Description
本発明は、所定の粒子径を有する粒子を含む粒子混合物から当該粒子を分離する方法に関する。 The present invention relates to a method for separating particles from a particle mixture containing particles having a predetermined particle size.
Nano-sized nanoparticles (for example, particle diameters of several nanometers to several tens of nanometers) are physically different from submicron or micron-sized particles (submicron particles, micron particles). Due to its chemical properties and functions, it has gained widespread attention in industry. For example, the nanoparticle is used for the purpose of adding a function peculiar to the nanoparticle to a product by being contained in another medium. Since the particle size distribution of the nanoparticles greatly affects the function and the like in the product containing the nanoparticle, the particle size distribution is extremely narrow in order to effectively perform the characteristic function of the nanoparticle in the product. However, it is required to obtain nanoparticles having a substantially uniform particle size.
広範な粒度分布(例えば、粒子径が数nm〜数μm程度の粒度分布)を有する、ナノ粒子を含む粒子混合物から、目的とする粒子径であって、実質的に均一な粒子径を有するナノ粒子を分離する方法として、従来、重力分離機、慣性分離機、遠心分離機等の分離機を用いた分離法が知られている。しかしながら、市販されている多くの分離機は、粒子径がミクロンサイズの粒子を分離することができるものの、ナノ粒子を分離することはできない。 From a particle mixture containing nanoparticles having a wide particle size distribution (for example, a particle size distribution with a particle size on the order of several nanometers to several micrometers), a nanoparticle having a target particle size and a substantially uniform particle size. As a method for separating particles, conventionally, a separation method using a separator such as a gravity separator, an inertia separator, or a centrifugal separator is known. However, many commercially available separators can separate particles having a particle size of micron size, but cannot separate nanoparticles.
そこで、粒度分布が極めて狭小であって、実質的に均一な粒子径を有するナノ粒子を得る方法として、従来、膜濾過法が提案されている(特許文献1参照)。かかる膜濾過法は、目的とする粒子径のナノ粒子に適した限外濾過膜を用い、ナノ粒子溶液をクロスフロー濾過することにより、当該ナノ粒子を分離する方法である。 Therefore, a membrane filtration method has been conventionally proposed as a method for obtaining nanoparticles having a very narrow particle size distribution and a substantially uniform particle size (see Patent Document 1). Such a membrane filtration method is a method of separating nanoparticles by cross-flow filtration of a nanoparticle solution using an ultrafiltration membrane suitable for nanoparticles having a target particle size.
上記特許文献1に記載の方法によれば、限外濾過膜を用いたクロスフロー濾過を行うことで、粒子径1〜500nm程度のナノ粒子を効率的に分離することができる。かかる方法において、限外濾過膜としては、分画粒子径が分離目的ナノ粒子及び不純物ナノ粒子の粒子径の0.5〜2倍のものが用いられる。
According to the method described in
このような微細な分画粒子径を有する限外濾過膜を用いてクロスフロー濾過を行う場合、相応に高い膜面流速でナノ粒子溶液を流さなければ、膜面が汚染されてしまい、濾過効率が低下してしまうおそれがある。そのため、上記特許文献1に記載の方法においては、ナノ粒子分離のためのランニングコストが増大してしまうという問題がある。
When performing cross-flow filtration using an ultrafiltration membrane having such a fine fractional particle size, the membrane surface will be contaminated if the nanoparticle solution is not flowed at a correspondingly high membrane surface flow rate, resulting in filtration efficiency. May decrease. Therefore, the method described in
このような課題に鑑みて、本発明は、広範な粒度分布を有する粒子混合物から、極めて狭小な粒度分布を有し、かつ実質的に均一な粒子径の分離対象粒子を簡便に、かつ低コストで分離する方法を提供することを目的とする。 In view of such problems, the present invention provides a simple and low-cost separation target particle having a very narrow particle size distribution and a substantially uniform particle size from a particle mixture having a wide particle size distribution. It is an object of the present invention to provide a method for separation by the above method.
