The present invention relates to an air-fuel ratio sensor abnormality detection device, an air-fuel ratio sensor control device, and an abnormality detection method.
For the purpose of improving the fuel efficiency of a vehicle, feedback control for bringing the air-fuel ratio, which is the ratio of air and fuel in exhaust gas discharged from an internal combustion engine, close to the target air-fuel ratio is widely known. It is detected by a sensor (A / F sensor).
As an air-fuel ratio sensor, an air-fuel ratio sensor including a gas sensor element having a pump cell and a detection cell is known. In such an air-fuel ratio sensor, it becomes difficult to accurately detect the air-fuel ratio when an abnormality such as a short circuit occurs at both ends of the detection cell. Therefore, a technique for detecting the occurrence of an abnormality in which both ends of the detection cell are short-circuited has been proposed (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
However, with the above-described conventional technology, there is a possibility that an abnormality in which both ends of the detection cell are short-circuited cannot be accurately detected.
The present invention has been made in view of the above, and provides an abnormality detection device for an air-fuel ratio sensor, an air-fuel ratio sensor control device, and an abnormality detection method capable of accurately detecting an abnormality in which both ends of a detection cell are short-circuited. The purpose is to provide.
In order to solve the above problems and achieve the object, the present invention provides a gas sensor comprising a detection cell for detecting the oxygen concentration in the gas detection chamber and a pump cell for pumping oxygen into and out of the gas detection chamber. An abnormality detection apparatus for an air-fuel ratio sensor having an element includes an inter-terminal voltage detection unit, a terminal voltage detection unit, and an abnormality determination unit. The inter-terminal voltage detection unit detects a voltage between a first terminal to which one end of the detection cell is connected and a second terminal to which the other end of the detection cell is connected. The terminal voltage detection unit detects a voltage of the second terminal that is changed by a measurement current supplied between the first terminal and the second terminal in order to measure an impedance state of the detection cell. . The abnormality determination unit includes the first terminal and the second terminal based on a voltage detected by the inter-terminal voltage detection unit and a change amount of the voltage detected by the terminal voltage detection unit due to the measurement current. The short state between is determined.
ADVANTAGE OF THE INVENTION According to this invention, the abnormality detection apparatus of the air fuel ratio sensor which can detect the abnormality which the both ends of a detection cell short-circuit accurately, the control apparatus of an air fuel ratio sensor, and the abnormality detection method can be provided.
Embodiments of an air-fuel ratio sensor (A / F sensor) abnormality detection device, an air-fuel ratio sensor control device, and an abnormality detection method according to the present invention will be described below in detail with reference to the drawings. In addition, this invention is not limited by this embodiment.

[1. Configuration of air-fuel ratio sensor]
FIG. 1 is a diagram illustrating an example of a configuration of an air-fuel ratio sensor according to an embodiment of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 1, the air-fuel ratio sensor 1 includes a gas sensor element 2 and a control device 3.
The gas sensor element 2 shown in FIG. 1 is, for example, a full-range air-fuel ratio gas sensor element, and detects the oxygen concentration in the gas detection chamber and the pump cell 4 that pumps and pumps oxygen into a gas detection chamber (not shown). The
The control device 3 includes a COM terminal Tcom (an example of a first terminal), a VS terminal Tvs (an example of a second terminal), an IP terminal Tip, a
The IP terminal Tip is connected to one end of the pump cell 4, the COM terminal Tcom is connected in common to the other end of the pump cell 4 and the one end of the
端子電圧検出部11は、VS端子Tvsの電圧Vs(以下、VS電圧Vsと記載する)を検出する。
The
The
The
The
The
For example, when the inter-terminal voltage Vcv is less than or equal to the threshold value Vth1 (an example of the predetermined value) and the voltage change amount ΔVs is less than or equal to the threshold value Vth2 (an example of the predetermined value), the
When the IP terminal Tip and the COM terminal Tcom are short-circuited (hereinafter sometimes referred to as “IP-COM”), the IP current Ip does not flow to the pump cell 4, so that the VS voltage Vs is an atmosphere (gas sensor element). 2 is a voltage corresponding to the oxygen concentration of the space in which 2 is disposed. Therefore, when the air-fuel ratio is lean, the inter-terminal voltage Vcv becomes almost 0 V, and when focusing only on the inter-terminal voltage Vcv, both ends of the
Therefore, the

