Claims (10)
- 光ファイバ上に格子を刻印するための製造方法であって、
屈折率n surround を有する材料で前記光ファイバを取り囲むステップと、
オフセット・セグメント上に格子を書き込むステップと、
を含み、
前記光ファイバが、
軸中心と、
前記軸中心から計測される外半径(Rfiber)と、
ファイバ屈折率(nfiber)と、
前記光ファイバの軸方向に沿った螺旋状軌跡であって、該螺旋状軌跡が、
ツイスト周期と、
前記光ファイバの前記軸中心からオフセット距離Roffsetだけ偏位するオフセット・セグメントと、
を備える、螺旋状軌跡と、
前記螺旋状軌跡をたどるコアと、
を含み、
前記格子が、
前記ツイスト周期の十分の一(1/10)よりも大きい格子長と、
最大格子強度と、
最小格子強度と、
前記最小格子強度と前記最大格子強度の比
η=nfiber/nsurround、
nfiber≠nsurround、
ρ<1/η、および
ρ=Roffset/Rfiberである、
格子と、
を備える、光ファイバ上に格子を刻印するための製造方法。 - RoffsetがRfiberの40パーセント(%)よりも大きく、
前記格子が、20センチメートル(cm)よりも長く、
前記格子が、前記ツイスト周期にわたって約3デシベル(dB)未満の強度変動を有する、請求項1に記載の製造方法。 - Roffsetが、Rfiberのρmax=1/η倍よりも大きい、請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 前記格子が、前記ツイスト周期全体にわたって約10デシベル(dB)未満の格子強度変動を有する、請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 前記格子が1センチメートル(cm)よりも長い、請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 前記格子が15センチメートル(cm)よりも長い、請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 前記格子が1メートル(m)よりも長い、請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 前記格子が、前記ツイスト周期全体にわたって約2デシベル(dB)未満の屈折率変調の変動を有する、請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 前記光ファイバを取り囲む材料の屈折率が、クラッディング屈折率および被覆屈折率の平均と整合する、請求項1に記載の製造方法。
- 前記光ファイバを取り囲む材料の屈折率が、
クラッディング屈折率、
被覆屈折率、
コア屈折率とクラッディング屈折率の組合せ、
クラッディング屈折率と被覆屈折率の組合せ、または
コア屈折率、クラッディング屈折率、および被覆屈折率の組合せ、
に整合する、請求項1に記載の製造方法。