In order to solve the above problems, the present invention is a method for separating particles to be separated contained in a particle mixture, wherein the particles to be separated have a predetermined particle size distribution, and the method comprises a fine uneven pattern. A step of bringing at least a dispersion containing the particle mixture and a dispersion medium into contact with the fine concavo-convex pattern in the particle separation substrate, and a step of removing the dispersion medium from the dispersion on the particle separation substrate; Recovering the separation target particles on the particle separation substrate, the surface of the fine concavo-convex pattern is a surface having affinity for the dispersion medium, and the dimension of the fine concavo-convex pattern is Provided is a particle separation method characterized by being substantially the same as the maximum particle size of the separation target particles or smaller than the minimum particle size of the separation target particles (Invention 1).
The present invention is also a method for separating the separation target particles contained in the particle mixture, wherein the separation target particles have a predetermined particle size distribution, and the method includes the particle mixture and a dispersion medium. One dispersion at least in contact with the first fine concavo-convex pattern in the first particle separation substrate having the first fine concavo-convex pattern, and the dispersion medium from the first dispersion on the first particle separation substrate. A second dispersion comprising: a step of removing particles; a step of recovering particles having a particle size equal to or smaller than a maximum particle size or greater than a minimum particle size of the particles to be separated on the first particle separation substrate; A step of bringing the liquid into contact with at least the second fine concavo-convex pattern in the second particle separation substrate having the second fine concavo-convex pattern, and removing the dispersion medium from the second dispersion on the second particle separation substrate. You Process and, and a step of recovering the separation subject particles on the second particle separator for the substrate, the surface of the first fine uneven pattern, affinity for the dispersion medium contained in the first dispersion The surface of the second fine concavo-convex pattern is a surface having affinity for the dispersion medium contained in the second dispersion, and the dimension of the first fine concavo-convex pattern is the separation It is substantially the same as the maximum particle diameter of the target particles or smaller than the minimum particle diameter of the separation target particles, and the size of the second fine unevenness pattern is smaller than the minimum particle diameter of the separation target particles. Alternatively, the present invention provides a particle separation method characterized by being substantially the same as the maximum particle size of the particles to be separated (Invention 2).
本発明者らが鋭意研究した結果、粒子混合物を分散させた分散液を粒子分離用基板の微細凹凸パターンに接触させた後に、分散媒を除去することで、当該微細凹凸パターンの寸法と実質的に同一の粒子径を有する粒子及び微細凹凸パターンの寸法よりも小さい粒子径を有する粒子が微細凹凸パターン上に付着することが判明した。 As a result of intensive studies by the present inventors, the dispersion liquid in which the particle mixture is dispersed is brought into contact with the fine concavo-convex pattern of the particle separation substrate, and then the dispersion medium is removed, so that the size and substantial size of the fine concavo-convex pattern are substantially reduced. It has been found that particles having the same particle size and particles having a particle size smaller than the size of the fine concavo-convex pattern adhere to the fine concavo-convex pattern.
Therefore, in the said invention (invention 1), when the particle | grains below a predetermined particle diameter are used as separation object particle | grains among the particles contained in a particle mixture, the dimension substantially the same as the largest particle diameter of the said separation object particle | grain is used. When the dispersion liquid is brought into contact with the fine concavo-convex pattern, the separation target particles adhere to the fine concavo-convex pattern. On the other hand, in the said invention (invention 1), when the particle | grains exceeding the predetermined particle diameter are used as the separation target particles among the particles contained in the particle mixture, the size is smaller than the minimum particle diameter of the separation target particles. When the dispersion liquid is brought into contact with the fine concavo-convex pattern, the separation target particles do not adhere to the fine concavo-convex pattern. Therefore, according to the said invention (invention 1), the fine unevenness | corrugation is made by making a dispersion liquid contact the fine unevenness | corrugation pattern which has a dimension according to the largest particle diameter or the minimum particle diameter of the separation object particle, and removing a dispersion medium. Separation target particles that adhere or do not adhere to the pattern can be separated and collected easily and at low cost.
