Description
The present invention relates to a conversion connector for a catheter used in an image diagnostic apparatus using ultrasonic waves and optical interference, and a catheter set.
Examples of an image diagnostic apparatus, particularly an apparatus for acquiring an image of a blood vessel lumen include an intravascular ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus (IVUS: IntraVascular Ultra Sound) and an optical coherence tomography diagnostic apparatus (OCT: Optical Coherence Tomography).
Both the ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus and the optical coherence tomographic diagnostic apparatus (for example, Patent Document 1) use a catheter that houses an imaging core that is rotatable and movable in the axial direction of the rotation axis. Both apparatuses have a pull-back unit (also referred to as an MDU (motor driving unit)) that functions as a driving source for rotation and movement of the imaging core.
An imaging core in a catheter used for an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus has an element that oscillates an ultrasonic wave driven by an electric signal, and a detection element that receives the ultrasonic wave and outputs it as an electric signal. In some cases, ultrasonic waves are transmitted and received by one element. Therefore, the pullback portion used in the ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus has several electrical connection terminals for electrical connection with the catheter in addition to the power source that regulates rotation and movement.
On the other hand, the imaging core in the catheter used in the optical coherence tomography diagnosis apparatus has no electrical circuit and accommodates a lens for emitting light toward the vascular tissue and an optical fiber connected to the lens. It has a structure to do. Therefore, the pullback portion used in the optical coherence tomography diagnosis apparatus has a structure for optically connecting to the optical fiber in the catheter, in addition to the power source that regulates the rotation and movement.
In order to enable ultrasonic diagnosis and optical coherence tomography diagnosis with a single catheter, electrical connection with an ultrasonic element existing in the imaging core and optical connection with a lens are required. None of the current ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus and optical coherence tomographic diagnostic apparatus have both electrical connection and optical connection, and a dedicated apparatus must be developed. However, the manufacturing cost of the device is high compared with the manufacturing cost of the catheter, and a large amount of money is required for the user to purchase a new device.
In view of the above points, the present inventor performs switching between mounting and non-mounting of a connector having a suitable structure on a catheter having both functions of ultrasonic diagnosis and optical coherence tomography, thereby providing an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus, optical The present invention intends to provide a technique that can be used in any of the coherent tomographic diagnosis apparatuses and that can suppress the development cost of the diagnostic apparatus.
In order to solve the above problems, the catheter of the present invention has the following configuration. That is,
A catheter that can be used in an ultrasonic diagnostic imaging apparatus and an optical interference diagnostic imaging apparatus,
A rotatable imaging core located at one end of the catheter and having an ultrasonic transmission / reception unit and an optical transmission / reception unit;
An electric signal line extending from the ultrasonic receiver, a drive shaft for receiving a fiber extending from the optical transceiver and transmitting a rotational force to the imaging core;
An electrode located on the other end of the catheter and electrically connected to the electrical signal line in the drive shaft is provided on the side surface, and the end of the fiber is exposed to the rotation center position, and the drive shaft is And a connector having a shape engaged with a rotating part to be rotated.
The catheter of the present invention can be used for both the ultrasonic image diagnostic apparatus and the optical interference image diagnostic apparatus, and can reduce the cost for manufacturing the apparatus.
Other features and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following description with reference to the accompanying drawings. In the accompanying drawings, the same or similar components are denoted by the same reference numerals.
Embodiments according to the present invention will be described below in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
FIG. 1 shows a general intravascular ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus (hereinafter referred to as an IVUS apparatus), an optical coherence tomographic diagnostic apparatus (hereinafter referred to as an OCT apparatus), or a hybrid apparatus of ultrasonic diagnosis and optical diagnosis. 2 shows an external configuration of the
画像診断装置100は、カテーテル101と、MDU(Motor Driving Unit:プルバック部とも呼ばれる)102と、操作制御装置103で構成される。
The
The MDU 102 is connected to the rear end of the
FIG. 2 is an external configuration diagram of the
The features of this embodiment are the structure of the
The
Hereinafter, the structure of the
FIG. 3 shows a cross-sectional structure of the distal end portion (side to be inserted into a blood vessel) of the
The
An
The ultrasonic transmission /
The
Next, the structure on the side connected to the
In the case of OCT, unless the optical fiber in the
In view of the above points, the present inventor has come up with an idea that the connector on the side connected to the MDU at the rear end of the
However, in the case of only such a structure, the
FIG. 4A shows a side cross-sectional structure of the rear end portion 401 (side connected to the MDU) of the
A rear end of the
Further, the
Moreover, the
The
Next, a conversion connector for using the
FIG. 5A is a cross-sectional structure diagram of the
The

In the
On the other hand, on the side of the
Each signal line of the three
FIG. 5C is a developed view of the inner surface of the
FIG. 6 shows a cross-sectional structure when the
As described above, the
In addition, when the medical institution has both IVUS and OCT devices, it is sufficient to deliver the
