the IEEE 802.3 standard. Referring to FIG. 13, the upstream optical burst signal includes a synchronization (Sync) pattern, a burst delimiter, a payload (data), and an EOB (End Of Burst). Note that the data represented by the data signal includes a plurality of data blocks.
The
In 10G-EPON, an operation under a high condition of a bit error rate of 1 × 10 −3 is required. For this reason, a certain amount of bit errors are allowed in the synchronization pattern or burst delimiter pattern so that pattern synchronization can be performed even if some bits of the synchronization pattern or burst delimiter pattern are incorrect. On the other hand, a 66-bit synchronization pattern and a burst delimiter pattern are selected in advance so that pattern synchronization does not occur erroneously at portions other than the head of the optical burst signal.
The
In the fifth embodiment, any continuous 66-bit section of the repetitive pattern generated as the idle pattern is a bit pattern that is separated by a Hamming distance of 15 or more from both the synchronization pattern and the burst delimiter pattern. . By using a pattern having a sufficiently large Hamming distance as an idle pattern, even if a bit error occurs in the synchronization pattern or burst delimiter pattern, the possibility that the
FIG. 14 is a diagram illustrating an idle pattern applicable to the fifth embodiment of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 14, the idle pattern may be a repeated pattern of “1” and “0” used for the EOB delimiter pattern. In the case of this pattern, the Hamming distance is 28 or more for both the synchronization pattern and the burst delimiter pattern. The synchronization pattern is a pattern determined so that the Hamming distance with respect to the pattern repeating “1” and “0” is increased. Therefore, a repeating pattern of “1” and “0” can be used for the idle pattern.
On the other hand, if a pattern in which “1” and “0” repeat is generated, the frequency of the electric signal increases, and therefore, a problem of radiation noise may occur inside the optical
The idle pattern may be a pattern in which the first two bits are (10) and the 8-bit pattern (10101100) is repeated eight times. In the case of this pattern, the Hamming distance is 24 or more for both the synchronization pattern and the burst delimiter pattern.
The length of the idle pattern may be 66 bits which is the same as the length of the synchronization pattern. By adjusting the length of the idle pattern to the length of the synchronization pattern, it is possible to prevent the configuration from becoming complicated.
The idle pattern may be a pattern in which the first 2 bits are (10) and the 16-bit pattern (101011001111100000) is repeated four times. In the case of this pattern, the Hamming distance is 22 or more for both the synchronization pattern and the burst delimiter pattern.
As described above, the idle pattern may be a signal in which “0” and “1” are alternately repeated. In this case, the process of the idle
According to the fifth embodiment, it is possible to prevent the pattern synchronization from being erroneously performed on the idle pattern inserted by the optical signal repeater in the 10G signal reception process by the station side device.
In the configuration of FIG. 7, the transmission rate for generating the idle pattern may be fixed. For example, when only an ONU that transmits a 10G signal as an upstream signal is connected to the PON line, the optical signal relay device can turn off the circuit for the 1G signal.
あるいは、無信号区間にPRBS(Pseudo−Random Bit Sequence)を挿入してもよい。 In the configuration of FIG. 5, an idle pattern determined for each transmission rate may be inserted in the no-signal section. As an example of such a determined pattern, for example, a Sync pattern can be adopted for a 10G signal. On the other hand, a preamble can be used for a 1G signal. Alternatively, PRBS (Pseudo-Random Bit Sequence) may be inserted in the no-signal section. When any pattern is used, the mark rate can be made relatively good.
In the configuration of FIG. 5, a frequency division pattern of 10G signal may be generated as an idle pattern after the 10G signal, and a frequency division pattern of 1G signal may be generated as the idle pattern after the 1G signal. The frequency division ratio is, for example, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 or the like. By inserting the frequency-dividing patterns of the 10G signal and the 1G signal into the non-signal section, an advantage that, for example, crosstalk in the OLT side link is small can be obtained.
In the configuration of FIG. 5, for example, an idle pattern may be generated at a rate different from the transmission rate of the signal immediately before. That is, an idle pattern based on the 1G reference clock is inserted after the 10G signal. An idle pattern based on a 10G reference clock is inserted after the 1G signal. Thereby, in the case of multiplex relay, it is possible to easily determine a break between a burst signal and a non-signal section (section in which an idle pattern is inserted).

FIG. 16 is a diagram showing a configuration of a WDM (wavelength multiplexing) optical communication system according to an embodiment of the present invention. In the following, a configuration and technique relating to transmission of signals in the direction from the ONU to the OLT will be described. As shown in FIG. 16, a plurality of branch optical fibers connected to each

The optical
In such a WDM (wavelength multiplexing) optical communication system, it is necessary to stabilize the emission wavelength interval so that the emission wavelength does not fluctuate. Therefore, temperature control of the laser diode becomes important. By continuously driving the laser diode, the temperature of the laser diode can be stabilized. Since the temperature of the laser diode is stabilized, the emission wavelength can be stabilized.