また、上記発明(発明2)によれば、分離対象粒子の最大粒子径又は最小粒子径に応じた寸法を有する第1微細凹凸パターンを有する第1粒子分離用基板と、分離対象粒子の最小粒子径又は最大粒子径に応じた寸法を有する第2微細凹凸パターンを有する第2粒子分離用基板とを用いることで、分離対象粒子を簡便に、かつ低コストで分離し、回収することができる。 Moreover, according to the said invention (invention 2), the 1st particle | grain separation board | substrate which has the 1st fine uneven | corrugated pattern which has a dimension according to the largest particle diameter or the minimum particle diameter of separation object particle | grains, and the minimum particle of separation object particle | grains By using the second particle separation substrate having the second fine concavo-convex pattern having a size corresponding to the diameter or the maximum particle diameter, the separation target particles can be separated and collected easily and at low cost.
In the said invention (
本発明によれば、広範な粒度分布を有する粒子混合物から、極めて狭小な粒度分布を有し、かつ実質的に均一な粒子径の分離対象粒子を簡便に、かつ低コストで分離する方法を提供することができる。 According to the present invention, a method for separating particles to be separated having a very narrow particle size distribution and a substantially uniform particle size from a particle mixture having a wide particle size distribution easily and at low cost is provided. can do.
本発明の実施の形態について、図面を参照しながら説明する。
本実施形態に係る粒子分離方法においては、まず、分離対象粒子11を含む粒子混合物と分散媒とを含む分散液10を調製する。

In the particle separation method according to the present embodiment, first, a
Examples of the
Examples of the method for producing the metal oxide particles as described above include a pulverization method such as a jet mill method. The metal oxide particles produced by such a method are particles having a particle size (1 nm or more and less than about 50 nm) smaller than the minimum particle size D MIN of the
分散媒としては、上記粒子混合物に含まれる分離対象粒子11の凝集、変性、溶解等を起こすことなく、当該粒子混合物を好適に分散させ得る溶媒であって、後述する第1粒子分離用基板1(図3参照)における第1微細凹凸パターン3に対して親和性を有する溶媒であればよく、例えば、純水、イソプロピルアルコール(IPA)等のアルコール類等が挙げられる。
The dispersion medium is a solvent that can suitably disperse the particle mixture without causing aggregation, modification, dissolution, or the like of the

In the present embodiment, “transparent” means that when light having a wavelength of 380 to 780 nm is irradiated from one side (

The first fine concavo-
The dimension of the 1st fine uneven |
In addition, the dimension of the 1st fine uneven |
第1微細凹凸パターン3の高さ(アスペクト比)は、特に限定されるものではなく、第1微細凹凸パターン3の寸法に応じて、適宜設定され得る。通常、第1微細凹凸パターン3のアスペクト比が0.5〜3.0程度になるように、第1微細凹凸パターン3の高さが設定され得る。
The height (aspect ratio) of the first fine concavo-
The surface of the first fine concavo-
なお、基材2として石英ガラス基板を用い、分散媒として純水を用いる場合には、第1微細凹凸パターン3の表面が、第1微細凹凸パターン3の形成されていない面よりも親水性の高い表面であるため、上記表面処理をしなくてもよい。
In addition, when a quartz glass substrate is used as the
また、第1微細凹凸パターン3の表面が分散媒に対して親和性を有する表面(親溶媒性表面)である場合、基材2の第1面21のうち、第1微細凹凸パターン3の表面以外の表面(第1微細凹凸パターン3の形成されていない面)を、分散媒に対して親和性の低い表面(疎溶媒性表面)とする処理を施してもよい。これにより、分散液10をより第1微細凹凸パターン3上に集中させ易くなる。
Further, when the surface of the first fine concavo-
第1微細凹凸パターン3の表面が分散媒に対して親和性を有する表面であるとは、例えば、分散媒として純水を用いた場合、純水に対する接触角が30°以下程度であることが好ましい。
For example, when pure water is used as the dispersion medium, the surface of the first fine concavo-
Subsequently, the dispersion medium is removed from the