As shown in FIG. 2, the control device 3 includes a COM terminal Tcom, a VS terminal Tvs, an IP terminal Tip, a

[2.2.3. Feedback Control Unit 12]

[2.2.5. Current detection unit 14]
The

The
[2.2.8. Heater control unit 17]

The
[2.2.9. Mode control unit 18]
The
The active state of the gas sensor element 2 includes a state where the gas sensor element 2 is not activated (hereinafter referred to as an inactive state) and a state where the gas sensor element 2 is activated (hereinafter referred to as an active state). . A sensor inactive region described later is a period in which the gas sensor element 2 is not activated, and a sensor active region is a period in which the gas sensor element 2 is activated.
The
FIG. 5 is a diagram showing state changes of the COM voltage Vcom, the VS voltage Vs, and the IP current Ip when the air-fuel ratio sensor 1 is normal. In the following description, it is assumed that Va = 3.3 [V] and Vref = 0.45. However, Va and Vref are not limited to such voltage values.
As shown in FIG. 5, when the control device 3 starts control of the gas sensor element 2 (time t0), the control device 3 starts the first mode. In the first mode, the
The
Since the impedance Zs of the
In the activation judgment process, the
When the impedance Zs becomes equal to or less than the threshold value Zth1 (time t1 shown in FIG. 5), the
As a result, the IP current Ip is supplied from the
In the second mode, the

The
The
FIG. 6 is a diagram illustrating a configuration example of the
The first
The
The configuration of the
FIG. 7 shows a case where both ends of the
As shown in FIG. 7, the measurement
As described above, the
By the way, it is an unstable state immediately after the mode transition, and there is a possibility of erroneous detection if a short state between COM and VS is detected from the time t1 when the mode is shifted to the second mode. Therefore, the
Moreover, the
As shown in FIG. 8, detection is performed by the inter-terminal
The period T13 is a state in which the inter-terminal voltage Vcv is stable, and the error of the inter-terminal voltage Vcv caused by the measurement current Im is small, so that the short state at both ends of the
By the way, the
FIG. 9 is an operation explanatory diagram when a short circuit between COM and VS occurs after the transition from the first mode to the second mode. As shown in FIG. 9, when a short circuit between COM and VS occurs at a time t20 from a normal state, the impedance Zs rapidly decreases at a time t22 that is the next processing timing, and the impedance Zs becomes equal to or less than the threshold value Zth1. Become.
As described above, when the impedance Zs becomes equal to or less than the threshold value Zth1, the
In addition, when the impedance Zs becomes equal to or less than the threshold value Zth1, the
As described above, the
If the
Therefore, the temperature Ts of the gas sensor element 2 decreases, and in the example shown in FIG. 10, at the time t25, the temperature Ts of the gas sensor element 2 becomes equal to or lower than the activation temperature Tth1, and the gas sensor element 2 enters an inactive state. Therefore, the
On the other hand, as described above, the
In the example described above, the
Moreover, although embodiment mentioned above demonstrated the example which provides the abnormality determination part 53 (an example of an abnormality determination apparatus) in the control apparatus 3, the
[3. Abnormality determination processing flow of abnormality detection unit 19]
Next, an example of the flow of the abnormality determination process of the
As shown in FIG. 11, the
If the
If the
When the process of step S15 is completed, or when it is determined that the counter value Cd is not zero (step S14; No), the
If the
As described above, the
Thereby, for example, even when the IP-COM is short-circuited, erroneous determination of the short-circuit state between COM-VS can be avoided, and the short-circuit state between COM-VS, that is, the
The
The
In addition, the
In addition, the
In addition, the
In addition, the
Further, the predetermined period TC is longer than the period TD from when the impedance Zs becomes equal to or less than the threshold value Zth1 due to occurrence of a short between COM and VS until the