Examples of the method for removing the dispersion medium include a method for evaporating the dispersion medium. When evaporating the dispersion medium, the evaporation rate of the dispersion medium is preferably set to 300 μL / min or less, more preferably 100 μL / min or less. When the evaporation rate of the dispersion medium exceeds 300 μL / min, the
次に、第1粒子分離用基板1上の粒子12(最大粒子径DMAXよりも大きい粒子径を有する粒子)を除去する(図1(C)参照)。これにより、第1粒子分離用基板1の第1微細凹凸パターン3に付着する、分離対象粒子11の最大粒子径DMAX以下の粒子径を有する粒子11,13のみを当該第1粒子分離用基板1上に残存させることができる。
Next, the particles 12 (particles having a particle diameter larger than the maximum particle diameter DMAX ) on the first
第1粒子分離用基板1上の粒子12を除去する方法としては、特に限定されるものではなく、例えば、スクレーパー等を用いて粒子12を物理的に除去する方法、第1粒子分離用基板1上に溶媒等を流すことで粒子12を物理的に除去する方法等が挙げられる。
A method for removing the
Subsequently, the
上記分散媒としては、分離対象粒子11の凝集、変性、溶解等を起こすことなく、当該粒子混合物を好適に分散させ得る溶媒であって、後述する第2粒子分離用基板1’(図3参照)における第2微細凹凸パターン3’に対して親和性を有する溶媒であればよく、例えば、純水、イソプロピルアルコール(IPA)等のアルコール類等が挙げられる。
The dispersion medium is a solvent that can suitably disperse the particle mixture without causing aggregation, modification, dissolution, or the like of the
The concentration of the particle mixture in the
分散液10’を調製する方法としては、粒子混合物に含まれる粒子(特に分離対象粒子11)を可能な限り凝集させない方法であればよく、例えば、ボールミル等を用いた調製方法等が挙げられる。
As a method for preparing the
Next, the
分散液10’を第2微細凹凸パターン3’に接触させる方法としては、例えば、第2粒子分離用基板1’の第2微細凹凸パターン3’上に、分散液10’を滴下する方法等挙げられる。分散液10’の滴下量は、第2粒子分離用基板1’における第2微細凹凸パターン3’の形成されている領域の大きさ等に応じて適宜設定され得る。
Examples of the method of bringing the
第2粒子分離用基板1’は、図3に示すように、第2微細凹凸パターン3’の寸法が、粒子混合物に含まれる分離対象粒子11の最小粒子径DMIN未満であって、当該最小粒子径DMINの粒子が当該第2微細凹凸パターン3’に付着しない程度に設定されている以外は、第1粒子分離用基板1とほぼ同様の構成を有する。そのため、第2粒子分離用基板1’の構成に関する詳細な説明を省略する。
As shown in FIG. 3, the second
第2微細凹凸パターン3’の寸法は、分離対象粒子11の最小粒子径DMINよりも小さく設定される。例えば、分離対象粒子11の最小粒子径DMINが、300nm程度である場合、第2微細凹凸パターン3’の寸法は、200nm以上300nm未満程度、より好ましくは250nm以上300nm未満程度、特に好ましくは280nm以上300nm未満程度に設定され得る。
The dimension of the second fine concavo-
The dimension of the second fine concavo-
Subsequently, the dispersion medium is removed from the
Examples of the method for removing the dispersion medium include a method for evaporating the dispersion medium. When evaporating the dispersion medium, the evaporation rate of the dispersion medium is preferably set to 300 μL / min or less, more preferably 100 μL / min or less. When the evaporation rate of the dispersion medium exceeds 300 μL / min, there is a possibility that the
次に、例えば、スクレーパー等を用いた物理的方法、第2粒子分離用基板1’上に溶媒等を流す等の物理的方法等により、第2粒子分離用基板1’上の分離対象粒子11を回収する。これにより、広範な粒度分布を有する粒子混合物から、狭小な粒度分布を有する分離対象粒子11を簡便に、かつ低コストで分離することができる。
Next, the
As described above, according to the particle separation method according to the present embodiment, the
なお、上述したような構成を有する第1(第2)粒子分離用基板1(1’)は、例えば、下記のようにして作製することができる。図6は、本実施形態における第1(第2)粒子分離用基板1(1’)の作製工程を切断端面図にて示す工程フロー図である。 The first (second) particle separation substrate 1 (1 ') having the above-described configuration can be produced, for example, as follows. FIG. 6 is a process flow diagram showing a manufacturing process of the first (second) particle separation substrate 1 (1 ') in the present embodiment in a cut end view.
図6(A)に示すように、まず、第1面21(21’)及び第2面22(22’)を有し、第1面21(21’)側にハードマスク層4(4’)を備える基材2(2’)を準備し、当該基材2(2’)のハードマスク層4(4’)上にレジスト膜5(5’)を形成する。 As shown in FIG. 6A, first, the first surface 21 (21 ′) and the second surface 22 (22 ′) are provided, and the hard mask layer 4 (4 ′) is formed on the first surface 21 (21 ′) side. ), And a resist film 5 (5 ′) is formed on the hard mask layer 4 (4 ′) of the substrate 2 (2 ′).
As the base material 2 (2 ′), the constituent materials of the first (second) particle separation substrate 1 (1 ′) in the present embodiment (for example, quartz glass, synthetic quartz glass, soda glass, fluorite, fluoride) Glass materials such as calcium, magnesium fluoride, acrylic glass, and borosilicate glass; transparent materials such as polycarbonate, polypropylene, polyethylene, polystyrene, and other resin materials such as polyolefin, and metal substrates, etc. can be used. .
ハードマスク層4(4’)は、後述する工程(図6(D)参照)により基材2(2’)をエッチングするために用いられるハードマスクパターン4a(4a’)を形成するための層である。そのため、基材2(2’)を構成する材料とのエッチング選択比を考慮した材料により構成される。例えば、基材2(2’)が石英ガラスにより構成される場合、ハードマスク層4(4’)は金属クロム等により構成されるのが望ましい。
The hard mask layer 4 (4 ′) is a layer for forming a
レジスト膜5(5’)を構成するレジスト材料としては、特に限定されるものではなく、従来公知のエネルギー線感応型レジスト材料(例えば、電子線感応型レジスト材料、紫外線感応型レジスト材料等)等を用いることができる。 The resist material constituting the resist film 5 (5 ′) is not particularly limited, and a conventionally known energy beam sensitive resist material (for example, electron beam sensitive resist material, ultraviolet ray sensitive resist material, etc.), etc. Can be used.

Thereafter, as shown in FIG. 6D, the substrate 2 (2 ′) is etched using the
以上説明した実施形態は、本発明の理解を容易にするために記載されたものであって、本発明を限定するために記載されたものではない。したがって、上記実施形態に開示された各要素は、本発明の技術的範囲に属する全ての設計変更や均等物をも含む趣旨である。 The embodiment described above is described for facilitating understanding of the present invention, and is not described for limiting the present invention. Therefore, each element disclosed in the above embodiment is intended to include all design changes and equivalents belonging to the technical scope of the present invention.

(Second) The embodiment using the particle separation substrate 1 (1 ′) has been described as an example, but the present invention is not limited to such an embodiment. For example, the first (second) particle separation substrate 1 (1 ′) is formed on the first surface 21 (21 ′) of the base 2 (2 ′) as a separate member from the base 2 (2 ′). A concavo-convex structure having a first (second) fine concavo-convex pattern 3 (3 ′) (for example, a sheet-like member having the first (second) fine concavo-convex pattern 3 (3 ′)) is attached.
